DISNEY - PARENT TRAP SET
THE PARENT TRAP(1961):
The Parent Trap was quite innovative when it first
came out, and Hayley Mills plays the parts of the two
sisters perfectly! I've enjoyed this movie a lot every
time I've watched it, and Hayley does a good job on
the music! B+

Hayley Mills here was just in the right place at the
right time and in the right role. It turned out to be
one of the finest screen performances by a child actor.
That this was comedy made Mills' work all the more
impressive, for this is a difficult, underrated genre
in which to excel. Her every line, gesture and expression
was perfect. It was Hayley's greatest work, and a triumph
for the Disney Studios.
The rest of the cast from Maureen O'Hara (at her most
beautiful) to Brian Keith (at his most charming) was ideal.
Ditto for the entire supporting cast.

THE PARENT TRAP II(1986):
Of course even with Hayley Mills in this second
part of the saga, this is no where near as good
as the original! It's cute, and the kids are
adorable, but it's just so-so! B-

OK, so looking back on this movie now that I'm an
adult, I realize it is probably not the most quality movie
I have ever seen. But as a kid, I loved it. I taped it off of
the Wonderful World of Disney and watched it over and
over. There are some very funny lines, and I love how
the maid is nosy, just like in the first movie But my main
problem is how can Haley Mills, a blond, have a daughter
who's a red head?(This is truly one of the stupidest remarks
from a "reviewer" that I have ever seen in a review!! Anyone,
at any time, can have any kind of baby if anywhere in their
linage there's a precedence!! RP) If you loved the first Parent
Trap, see the sequel, just so you can know what happens to
Susan and Sharon once they're all grown up.
