AIRPORT TERMINAL PACK
A collection of the 4 Aiport Movies made!
AIRPORT(1970):
The first of the Airport series of movies, this
one starts slow but picks up quickly and the
rest is an edge of your seat kind of movie. It
boasts some of the very top names in TV of the
era, Dean Martin, Lloyd Nolan(Days Of Our Lives),
Barbara Hale(Perry Mason), Christopher Lloyd(Taxi),
along with some pretty well known big screne
actors, Burt Lancaster (From Here To Eternity),
George Kennedy(Charade), Maureen Stapleton
(Cocoon), and Helen Hayes(Murder With Mirrors). B+
A review from the back of the DVD:
One of the first of the big disaster films, this
stodgy Hollywood product lumbers and creaks
as it tries to sort out the various plot threads
of Arthur Hailey's doorstop of a novel. Set at
(what else?) a busy metropolitan airport, it
details what happens one eventful night when,
among other things, a huge blizzard threatens
to disrupt air traffic for the airport manager
(Burt Lancaster) even as a suicidal bomber (Van
Heflin) heads into the air with mayhem on
his mind. There's also an impish old lady (Helen
Hayes, who won an Oscar for this role) who
specializes in sneaking aboard airliners, and
the married pilot (Dean Martin) is having an
affair with a stewardess (Jacqueline Bisset).
An old-fashioned movie that inspired a bunch
of sequels, the Airplane spoofs, and a host of
other disaster films. --Marshall Fine

Another good disaster film, with this one being
about most of the flight crew getting incapacitated
after an accident! Pretty good story, very good
acting, and well worth a watch!

A review from Amazon.com:
This sequel to the original "Airport" is much better
written and acted. Unlike the first "Airport" this film
actually has suspense and a plot. A small place crashes
into a 747 (right into the cockpit, wouldn't you know)
and either kills or severely injures the flight crew. A
stewardess is left to bring the jumbo jet safely back
to earth.
Charlton Heston gives a pretty good performance as
the boyfriend of the pilot/stewardess and other cast
members like George Kennedy (how did he get so lucky
to be in all of these movies?) and Karen Black portray
believeable, if not a bit predictable, characters. I will
say the guys in the Salt Lake City air traffic control
tower leave a lot to be desired, but they are the
weakest of the film's cast.
In the end all is well and things work out. While
this is not a great movie, it is far superior to the
extremely boring original. - J. Lindner

Another sabotage of a plane, owned by Jimmy Stewart,
backfires and sends it to the bottom of the ocean! There
are several survivors, but they need to find a way to get
out before it implodes!
Again a who's who of stars:
Jack Lemmon(The Odd Couple), George Kennedy(He's
in all 4 of the Airport movies), Darren McGavin(Mike
Hammer, Kolchak, Love Boat), Christopher Lee (LOTR,
Star Wars 3, The Hobbit), Gil Gerrard(Buck Rogers),
Joseph Cotten, Olivia de Haviland and the incomparable
and without a doubt one of the five best actors who ever
blessed us with their talents, Jimmy Stewart(along with
Cary Grant, Sean Connery, John Wayne and Robert Wagner)!! B
A review from the back of the DVD:
Ignore the reviews of those who gave this movie
only one or two stars. Granted, this is not the best
movie ever made but it is a piece of our ever-evolving
movie history. It is in no way useless or "ridiculous"
as other Amazon.com viewers have stated. (I should
also add that those who write reviews should spell
"correctly." I've always said if you don't know how
to spell a word, look it up in the dictionary.) As for
this movie - it is an historical treasure. How can it
possibly be anything but a treasure with wonderful
actors such as Jack Lemmon, Gil Gerard and Jimmy
Stewart! If you are wanting 21st century special
effects - forget it. You won't find it in this movie.
However, you will find a piece of marvelous nostalgia
- historical movie magic in all its 1970s style glory!
Ignore those who call this movie worthless. Some
people take life way too seriously. These are the
same people who take movies way too seriously.
Some are meant to be for entertainment only. This
movie entertains just as well as any other classic
Airport movie or any other disaster movie for that
matter. If you are a highly critical snob, you won't
like this movie. If you lived in the 70s and want a
piece of history just for the fun of it, this video is
not a waste of money. Loosen up, relax and
enjoy. - A Customer

Monte Markham ... Banker

The last of the disaster Airplane movies, this one
is all about one mans attempt to stop his girlfriend
from exposing his selling illegal arms to bad people!
An obvious television movie, this IS the weakest link!!
It's unfortunate that the wonderful Robert Wagner
(Hart To Hart, It Takes A Thief) had to be wasted
on this one, with only George Kennedy(who was in
all four of these movies) and Eddie Albert(Green
Acres) to help, along with David Warner (Star Trek
V: The Final Frontier), Charo, Jimmy Walker(Good
Times), Cicely Tyson(Roots), Martha Rae and John
Davidson(The Happiest Millionaire, The One and
Only Genuine, Original Family Band). C
A review from the back of the DVD:
When you see that George Kennedy is now flying
planes, you know what you are in for. What you are
in for, may or may not, have been made for television,
but it certainly has that particular small screen look.
At any rate, expecting nothing but your average such
film, with its one Big TV Star, Robert Wagner, and you
should find yourself entertained by the shenanigans.
Oh, yes, the Older Star Who Makes An Appearance, is
neither earlier Airport's, Helen Hayes or Gloria Swanson,
but reliable, ever-popular, Eddie Albert (senior). You
needn't know the hazards of flying this Concorde in
advance, enjoy the multiple efforts to destroy it as
they occur. Of course, if youwant serious airplane
drama, John Wayne's epic is still available. - drkhimxz
