ICE AGE(2002)
Ice age is a wonderful movie!! Ray is the perfect
person to play the wooly mammoth Manfred!! Manfred
meets up with Sid the sloth and Diego the saber-tooth tiger!
Manny and Sid find a baby who's just lost his mother,
and they end up on a trip to try and re-unite it with his "tribe",
all the while Diego is trying to lead them to a trap set up by
the other saber-tooths!! This is all about friendship and watching
out for each other, no matter what the costs!! The rest of
the actors are great as well! Along with a great script with
a lot of humor(much of the humor is WAY over most kids'
heads), this is a must see animated movie!! A
The second disc on this one has a short called Scrat's Missing
Adventure! Very very funny!!! A
A review from IMDb.com:
I saw the movie with two grown children. Although it
was not as clever as Shrek, I thought it was rather good.
In a movie theatre surrounded by children who were on
spring break, there was not a sound so I know the children
all liked it. There parents also seemed engaged. The death
and apparent death of characters brought about the
appropriate gasps and comments. Hopefully people realize
this movie was made for kids. As such, it was successful
although I liked it too. Personally I liked the Scrat!! - lynzee

Slightly less enjoyable than the first, this is non-the-less
a fun movie and well worth watching!! This one is about
the ice melting, and all the animals trying to find a way
to survive!! Manny meets Ellie, who also is a wooly mammoth,
whom Manny thought were all extinct 'cept him! B
And this one also has an extra little film about Scrat
called "No Time For Nuts"! Also quite funny!! B+
A review from IMDb.com:
My family and I absolutely LOVED this movie!! We thought
it achieved the rare accomplishment of being better than
its original. As my husband says, "They stole from everyone."
Without spoiling the movie, let me just say there were bits
from Broadway musicals, from other movies (some new, some
classics), and from everything in between. The vultures' musical
number is the one that has gotten stuck in my head. That's as
far as I'll go with that one.
Ice Age 2 really racked up the talent. Numerous times we
would lean over and whisper "I know that voice! Who IS that?"
I was truly surprised to find out that one of them was Jay Leno.
Although the underlying message of both Ice Age movies is
death, doom, and destruction, I thought overall it was a very
light-hearted movie with lots of hope, love, and friendship.
The photo-quality animation of the rushing water, Scrat's fur
blowing in the breeze, and many other tiny details was no less
than breathtakingly impressive.
While it may be just a bit much for the smallest of children, I
whole-heartedly recommend this movie to everyone else,
young and old alike. You don't have to have kids or be a kid
to love this one, just enjoy laughing. - walker2000

Also slightly less enjoyable than the first, but still quite a bit
better than the second one!! This is another fun movie and
well worth watching!!
Manny and Ellie are expecting a youngun, and Diego is feeling
like a third(fourth, fifth!) wheel, so he leaves the "herd"! Menwhile
Sid finds three eggs and decides to take them in as his own, little
knowing that they are the start of a HUGE adventure!! B+
A review from IMDb.com:
Ice age 3 was really funny and it stays true to the series.
Same old characters, a whole new adventure that everyone
at any age can enjoy.
I saw the critics and I thought to my self that it would be
good, but I didn't expect much, but I really did enjoy it more
than I thought. It may not be the best compared to the other
Ice Age films, but it still a great thrill ride that the audience
can enjoy.
And if you find a theater near you that has it in digital 3D,
go and watch it in 3D, because the action and adventure
will excite you even more than it actually does.
Normally people think since it's a third part, then the movie
won't be that great, but hear me when I say that keep that
thought out of your mind and parents, take your kids with you,
they are sure to leave with a smile and a long lasting excitement
for more.
100% enjoyable, its a 10! - bearfaceproductions

This starts out with Scrat chasing an acorn(what else) again, and
ends up causing a world-wide cataclysm!!!
The first part is pretty boring, with a lot of stupid stuff about Sid's
family! But then it picks up, with the troupe getting separated as
all the land masses separate! This is about them surviving, and trying
to find each other!! About the same as the second one in overall
appeal! B
A review from IMDb.com:
When Scrat accidentally provokes a continental cataclysm with
storm, Manny is separated from Ellie and Peaches in an iceberg
with Diego, Sid and Granny but he promises that he will find a
way to return home.
While crossing the ocean, they are captured by the cruel pirate
Captain Gutt and his crew. However they escape and Manny
plots a plan to steal Captain Gutt's ship and return to his
homeland in a dangerous voyage through the sea. But the
cruel pirates seek revenge against Manny and his family
and friends.
"Ice Age: Continental Drift" is another wonderful adventure
of Manny, Diego and Sid and their family and friends. I love
this franchise that support the funny plots in positive values
such as love, family, friendship and loyalty that seem to be
forgotten in the present days of worldwide intolerance,
selfishness and corruption. My vote is eight.

The extras on the disc are more fun than the movie!!! LOL!!
Another entry in the Ice Age movies, this one lacks
something that I can't quite put my finger on!! All the
main cast is back, there's the typical side story with Scrat,
and there's a love story involved! But the wit that's been
in the previous entries is really toned down! And the edge
to the story seems to be not as eminent as in the previous
movies!! Still, there are moments when there's a chuckle or
two, it just seems way too far between here!! Too bad, this
is one of my favorite animation franchises!! B+
The extras on this disc are:
THE STORY SO FAR:
Just what it says, a quick visual overview of Ice Age from the
first episode through number 4!!! If you've never watched the
previous ones, this would catch you up really quick with scenes
from all of the previous movies!!

All the scenes from the movie that has Scrat in them, with a
couple that are seen because of something Scrat does, with
an added scene at the end that's not in the movie!!
SCRATASIA: SCRAT'S SOLO ADVENTURES:
Several of the Scrat scenes from all the movies!!
MYSTERIES OF THE SCRATAZONS:
A humorous look at where the oblysk came from and who
the "Scratazons" were, from the creators of this movie!
With insights with tongue firmly in cheek from: Mike
Thurmeier(Director), Lori Forte (Producer) & Galen Tan
Chu(Co-Director)!! Pretty funny stuff!!
STAR SIGNS OF THE ANIMAL KINGDOM:
This is silly!!
THE SCIENCE OF IT ALL:
deGRASSE TYSON deBUNKS:

that we see in space by a real astrophysicist!!

A review from IMDb.com:
I'm a big fan of the Ice Age films and I have to say I
enjoyed this one. Original story, lots of funny moments,
great new characters, great ending. I also like the fact
that Buck is brought back in the story.
However, through out the film I had a feeling that
something was missing. The film mostly focuses on
a few characters like Buck, Manny, Peaches while
forgetting about Diego, Shira, Crash and Eddie. It felt
like they are there just going along with the squad
without playing an important role.I think more work
could have been done, maybe add some details about
the story of each character. That could have added
a better flow to the story.
Overall a good Film. 6/10 - kalynskyy_n
