BATMAN - THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS GRAPHIC NOVEL/DVD
This has not only the DVD, but also the Graphic Novel
and the Blue Ray!
I'm not sure where I stand on this!! I've never been a fan of
the whole Batman Vs. Superman story line, and this just
continues that theme!!
That being said, this is really about a "future" Batman who
has been long retired and decides it's time to come out and
play again!! It has the Joker, Superman and Green Arrow in it,
along with a new Robin, Salina Kyle(formerly known as The
Catwoman), and a retiring Commissioner Gordon!! This is a
very good movie, even with some of the drawbacks!!
With Peter Weller as Batman(he's no Kevin Conroy), and
Mark Valley as Superman(I like Mark Valley, but still he's
not Tim Daly), the casting here is pretty good, including
Ariel Winter(Robin) and David Selby(Commissioner Gordon)
At 2 1/2 hours, this is quite long for an anime, or any other
movie for that matter, but it keeps your interest for the whole
time!! Definitely worth a watch, or two, or three - - - - A

As a Batman fan I really enjoyed this animated version, both
parts of this were good but especially the second. The fact that
it is a cartoon does not mean it is for children, it just basically
brings the comic books into motion. There was a lot of action
and violence in this and because it is a cartoon means that
there were no limits.
The story line unfolded at a quick pace which is partly due
to the fact that this is only just over an hour long so it is
packed full of action. The joker gives this film a very dark
side which you might not expect from a cartoon but all
the stories involving Batman in the comics are dark so it
is true to the those.
Whether you are a fan of the comics or the main films or
not this is worth a watch and you may be surprised. - jessicareid
