BUCKET OF BLOOD, A(1959)
Quite a fun movie about a mis-understood accidental
sculpturer!!(Pun intended!!!)! This copy surprisingly
has Closed Captioning!! B-
A review from IMDb.com:
The great Roger Corman produced and directed this
cheerfully gory skewering of beatniks and the arts
community. Dick Miller plays Walter Paisley, a no-talent
busboy who idolizes the artsy types who frequent the
coffeehouse where he works. When Walter accidentally
kills his landlady's cat, he tries to hide the crime by
covering the kitty in clay, and is soon hailed as a sculpting
genius. Sure enough, the fickle arts community begins
clamoring for some larger work. As a horror movie, A
Bucket of Blood is merely okay, but it's great as a little
black comedy. Corman works in some nice gruesome
touches, such as backing up Walter's Big Emotional
Moment with a steady drizzle of blood from a victim's
arm. Most of the jokes aimed at the artists' pretensions
still seem fresh: When offering Walter some breakfast,
Maxwell announces that they're having "soy and
wheat-germ pancakes, organic guava nectar, calcium
lactate and tomato juice and garbanzo omelettes
sprinkled with smoked yeast." The free-verse parodies
are also very funny. Don't expect Bucket of Blood to
keep you up with nightmares, but do sit back and
prepare to enjoy a refreshingly sick sense of humor. --Ali Davis

PREMATURE BURIAL, THE(1962)
A strange little tale about a man who's sure he allowed
another man be buried alive! He is so driven by this that
he builds his own coffin and tomb with safety measures
so that if it happens to him he'll be able to escape! A-
From IMDb.com:

YOUNG RACERS, THE(1963)
This isn't terrible, and it does have William Campbell
(Star Trek's Trelane from the episode "The Squire Of
Gothos", as well as Koloth in "The Trouble With Tribbles")!
It's just kind of slow and plodding, and pretty boring! C+
From IMDb.com:
Handsome writer, and racing car enthusiast, Mark Damon
(as Steve Children) decides to pen the biography of Grand
Prix champion driver William Campbell (as Joe Machin).
As it turns out, Mr. Campbell is "arrogant, ruthless,
crude, and altogether a hateful human being." In Mr.
Damon's full view, Campbell ended an affair with Damon's
fiancée. Damon wants to expose Campbell's bad character,
but is drawn to the charismatic playboy. The two men duel
over the affections of women like Damon's blonde secretary
Luana Anders (as Henny), and form an unexpected friendship.
Not a very good film, certainly; but, you can see where
one was possible.

X - THE MAN WITH THE X-RAY EYES(1963)
A scientist comes up with a concoction to give x-ray
vision to people! He uses it himself and before you
know it, well, it's Roger Corman!!! B
From IMDb.com:
An interesting movie about a scientist who gets x-ray
vision when he gives himself eyes medicine. The scene
where he first begins to see people without their
clothes was quite funny because he was at dance party.
The music of the movie was corny and the visual effects
are bad. The story of the movie is solid and compelling
so you can just look past the dated visual effects.
The ending of the movie was haunting and even quite
surprising. It's defiantly worth watching if you like
good science fiction movies. The scientist name is Dr.
James Xavier. - punctate

WILD ANGELS, THE(1966)
Another boring movie about bikers! This has Michael J.
Polard(Star Trek episode "Miri") in it. F
From IMDb.com:
I first saw this show in '66 when I was a cycle rider
myself. I liked it so much that I went to see it twice.
Even liked the music. After watching it again over 30
years later, I have to ask myself just what it was that
I found so appealing about the film. It was corny,
overacted, sometimes badly acted, and it had a juvenile
storyline. I guess what I liked about it back then was
all the motorcycles. Good to see that Peter Fonda has
improved with age. - helpless_dancer

THE TRIP(1967)
I think the only way to watch this is to be stoned
out of your mind! 'Cause if your not, this is long,
tidious, stupid and boring!! D-
From IMDb.com:
This is the OTHER Peter Fonda, Jack Nicholson, and
Dennis Hopper hippy flick, and it's far more obnoxiously
styled and insecure than its successor. Perhaps my
lack of hallucinogenic drug-use will be apparent,
but compared with, say, Midsommar, this never came
close to putting me in that state. The dated tripping
scenes, of which most of this movie is comprised,
range from boring to straight-up laughable... - matthewssilverhammer

BLOODY MAMA(1970)
This is a dirty little movie, very bloody and with no
redeaming qualities, cept for the tiny bit of nudity! D-
From IMDb.com:
A gleefully trashy Corman cheapie, with Shelley Winters
as the sex-crazed head of a family of criminals. Very
bloody and perverse, yet strangely campy, and with good
support from Bruce Dern, Robert DeNiro and Don Stroud,
in a brilliantly sadistic role. Add to this Winters'
fascinatingly overblown performance and you have a
classic. Based on a true story, but you'd never
guess. - gwerq
