CORMAN, ROGER SWORD AND SORCERY COLLECTION PAGE

4 movies from the great Roger Corman!

DEATHSTALKER(1983)

Ok, first off, nudity: check! Overbearing music:
double check! Horses: yep! Hunky men: double yep!
A great story?: I didn't know there was a story!! LOL!!

Terribly choreographed fight scenes: without a doubt!
Fun to watch: sure!

Ok, the story, as it is, is that this dude is sent
on a mission to rescure some artifacts so that the
local bad sorcerer doesn't take over the known
galaxy!! B-

From IMDb.com:

This movie is packed with everything you would
expect in a sword and sorcery film(except explicit
sex)!

There are twenty-five breast shots, twenty-seven
butt shots, six sword fights, fifteen impalings,
two amputations, one arrow in the neck, three
beheadings, on horse dragging, one eye-candy,
one finger food, one mud wrestle, one pig face,
one magical trans sexual operation, two bitch
slappings, one crotch stabbing, one head smashing,
and one draw and quartering.

It doesn't get much better than this! - rlcsljo

WARRIOR AND THE SORCERESS, THE(1984)

Welp, the has the great David Carradine in it and
you would think that would make for a great movie,
right?! Welp, it has nudity, swords, nudity, fighting,
nudity and welp, nudity!! Unlike the last of
these movies, this one is played pretty straight! C+

From IMDb.com:

Would you believe it, a sword and sorcery adaption
of Akira Kurosawa's classic, Yojimbo?! Yes indeed
and it's actually rather entertaining stuff to boot
in fact.

David Carradine stars as a mysterious, monosyllabic,
sword wielding wanderer (try repeating that when
you're drunk!) who arrives in a town run by two
warring factions and who subsequently proceeds to
counter sell his fighting prowess to each side in
turn, whilst simultaneously playing them both off
against one another.

Containing some nicely implemented sword play
(choreographed by fellow star in this and always
fun to watch, Anthony De Longis), a fair quota
of breasts including one woman who bears four,
yes FOUR of them(!) and even a rubbery tentacled
monster, this proves to be a highly satisfying
watch if your in the mood for the like. - HaemovoreRex

BARBARIAN QUEEN(1985)

Poor acting, boobs, bad script, more boobs, ok music,
even more boobs! Some pretty strange characters and it's
all about revenge! C+

From IMDb.com:

Almost typical female barbarian action with lots
of swordplay and lousy plot. Allmost typical because
the Mighty Female Barbarians are looking like big
eyed, blond haired Hollywood bimbos. Well in my
opinnion that's a winning combination. - hgm

DEATHSTALKER II(1987)

Played entirely tounge-in-cheek, with bad acting,
boobies, hunks, boobies, over-the-top music, boobies,
bad script, and did I mention booooooooobs!! A lot of
fun! B

From IMDb.com:

This has to rank alongside Roger Corman's best
as one of the great cult favorites.

The acting is atrocious and the direction is
primitive at best. But there's plenty of action
and bare bosoms, which is what such movies are
all about.

Terlesky seems to be getting by in Hollywood
nowadays as a writer, director and actor in
mostly B-movies, but D-2 represents the best
of his early days.

"Is Deathstalker your first name or your
last?" You gotta love lines like that.

A classic of sorts. - proffate
