LOVE LAUGHS AT ANDY HARDY/POT O' GOLD DOUBLE FEATURE SET

POT O' GOLD(1941):

Ok, a lot of music in this!! However, instead
of detracting from this movie it plays an
integral part of the movie! Jimmy Stewart
is wonderful in this, as well as the supporting
cast of hundreds! lol. A fun movie! B-

As a big fan of James Stewart, I just had
to see him in this classic musical. He is as
good as ever, fighting against cruel big business
and standing up for the little man, which in
this case is a boarding house band. The swing
music is fantastic, James Stewart's harmonica
playing and occasional singing is excellent,
the plot is remarkably coherent, and the whole
film is absolutely hilarious. In this film, madcap

This is exactly what you would expect from
Mickey Rooney! Gets a little serious but then
lightens up at the end! Cute! C+

This film starts with Andy Hardy returning
home after serving in the army. And it's not
too long before he's caught up in the usual
Hardy capers. Mickey Rooney was a dab hand
at portraying Andy Hardy by now though at 26,
perhaps a little on the mature side for this role.
That aside, this is a fine addition to the Hardy
series with Lewis Stone, Fay Holden and Sara
Haden reprising their parts in what would be
the penultimate film of the series. Worth
your time and check out that scene at the
