MIRAMAX TWO MOVIE SET
KATE & LEOPOLD(2001):
Ok, yes this is a "woman's movie", romantic stuff
and all that, but it is very cute, and definitely one
to watch! And it has my second favorite living actress
in it in Meg Ryan(second only to Drew Barrymore!)
Hugh and Meg make a great pairing in this, and it
also has Bradley Whitford(West Wing) who does great
as always in his role! Great music, settings, story
and acting! A
From an Amazon.com customer:
What a charming pair Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman
make! This romantic comedy is about the Duke of
Albany, and while hosting a party in 1876 he notices
someone that doesn't belong at his party. When he
follows him, he literally like "Alice" falls into the
rabbit hole and travels through time to the year 2001.
Stuart Besser found this hole thru time making time
travel possible, and he takes it upon himself to
introduce the Duke to the future while trying to
find a way to get him back where he belongs. When
Leopold meets former Besser girlfriend Kate, they
can't help but fall in love.
Yes, this is a completely predictable movie, but so
what! It is the ultimate in romance, and we all need
to dream a little bit. - Kelly "Reviewer for The Sinfully Sensuous"

Another "woman's movie", this one is not quite as
good as the first, but still fun!! Kate Beckinsale
does a great job in this, and John Cusack is not bad,
but if he'd been the sole focus of the movie it would
have been much more boring! The friends of both
are really great(Jeremy Piven and Bridget Moynahan)
with Bridget stealing every scene she's in!! While quite
predictable, this is still a fun movie worth a watch
every now and then! B+
From an Amazon.com customer:
I am not sure how much I believe in serendipity - good
fortune discovered by accident also known as fate, but
this movie could make a believer out of me. John Cusack
and Kate Beckinsale are wonderful together as soul mates
that overcome every obstacle to be together! They are
successful because it was meant to be. If you can't suspend
reality, and just go with the flow, then this movie probably
isn't for you. It is meant for those that can have faith.
