GUEST IN THE HOUSE(1944)
In the set: 100 Greatest Mystery Classics

So, is she crazy, or crazy like a fox? A young man's
fiance is invited to his family's house, and she
promptly starts to turn the house upside-down! This
is definitely not my cup of tea!! C-

A review from IMDb.com:

The test of a good movie is: can you see it again
and again and it gets better and better? Actually,
the best movies are those which are pleasing to the
EAR, the combination of words and music. Increasingly
I LISTEN to movies (only the audio). I find the visual
aspects of movies often disappointing, perhaps
because of the constant switching from one scene
to another and the excessive lighting and
unrealistically gorgeous sets and wardrobe.
The audio is invariably smoother.

This film is highly satisfactory, both visually
and aurally. The whole TEXTURE, the melange of
mood and plot, sights and sounds is just right.
Plot is also highly unusual: neurosis, manipulation,
but the whole aura of the film transcends plot,
as it should. This movie is no Gone With the
Wind, and that's a compliment. - ivan-22
