LONGEST YARD, THE(1974)
This starts out poorly! I'm not a fan of prison
movies! Even though Burt Reynolds is in this along
with some near great legends of the NFL: Mike Henry,
Joe Kapp, Ray Nitschke, Purvis Atkins and even Burt
himself was a player. But this is just plain boring
to me! And it's really hard to see Eddiie Albert as
a bad ass prison warden!! C+

I've never been really interested in sports, but
"The Longest Yard" is one movie that's bound to
please everyone! Football player Paul Crewe (Burt
Reynolds) gets put in jail after a spat with his
girlfriend. The mean-spirited warden (Eddie Albert)
and the guards are always taunting him and the
other prisoners, until finally, Paul decides that
it's time to have a football match between the
prisoners and the guards.
Some scenes are a little goofy (like the scene
where they're shoveling mud), but they never seem
out of place. This is a fine example of athletics
at its best; it's what team spirit is all about.
It's hard to believe that was Bernadette Peters
