LAND THAT TIME FORGOT, THE(1975):
This is fun for an oldie!! Admittedly, the special effects
are completely sub-par by todays standards, but for 1975,
it wasn't too bad! The Island is quite beautiful, and the
story had considerable merit. The acting was ok, with
some doing quite a bit better than others. A fun movie
to watch every once in a while(like every three or so
years!) Not a lot of gore but there is kinda very brief
nudity, though you really have to strain your eyes to
see it!! B
From an Amazon.com customer:
Fun movie. It is a flashback for me and I wanted my
son to see them. They all acted so seriously while guys
with big foam dinosaur heads were bashing them - as
seen on the box cover. Doug McClure made a few of
these movies and they were fun. And for no discernible
reason I could see other than some cool special effects,
they shot (er, blow up) some dinosaurs using the
submarines cannon.
The three species of humans was fun too, this idea
of rapid evolution. Sounds painful though.
Anyway, great fun and even younger kids can watch
it as it is not like many gore filled movies seen
today. - Gary McNeel Jr.

Not as much fun as the first, but still entertaining!
With Doug McClure not showing up until quite a ways
into the movie, and a lot of second rate actors, this
really suffers from a bad script! I'm sure that the
original book was waaaay better than this turned
out! Still and all, it's at least worth a watch to see the
culmination to the story of Bowen and Lisa from
the first, and much better movie! And this does
have the distinction of having Darth Vader(David
Prowse) in it as an executioner!!! C+
From Amazon.com:
If you like big fake dinosaurs--and who doesn't?--this
is the movie for you. Patrick Wayne stars as the
intrepid Major Ben McBride, searching the Arctic
for his lost friend. Sarah Douglas is at his side as
Charly, the spunky lady photographer with a dainty
puckish streak. As luck would have it, they come
across a tropical zone that is home to big fake
dinosaurs, surly Neanderthals, and nubile cavewomen
with truly astonishing cleavage. Ah, but if only it
were that simple. An evil rival tribe has been
exterminating the gentle cave people and must
be stopped. Whatever else you may want to say
about producers Samuel Z. Arkoff and John Dark,
they simply do not skimp on explosions. The
People That Time Forgot has a detonation-filled
corker of an ending that leaves the cast absolutely
showered with dirt clods. Highly entertaining. --Ali Davis
