MUSICALS - MAMMA MIA(2008)
If you're looking for a musical with amazing singers
with voices that just won't quit, go away!! The only
decent singer here is the young lady named Sophie(Amanda
Seyfried)! However, if you're looking for a sweet love
story with really great songs, this is for you!! What
they've done here is build a movie around Abba's music
and made a hit!! These are some of my favorite songs,
especially "Does Your Mother Know"!!
Basic story, a girl's getting married and she wants
her dad to walk her down the isle! Problem is, she
doesn't know who her father is between three possibilities!!
This is a pretty fun little film!! And with the music
from Abba, a good listen!! This has the great Pierce
Brosnan in it, along with two of the original members of
Abba, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson(who, before Abba
became a group were known as the duo Bjorn and Benny with
one big hit in the US, "People Need Love"!)!! A-

- I watched this movie in the theater and loved it. I don't know
if it was the Abba music that made me love it, Meryl Streep, or
the love story.
- When it came on TV, I thought I am going to watch it again and
see if I was just in a weird mood the first time I saw it, and maybe
it won't have the same impact on me if I see it again. However,
I LOVED IT the second time even more.
- I have since watched that movie 4 more times, and loved it every
time.
- Some people criticized Brosnan's singing. I thought his singing was
fine. It wasn't perfect but it made the movie seem more realistic - not
everyone in real life sounds like Micheal Buble or Frank Sinatra.
Bottom Line - This is one of my favorite movies of all time. - henry-kawa
