THE BEATLES MOVIE PAGE
The four movies with the Beatles! Some count
"Let It Be" as a movie, but I don't!!
A HARD DAY'S NIGHT(1964)
A really non-sequitar of a movie! Methinks the
only reason for this was to put The Beatles out
in the public's eyes, and to showcase some of their
music!!
Of course the only reason for watching this is
for the music, although there is some humor every
once in a while! But some of the greatest music
ever made is here!!! B
There are several specials on this:
Commentary -
None of the guys are in this!
In Their Own Voices:
The Boys talk about making the film!
This is more entertaining than the movie!!
You Can't Do That -
The Making of "A Hard Day's Night"!
Hosted by Phil Collins! With input from:
Roger Ebert, Peter Noone(Herman's Hermits),
Roger McGuinn(The Byrds), Victor Spinetti,
Alun Owen(Screenwriter), Norman Rossington,
Debbie Gendler(NJ Fan Club President), Jilie
Harris(Wardrobe Designer), Walter Shenson
(Producer), George Harrison(voice only), Richard
Lester(Director), Micky Dolenz(The Monkees) &
Michael Friend(Director, Film Archives)!
This also has the song "You Can't Do That"
that was in the film but cut!!
Another entertaining special!!
Trailers!
From IMDb.com:
Excellent production, script, acting and what BRILLIANT
music composed under the duress of filming and touring!
John Lennon's tour-de-force (he wrote 11 1/2 songs on
the album, Paul McCartney wrote half of "And I Love Her"
and all of "Things We Said Today"). The script captures
perfectly the joys and draining madness of Beatlmania.
The Beatles prove in this film that they are deserving
of the fame and adulation. - MrVB

After watching "A Hard Day's Night", I was hoping
for another fun movie from the Boys! Unfortunately,
this was pretty bad! Almost no recognizable songs,
a plot right out of Pink Panther, poor acting and
just an all around bad movie! If it wasn't The Beatles,
not to be punny but this movie coulda used a lot of Help!
I would give this a D, but because of the Fab Four,
I'll give it a C

From IMDb.com:
...What kind of movie, you might ask? Comedy?
Spy Thriller? Or just zany madcap nonsense? It
doesn't matter. I've seen it many times over the
past 30 years and it just gets better with age.
The music of course, is phenomenal-and you don't
have to be a die-hard Beatles fan to appreciate
this musical comedy masterpiece.

I am a bealtes fan, as others are,too (Duh). I
thought some parts of this movie trailed off
into nothing, but in all it was pretty good.
the midget, the fat lady, even the stripper

weird film making style rent this movie, but
if you just want a movie with solid story and
plot then, well you're the fool on the

It's not even the best anime ever made! Hell,
it's not even the best Beatle movie made!! Very
colorful, and some good music, but not a movie that
I would watch again!! It doesn't help that none of
the Boys are doing their own voices!! C+

From IMDb.com:
I bet you're thinking, "another Beatles movie?"
but that's not really what this is. A wonderfully
vibrant and gorgeous cartoon, and a treat for the
eye and ear. This is how vivid and bright all
cartoons should be. Great soundtrack of course,
and the Beatles make a real cameo at the very
end. Watch if you are a Beatle fan like me, or
simply if you want a fun cartoon. They did a
wonderful job remastering and cleaning it
up. - Adriane
