NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM(2006):
This is a lot of fun with some of the best comedians of
our time!! Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Paul Rudd, Anne
Meara, Brad Garrett, Owen Wilson, and icons Dick Van
Dyke and Mickey Rooney!!!! A very good, fun film! A
From an IMDb.com customer:
Don't go into this movie expecting a complex plot and
deep insight into the human condition. The story and
plot are lightweight but that doesn't matter too much.
The characters are likable enough and the situation is
definitely full of possibilities.
The humor is silly and well-done slapstick without much
in the way of vulgarity. I especially enjoyed the antics
and heroics of the miniature Cowboys, Mayans and
Romans. (Though my inner stickler was a tad annoyed
with slight shifts in their scale.)
I recommend it for family viewing. My 8-year-old was
in stitches AND asking me questions about history after
the movie. - mreliae

Not as great as the first, but still quite fun, with
most of the same comedians from the first, sans
Dick and Mickey! Well worth a few watches!! B+
From an IMDb.com customer:
When I saw the trailer for this, I was pretty excited.
I loved the whole premise of the first one, and having
a sequel opened up whole new opportunities. I was
excited when I saw all these famous characters from
history being mashed together, Al Capone, Napoleon
Bonaparte, Amelia Earhart, to name a few.
I walked into the theater not expecting to much, but
when I left I was very happy with it. They handled
every characters personality beautifully, and the
inside jokes were hilarious. I don't want to give much
away, but trust me, you'll laugh. It tackles many
themes like, a house divided cannot stand, the way
to happiness is doing what you love, don't dwell on
the past, etc. For a family flick they handle this
jumbled cast of characters with complex personalities
amazingly. They threw away most of the characters
from the first movie to make way for the newer
characters, which I didn't like that much, but how
many characters can you throw in a story to have
it make sense?
This film is an amazing example of a movie made
for kids and adults. Kids will enjoy the silly humor,
and the monkey. While adults will laugh at the
onslaught of in-jokes, and trust me, there's a lot.
All in all, this was a great movie, blew me away.
The highlight for me was Hank Azaria, that lisp
kills me every time. - bjohnt

It's wonderful seeing these wonderful comedians
one more time, especially Dick Van Dyke and
Mickey Rooney(in his last role)!! Also, Robin
Williams returns in one of his last roles, kinda
nostalgic!!
As for the movie, as expected, it's not up to
the first two, but still pretty fun!! B+
From an IMDb.com customer:
While viewing the film it is rather sad watching
the final performance of Mickey Rooney who played
Gus in the first film and robin Williams in one of
his final film roles as Theodore Roosevelt who
loons rather sad and not his usual energetic self
but I think he manages to do a decent job in the
role. In this installment, the tablet that keeps
the exhibits alive at night is starting to lose its
power and the only way to prevent the magic
from disappearing is going to the British museum
which would be able to restore the power of
the tablet back to its glory, I will say while in
some ways it closes one chapter being Larry
daily but leaves the story to continue with
another. - monstermayhem32
