SHAUN OF THE DEAD(2003):
I saw this when it first came out on DVD and at
the time thought it was very funny! Just watched it
in 2025, and it's not as funny as I remembered! C+

The first of the Cornetto trilogy, sees Shaun, his
mum and a small bunch of friends battling a hoard of
flesh eating zombies.
I'm staggered to see an IMDb rating of 7.9, what on
Earth have some people seen, that I haven't, it's an
out and out classic. Shaun of The Dead is an absolute
riot, a mix of horror and comedy, with a very British
flavour.
It's one of those films that simply doesn't get tired,
it doesn't matter how many times you watch it, it is
just so appealing.
Can't decide what the best bit is, there are so many
contenders, but final encounter in the pub, and zombie
girl in the garden, there are a hoard of moments that
can be chosen.
Zombie comedies had been tried before, and have been
tried since, but none even come close to this, Pegg
and Frost nailed it.

After re-watching Shaun Of The Dead, I held little
hope for this movie! Boy, was I wrong! This is an
excedllent movie!! One definately worth watching!! A

WORLD'S END, THE(2013)
This goes incredibly slow at the start, then
picks up in the middle, the just gets really
stupid at the end!! Had possiblities, but fell
flat!! C-

Normally I really enjoy movies written by Simon Pegg.
I especially liked Shaun of the Dead and Paul. This
movie really stumbled.
Remember that scene in Shaun of the Dead in which they
decide the best thing to do is head toward a pub and
defend themselves from the zombie horde from there?
This movie makes that idea its central theme, changing
the zombies into some sort of alien robots, and
multiplying the pubs. That's it.
Paul had me laughing out loud every minute or two,
and I never get tired of watching it. The World's
End gave me just a couple of chuckles throughout
the film. And I almost nodded off several times.
The setup before the robots appeared was too long
and tedious, and after the robots appeared I couldn't
quite understand why our characters kept running from
pub to pub. And worse, I didn't much care.
It just wasn't silly enough, witty enough, or clever
