First things first, there are no closed captions!!
I like horse racing and that's what this movie is based
around! I like Clark Gable, the star of this! I have enjoyed
some of the Jean Harlow movies I've seen! Put this all together
and this should be a really great movie for me! Not so much!
Perhaps the biggest problem is that Jean was quite sick while
making this film, and in fact died before it was finished!
Sad indeed! It seems she lacked the energy she had in her
other movies! And the rest of the cast couldn't make up for
this! Don't get me wrong, this is a decent movie, just not as
great as I expected!! B

This movie is a real treat for classic movie lovers! The
star-studded cast includes Jean Harlow, Clark Gable,
Hattie McDaniel and Lionel Barrymore. It is especially
interesting for all Gone With The Wind lovers to see Hattie
McDaniel (Mammy) and Clark Gable (Rhett) work together
two years prior to GWTW. Jean Harlow is absolutely beautiful
and really shows her acting talent in this movie. It is
bittersweet to watch though, considering this was Harlow's
last film. The actress worked as long as she could until
the physical pain of her illness became too much and she
passed away at a very young age before filming completed.
The stand-in scenes are very obvious, but fortunately
doesn't take away from the magic that Ms. Harlow contributed
and therefore set a tone for the movie.I love this movie,
and highly recommend to anyone who wants a good storyline
