STEVEN SEAGAL 4 FILM FAVORITES:
Four movies by one of the kings of action, Steven Seagal!! These are
surprisingly in good visual shape, and believe it or not they have closed
captioning, which is a good thing cause Seagal just doesn't know how to
speak so you can hear him!!
UNDER SIEGE(1992)
There's a lot of people who don't like Steven
Seagal, or his movies, but I really liked this one!
Not only are the settings really good, but the
music and acting are pretty decent too! And
Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey, Patrick O'Neal
and Colm Meany do excellent jobs in their roles!
A much better film than I would have expected! B+
From IMDb.com:
Steven Seagal might not be Arnold Schwarzenneger
or Bruce Willis, but Under Siege quickly became
one of 1992's most successful films, earning Seagal
a fine reputation as a good action star. Andrew
Davis directed the film about a US Battleship that
has been taken over by Tommy Lee Jones and Gary
Busey and it's up to Steven Seagal, whom acts as
a chef cook, but is really an Ex-Navy Seal to save
the day with the help of the ever sexy Erika Eleniak
playing Miss July 1989. Jones and Busey particularly
are great as the two villians and the action scenes
and karate moves from Seagal are quite well
choregraphed with a fine score by Gary Chang.
The supportive cast, topped off by Patrick Adams,
Colm Mehoney, Nick Mancuso, Andy Romano,
Troy Evans, Glenn Morshower, Dennis Lipscomb
and Damian Chapa all turn in fine and impressive
even humerous performances. Highly recommended
for fans of the action genre. - (eddy-28)

A review from an IMDb.com customer:
In Viet Nam they called him "The Glimmer Man". As a homicide
cop they all tend to think of him as trouble. A renegade New
York cop(Steven Seagal) with a not so perfect background is
transferred to L.A., where his actions make him a prime suspect
in a series of murders. It takes time for the soft spoken,
new age cop to get the respect of his partner(Kennen Ivory
Wayans).Typical strong violence with well paced martial
arts displayed. Not much different from any other Seagal
movie, but not as good as some. - michaelRokeefe

A review from IMDb.com:
I was pleasantly surprised by "Fire Down Below". I am sure that
locals played a large part in this film shot in Eastern Kentucky.
It was well done and Seagal did just what he had to do in an
action film.
The scenery was magnificent. The acting up to par. The special
effects were much better than average.
And ugly men can appeal to young women. Marg Helgenberger
certainly is a beautiful young woman. And as an actress
she gave an adequate performance and I am sure will continue
to improve.
I enjoyed the film. - Nimbo

A review from IMDb.com:
Above The Law(called Nico in Norway)is Steven Seagal`s first film,
and it`s still a good film. Steven Seagal plays Nico Toscani, a
hard-boiled cop, who`ll do anything to get the bad guys. On a bust,
Nico discovers C-4, with which he is familiar with from his own past
as a CIA-agent in Kambodja. The FBI drop the case against the man,
who had C-4 in his car, but Nico continues to investigate on his
own. Above The Law is good, violent and oldfashioned fun, and is
definetely worth a look for the hardcore actionfan or Seagal-fan.
