SHERLOCK HOLMES ROBERT DOWNEY SET MOVIE PAGE
The two movies released so far as of 4/3/21! It
is perorted that there is a Sherlock Holmes 3 in
the works to be released in 2021, but nothing as
of 4/3/21 is confirmed definite!
SHERLOCK HOLMES(2009)
This presents Holmes as a much more "hands-on"
kind of sleuth! And by hands-on, I mean he is
considerably more physical, bordering on the
edge of being a "super-hero" in the likes of
Batman or Daredevil!! While this is very
entertaining, it certainly doesn't bare much
resemblance to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's well-
known detective!
The settings are great looking old-time London
with cobblestone streets and horse and buggy
rides!!
Anyway, the basic story is that at the beginning
of the movie, Holmes and Watson put a certain
Lord Blackwood in jail and he's scheduled to be
executed! His last request is to see Holmes, which
starts a downword spiral for Sherlock and Watson
is determined to help him! And of course, there's
still the problem with Blackwood!! Still, as I
said, quite a bit of fun!! B+

I absolutely loved it. It was thrilling, funny,
stylish, fast-paced and brilliantly acted.
Downey Jr. is a delight to look at. He eats up
the screen. He gives the character all sorts of
mannerisms and nuances which really bring
Holmes to life like never before. The chemistry
and interplay between him and Jude Law is hilarious.
I wasn't a big fan of Rachel McAdams's performance,
but it didn't detract from the experience. I felt
she just didn't bring as much to the table as the
others. (Kinda like Katie Holmes in Batman Begins.)
Guy Ritchie really outdoes himself here. The way
he uses the camera, the motion, the fluidity,
he snappy pacing - I loved every minute of it.
A really fantastic movie. Well done. - Potty-Man

A GAME OF SHADOWS(2012)
This one picks up where the last one left off!
Pretty much more of the same type of stuff here
with the main antagonist being the good Professor
Moriarty! While I haven't been a big fan of the
Moriarty/Holmes movies of the past, this one is
pretty upbeat and has a lot of action! Downey and
Law return to reprise their roles, which they do
admirably! Still, though, a far cry from Rathbone
and Bruce!! The ending sets up for another sequel
which, as of 2017, still hasn't materialized! A-

This movie was absolutely fantastic. I have
been waiting for it for what feels like forever
now and it truly did not disappoint. The storyline
was clever, the dynamic between Watson and
Holmes was charming and beautiful, and the
effects were incredible. Honestly, as much of
a fan I am of the first movie, its sequel surpassed
it and my overall expectation. Some the effects
were unnecessary at times, but I really enjoy
the style in which these movies are edited.
t can be slightly confusing periodically, another
reason to rewatch, still pay attention closely.
Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr.'s chemistry
was compelling and the supporting actors
were on par. I laughed, I nearly screamed,
and I even cried. Game of Shadows is gripping,
exciting, hilarious,and even draws tears. You'll
be cheering throughout and satisfied with the
end. Too be honest, it is absolutely one of the
