STAKEOUT SET:
The two Stakeout movies starring Richard Dreyfuss
and Emilio Estevez!
Stakeout(1987)
This is a pretty good show, not superb but still a lot
of fun! Dreyfuss and Estevez do a good job of being
"buddy" cops, on a serveillence duty watching a
woman who's the ex-girlfriend of an escaped convict!
Dreyfuss proceeds to fall for the woman and things
get difficult from there!! B
From IMDb.com:
Richard Montgomery (Aidan Quinn) makes a daring
escape with the help of his cousin Caylor Reese (Ian
Tracey). He killed an FBI agent and then they killed
a prison guard. Chris Lecce (Richard Dreyfuss) and
Bill Reimers (Emilio Estevez) are assigned to stakeout
his old girlfriend Maria McGuire (Madeleine Stowe).
Phil Coldshank (Dan Lauria) and Jack Pismo (Forest
Whitaker) are the other two cops assigned the other
half of the stakeout. She's suppose to be 313 lbs but
instead, Chris starts falling for the beautiful McGuire.
This has some mildly funny moments. Estevez is solid
as the happily married man. Dreyfuss is the one with
the fun brash single guy. They have good chemistry
together and it's mostly a good buddy cop movie. It's
missing some bigger laughs. The guys are not necessarily
comedians for that to work. - SnoopyStyle

This is really an anomaly!! As one would expect,
the sequel to a hit movie is not quite up to par
with the original, but not in this case!! This movie
is quite a bit better than the first! Perhaps it's Rosie
O'Donnell, perhaps it's the setting(part is shot in Las
Vegas!), or maybe the plot is a little more interesting!
Whatever the reason, this one is fun! B+
From IMDb.com:
Where to start... I genuinely appreciated Rosie
O'Donnels performance in this film. Totally believable.
The action scenes were epic, and I think influenced
a lot of movies that came after it... specifically
buddy cop sequels. The jokes were hilarious and
the comedic timing was perfect. It was the first
time I've seen a storyline like this in a story about
cops. So that was very refreshing for me. Richard
Dreyfuss and Emelio Estevez... A duo that you
wouldn't expect to see on film... But wow... Total
chemistry!! Line after line was just gold for me.
I highly recommend this movie. I've told all my
friends about it and they agree. - ryan-george-2
