DC SET:
These are all based around the "new" DC Universe
of superheroes! Noticably missing in acttion is
Green Lantern!
SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL(2013)
Ok, finally watched this movie. Only took a year!! LOL!
Anyway, I had really low expectations for this as it was
hailed as a "re-boot" of the Superman lore! If you are a
Superman affectionado, you will not care for much of
this movie, as, just like the re-boot of Star Trek, it doesn't
just take liberties with the lore, it smashes it to Hell!!
Which is really too bad! As with Star Trek, if they had
stuck to the lore this would be hailed as nearly, if not,
as good as Superman The Movie!! It was basically a
re-telling of the second Superman movie, Superman II.
The story was really good, the acting was good, script
was good, and the music was appropriate! Henry Cavill
was a good choice for Superman/Clark, though will never
make anyone forget Christopher Reeve! Amy Adams
was good as Lois. But there is no Jimmy Olsen! And
no nod to any of the previous incarnations of Superman!
That was disappointing to me! And Perry White
black!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??? Other than that, this really was
a great movie! Just not up to the previous Christopher
Reeve outing!
A little jarring is the full-frontal nudity in the
form of Kal-El as a baby!! While it didn't bother me
I'm sure that there are those overly prude people out
there that I'm sure where totally offended!! B+
As with others on this set, there are several specials:
Superman 75th Anniversary Animated Short;
New Zealand: Home of Middle-earth(this is really neat!!);
Strong Characters, Legendary Roles;
All-Put Action;
Krypton Decoded!
From IMDb.com:
I have never been a hardcore superman fan, but I
was fortunate enough to see an early showing of
Zack Snyder's reboot. And I must say, I am quite
impressed. Casual moviegoers and superhero fans
will find something to enjoy. Man of Steel has great
wreck- everything action that makes full use of 3D
effects and simply looks awesome. The story is decently
paced, and fueled by strong performances by Michael
Shannon and Russell Crow(e). The character Perry
White wasn't used to his full potential, but that's
forgivable. If you're a fan of classic Superman, you
might be disappointed by the fact that this man of
steel is pretty up- tight. He has only two or three
lines that are humorous, making him less charming
then the Christopher Reeve superman. The charm
is replaced by the character development the man
of steel experiences when he must choose between
his past and his future. (that makes for an awesome
showdown, by the way.) To summarize, I give Man
of Steel an 8.6 for it's portrayal of a classic American
hero. - gamerzach7

First things first, while I didn't particularly care for this movie
mainly because of its darkness, this is a must watch!! For this
is a lead in to the new JLA movie that's being produced!!!
Ok, so here we go! This tries to give a beginning to the lore of
Batman and Superman's partnership together! Problem, this is
a horrible mish mash, with it jumping around all over the place!!
Not only that, but this is, if it's possible, the darkest DC movie ever
created!! Again, it's DC trying to be Marvel, and I don't like it at all!!
It's all based around Lex Luthor trying to pit Batman against Supeman,
using Lois, then Superman's mother, for what purpose, unknown,
and unexplained!! I did not enjoy this at all, and had to really force
myself to watch the whole thing!!!
If you've read the comics about Doomsday, this is that story AGAIN
being rehashed in AGAIN a different light!!
The only bright spots for me was a cameo by Aquaman, Flash, &
Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman showing up to help out, and
an indication of the upcoming JLA movie! B-

(Executive Producer) & Amy Adams(Lois Lane)! What WERE they thinking when they came
up with this version of Lex??!!? Just a little too much Joker for me!!
SAVE THE BATS:
Zack Snyder(Director), Rob Mies(Executive Director, Organization for Bat Canseration),
Ben Affleck(Batman/Bruce Wayne), Wesley Coller(Executive Producer), Amy Adams(Lois
Lane), Georgia Mies, Darren Le Gallo, Clay Enos, Adam Forman! Several of the people shown
here are unknown, probably either related to a member of the crew, or an actual member
of the crew that are fairly unknown!! This was a special made to try to preserve the bat
population that have contracted what's called the "white-nose" ailment!!
From IMDb.com:
While this movie was much anticipated and had the potential for
a good movie, it fell short. There really was not a consistent plot
line. It seemed that they just tried to get too much into one movie.
We pretty much know the background of Batman and Superman,
so those sequences did little more than disrupt the flow of the movie.
Some background on Wonder Woman might have been more useful.
There were just too many characters and too many sub plots to have
a movie with any character development or plot continuity. I am
surprised that they did not send Aquaman in to save Lois Lane in
the drowning scene. With the scope they tried to cover, this should
have been a 2 part or trilogy event. - jsaus63304

First things first, some of the music in this is
very good!
Not thrilled with the Leto Joker! Course they'll never
be another Jack!!
Will does good as Deadshot, Margo Robbie is phenomenal
as HQ!!
Now for the story, not good! Way too many holes and not
enough continuity! It jumps around too much! And Let's
face it, the basis for the story, bad guys trying to help
someone, anyone, is ludicris!! Still though it's entertaining
enough, just don't expect a Superman or Batman quality! B

From IMDb.com:
Great cast and a big budget couldn't save this from
being an inevitable flop by critics. There was just
no substance to the story. Cringe-worthy moments.
Basically you watch a whole bunch of villain misfits
walking down the street having moments with each
other while on their little silly quest that brought
them somehow together. Nice try DC. - nickspiros

First things first, the CC on this is really, REALLY bad!!!!
Most people know the old story of the origin of Wonder
Woman! This doesn't veer too far from her origin, at
the first! One of the biggest changes is that this takes
place during WWI!
The cruxt of the story is that Steve is shot down just
shy of Paradise Island(Themyscira) and the home of the
Amazons! Diana saves him and he tells them of horrors
that are going on outside of their little Island! Diana
goes with Steve to the real world where they battle the
evils going on there! Including fighting the God of War,
Ares!
Not as bad as some make it out to be, but certainly not
the best superhero movie ever made(see the original
Superman for that!)! The biggest drawback for me is the
killing of an iconic figure - DUMB!!!!!! B+

You would think with Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman,
Cyborg(??) and Superman, this couldn't possibly miss! And
you'd be right! This is a great superhero movie, and each
character gets his hour! Not Earth shattering, but still a
great first team-up of the world's greatest heroes! I just
hope the next one has Green Lantern, Hawkman, Green Arrow,
Atom & some of the other great members of the team!! A

From IMDb.com:
Hey, don't go with high expectations, the movie
is far away from epic, but it's pretty fine and
funny, I enjoyed a lot of stuff, the characters
are awesome! Even Steppenwolf isn't the lame they
said, he is just not memorable, he's OK, a generic
villain who delivers what everyone should expect
(come on, it's Steppenwolf, why would you guys
expect a mind blower villain here?) The plot is
simple and works. The only fatal flaw for a huge
fan of DC is the return of Superman, damn, that's
was sooo weird :/ And Zimmer would be so much better
than Danny was, buuut there's nothing we can do about
it now, at least it's nostalgic. - ig-bic
