BOSTON LEGAL SEASON 2(2004)
The great James Spader(Stargate[movie], The Blacklist)
and William Shatner! I avoided this series when it was
first airing until my lovely wife kept saying she thought
I would like it, and to appease her, I watched! And I
watched more! This became my second favorite TV drama of
time, right behind The West Wing!!
And the rest of the main cast were excellent: Rene
Auberjoinois, Mark Valley and Candace Bergman were
all great! And there's a superurb plethera of support
from guest stars!
An absolute must watch TV series!!
EPISODE # 1: THE BLACK WIDOW(Sept. 27, 2005):
Denny, Alan & Brad defend a woman known as "The Black
Widow" for killing her husband; a mute woman accuses a
man of groping her in an ally, being represented by
Tara; a Jewish man's suing a companty for discrimination
when they start forcing employees to attend worship services
at the company(Denise)!!

EPISODE # 2: SCHADENFREUDE(Oct. 04, 2005):
Still defending the "Black Widow"; Denise's husband is
filing for divorce and she, along with Sarah and Garrett,
are trying to come to an equatible compromise; an entertainer
who is related to Edwin Starr wants to include his most
famous song "War" in his set and the dude who runs the
establishment thinks that it's unamerican and forbids it;
Catherine befriends Bernard and finds that perhaps that
wasn't a good idea!! B+

EPISODE # 3: FINDING NIMMO(Oct. 11, 2005):
Resolutions for the Black Widow case and Catherine and
Bernard's relationship, which for Catherine puts her in
an even worse situation; Denny and Alan go to Canada to
fish and relax! B
EPISODE # 4: A WHIFF AND A PRAYER(Oct. 18, 2005):
A senator who made a promise to raise the question of
gun control doesn't and is sued by the man who financed
his run for office; Catherie is up for the murder of Bernard;
the preist from the previous episode blackmails Sara and
Garrett! B
EPISODE # 5: MEN TO BOYS(Oct. 25, 2005):
Denny is being sued by Lori for sexual harrassment;
Catherine gets fired; Denise is representing a man
whose wife was killed in a fire that has been going
on for over three years! B
EPISODE # 6: WITCHES OF MASS DESTRUCTION(Nov. 01, 2005):
Shirley and Denise represent Wiccans and Christians who
both want to stop a Halloween party at a school; Alan
represents a woman(who happens to be close to Grant) who
lost her brother in the Iraquie war!

EPISODE # 7: TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY(Nov. 08, 2005):
Denny is gets appointed to defend a man who raped and killed
a thirteen year old girl, and he REALLY doesn't want to; Alan
and Brad defend a company against a - wait for it - CLOWN,
and it turns out that Alan has an inordinate fear of clowns;
Shirley assigns an unusual case where a woman wants to get
an annulment because he, well, fell in love with a cow!! B+
EPISODE # 8: THE ASS FAT JUNGLE(Nov. 15, 2005):
Denise defends a man who shot his own fat(from his ass) into
womens' lips(including Denise!); Alan's having night terrors;
a client's son runs over a man(he did it), and Shirley has
to recuse a witness because of alzhimer's! A
EPISODE # 9: GONE(Dec. 06, 2005):
Alan and Denny walk past a poor man who asks for change and
ignore him, prompting him to throw a rock and hit Denny in
the head, prompting Denny to shoot him between the eyes, with
a paint gun; Denise's maid's son gets kidnapped which prompts
her and Brad to "go undercover"!! B+
EPISODE # 10: LEGAL DEFICITS(Dec. 13, 2005):
Brad has his day in court, represented by Denny and Shirley;
Alan is representing his secretary, Melissa, who is in deep
financial trouble!

EPISODE # 11: THE CANCER MAN CAN(Jan. 10, 2006):
A rich man bribes a pharmacutical company to make sure
that he gets the real deal when there's a clinical test
of a drug for cancer; there's a partnership up for grabs
and Jerry Espensen is really wanting it, and Alan tries
to help him!

EPISODE # 12: HELPING HANDS(Jan. 17, 2006):
Jerry doesn't get the partnership and goes nuts; the
man in the cancer research has affections for Denise!

EPISODE # 13: TOO MUCH INFORMATION(Jan. 24, 2006)
Alan and Denise represent a girl suing a company for releasing
information on their mother's whereabouts which leads to her
being killed by her wacko ex-husband; Alan also defends Catherine
when she starts robbing convenience stores; Shirley, Paul & Brad
are trying to save Denny from himself(and a woman who he thinks
he's in love with!)!

EPISODE # 14: BREAST IN SHOW(Feb. 07, 2006):
Alan is dating a gal and she needs defending when she goes
topless at a protest rally; Daniel Post invites Denise to
his "funeral"; Denny's "fiance" is still causing trouble
at the office; and Catherine is being a pain in the ass at
said office!!!
Once more with Betty White! B+
EPISODE # 15: SMILE(Feb. 14, 2006):
A 9 year old girl is having probles trying to get into a
exclusive school because she CAN'T smile(Alan to the rescue);
Denny and Shirley represent a girl who was raped and not
allowed to use the "morning after pill" because it was against
the hospital's strict relisious code; Denny assugns Brad to
represent his growing pain in the ass girlfriend to stop a
cat from being taken off life support(yup, you read that right!)

EPISODE # 16: LIVE BIG(Feb. 21, 2006):
One on Shirley's exs wants her to be his "best man";
Alan and Denny represent a man who's on trial for killing
his wife when she asks him to; Paul starts missing his
extranged daughter!

Denny gets hitched, in more ways than one; Alan represents a
woman fired for smoking(not at work); !

Paul meets up with his daughter and he has suspicions
that she may be back on drugs; Shirley asks Alan to stop

Denny grabs a case about a man who was injured when he broke
into another man's house with a specialized protection that
shocks the perp and he's now suing for damages!!! A-
EPISODE # 19: STICK IT(Mar. 14, 2006):
Melissa is being thrown in jail and prosicuted for tax
evasion, which Alan goes to bat for; Paul digs deeper in
his daughter's drug problems; a dude pulls Denise over and
winds up in jail for impersonating a police officer, and
she defends him!!

EPISODE # 20: CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG(Mar. 21, 2006):
A man and woman are getting a divorce and he wants to
make sure he keeps his porn!; Christine wants Alan to help
out an elderly woman who's being taken advantage of by her
financial conservitor!

EPISODE # 21: WORD SALAD DAYS(Mar. 28, 2006):
This one's mostly about Alan and Denny, as Alen was summing
up a case, he suddenly started spewing of "gibber-jabber" for
real; Brad and Paul are defending a game maker from murder
charges where a woman's son died from playing one of his games;
Denise is defending a man and his wives from bigamy charges!! A
EPISODE # 22: IVAN THE INCORRIGIBLE(Apr. 18, 2006):
Ivan's back and still after Shiirley; Alan helps Jerry on
a case involving a man who attacked the man who killed his
son!

EPISODE # 23: RACE IPSA(Apr. 25, 2006):
Denny shoots his threopist; a black man is arrested for
looking at houses in an all white neighborhood! A

represents a man who brubg a suit against a large snack company;
Denny helps Alan with his stint in court for not suggesting that
his client skip the area! A

An old lawyer wants to be frozen to be awakedned later;
a principal at a school cuts off access to Fox New(never
actually named as such, but come on!) and is being brought
to court by Alan and Chelina representing some of the students
at that school!!

I don't know, for a guy in his early 70's who has been
royally and unfairly panned for his entire career, William
Shatner as Denny Crane may be the absolute highlight of
his long career! What a role and what a show. My ultimate
benchmark as to how good a show is how fast I am back to
that show during the commercial breaks. Didn't miss one
second of Boston Legal so I guess that tells you that I
liked it a lot. Of course the "Shat Man" drew me in but
the overall show got me hooked. Well worth the late hour
on Sundays. Rene Auberjonois ( of DS 9 fame) was an added
