BOSTON LEGAL SEASON 4(2004)
The great James Spader(Stargate[movie], The Blacklist)
and William Shatner! I avoided this series when it was
first airing until my lovely wife kept saying she thought
I would like it, and to appease her, I watched! And I
watched more! This became my second favorite TV drama of
time, right behind The West Wing!!
And the rest of the main cast were excellent: Rene
Auberjoinois, Mark Valley and Candace Bergman were
all great! And there's a superurb plethera of support
from guest stars!
An absolute must watch TV series!!
EPISODE # 1: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST(Sept. 25, 2007):
Another new face: Carl Sack, who is brought in to act
as an enforcer to straighten up the office; Alan represents
Shirley for renigging on a donation she made; and of
couse we now have other new faces and old ones gone:
gone are Brad and Denise(although Brad is here in a new
capacity as a DA), new are Katie and Lorraine, and Lorraing
is given an "unwinnable" murder case to which Clarence
and Alan help with!
Also, Carl gives Clarence an ultimatum: drop out of the
talent contest he's in(because he's doing it as Clarice)
or get fired!!

The results of the "unwinnable" murder case! B+

EPISODE # 3: THE CHICKEN AND THE LEG(Oct. 09, 2007):
Carl and Denny bet on a case where Carl has to defend a
man who is involved in cock fighting; a 15 year old wants
to sue her school for not doing more to give kids alternatives
for protection after she turns up HIV positive; Jerry really
likes the new gal!
Guest starring: Henry Gibson returns! A-
EPISODE # 4: DO TELL(Oct. 16, 2007):
A friend of both Denny and Shirley who's a General in
the Army gets kicked out for coming out as gay; Amy and
Katie takes a case of a man whose son is a bullfighter and his
American wife wants full custody; Alan's word salad returns;
Denny finds out about Shirley and Carl!
Another great Dean Martin song here: "Everybody Loves Somebody"!!

EPISODE # 5: HOPE AND GORY(Oct. 30, 2007):
Alan represents a woman who killed the man who kille her
daughter; the continuing saga of Joseph Washington who
now needs help getting his name cleared of the rape
charge! B+
EPISODE # 6: THE OBJECT OF MY AFFECTION(Nov. 06, 2007):
A woman with Asperger's comes to Jerry to get her lover
back(a phone box); Alan is still defending the woman
from the previous episode! B+
EPISODE # 7: ATTACK OF THE XENOPHOBES(Nov. 13, 2007):
Denny fires a worker for being fat(his words) and
Alan has to defend him AGAIN; the girls defend a
cop against murder when he killed
an unarmed black man! B
EPISODE # 8: ORAL CONTRACT(Dec. 04, 2007):
AAAAANNNNNDDDDD Alan has to defend Denny AGAIN when he
unwittingly sends the wrong message while taking a crap;
Shirley defends a shock jock when he says that all the
old people should die; Katie doesn't believe Lorrain's
story about where she came from! A
EPISODE # 9: NO BRAINS LEFT BEHIND(Dec. 11, 2007):
Shirley defends her granddaughter for shredding test;
Alan and Denny sue the Coast Guard for derilicion of
duties; two of the girls in the office are still digging
on Lorrain's background! B+
EPISODE # 10: GREEN CHRISTMAS(Dec. 18, 2007):
Denny loses a 7 figure account and gets sued all in one
shot; Clarence's house is in foreclosure!

EPISODE # 11: MAD ABOUT YOU(Jan. 15, 2008):
Denny represents a woman who killed her husband and he bribes
a psychologist to testify for their defendent; Jerry and Katie
defend a woman against divorce! A-
EPISODE # 12: ROE VS WADE: THE MUSICAL(Jan. 23, 2008):
Missy from last season shows up and tells Shirley that she's
pregnant with a African baby; the father shows up and asks
Alan to stop said pregnancy; Jerry represents his former girlfriend
in a unlawful termination suit for hugging a student! B+
EPISODE # 13: GLOW IN THE DARK(Feb. 12, 2008)
The whole story is about a woman who comes to the firm to
ask them to help her stop a neuclear plant from being built
in her town, and her lawyer being an old flame of Shirley's;
oh, and Jerry's flame is trying to get him and Katie to not
associate with him!! B+
EPISODE # 14: RESCUE ME(Feb. 19, 2008):
Carl represents the same woman from last episode for being
given a fake ring instead of her husbands cremated remains
made into a diamond one; Katie represents a man who had
AIDS and was given lifetime coverage for him in return for
giving the insurance company his life insurance when he
dies, but fortunately for the man he was cured and now
the insurance company is reniging on the offer; Lorraine
represents a woman who wants to sue her pastor for breach
of promise when he breaks up with her! Denny and Alan are
preparing for the Coast Guard! B+
EPISODE # 15: TABLOID NATION(Apr. 08, 2008):
An old friend of Shirley's asks her to represent him for
shooting seals; Alan represents a man who's daughter was
killed by her ex-boyfriend after being on a shock-talk
TV show; Denny's walking around the office without pants
on!! B+
EPISODE # 16: THE MIGHTY ROGUES(Apr. 15, 2008):
Shirley's father has Alzhimer's and getting much worse;
Carl asks for help to get an atomic bomb for Nantucket
and goes to Katie and Clarence for help; Jerry is being
sued for sexual assault and Lorraine represents him! A
EPISODE # 17: THE COURT SUPREME(Mar. 22, 2008):
Jerry has a new girlfriend - and she's a hooker; Alan
is asked to present a case to the Supreme Court about a
slow man's(IQ 70) rape of an 8 year old, and he brings
along Denny! A-
EPISODE # 18: INDECENT PROPOSALS(Apr. 30, 2008):
A delegate to the DNC is planning to vote for the other
candidate instead of the one who won the vote and he's
Shirley's snotty little nephew and she's the one bringing
the suit and Alan is the lawyer she chose to present it
in court; Denny represents a woman suing a company that
is cloning cattle for sell as an alternative to the real
thing!
A very funny opening all and ending about Boston Legal's
time slot! A
EPISODE # 19: THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY(May 14, 2008):
Denny Crane for president; the woman from a few episodes back
is back and suing the Catholic church for not allowying her
to be a Priest and is represented by Alan and Shirley; Jerry's
old girlfriend is arrested for being a call girl! A-
EPISODE # 20: PATRIOT ACTS(May 21, 2008):
A city wants to ceceed from the country and Alan takes the
case while a furious Crane takes the other side which taxes
their friendship; Alan and Denny find out they made it into
the Coast Guard!! A-

THE NEW KIDS ON THE COURTROOM FLOOR

I don't know, for a guy in his early 70's who has been
royally and unfairly panned for his entire career, William
Shatner as Denny Crane may be the absolute highlight of
his long career! What a role and what a show. My ultimate
benchmark as to how good a show is how fast I am back to
that show during the commercial breaks. Didn't miss one
second of Boston Legal so I guess that tells you that I
liked it a lot. Of course the "Shat Man" drew me in but
the overall show got me hooked. Well worth the late hour
on Sundays. Rene Auberjonois ( of DS 9 fame) was an added
