EPISODE # 71: October 03, 1966:
Roger is pressuring the sheriff to wrap up
the case about Bill! I wonder why! He also
takes Vicky on a tour of the cannery, police
and the local diner!! A-
EPISODE # 72: October 04, 1966:
After her tour of the town, Burke offers to
take Vicky home, and Carolyn goes ballistic!
More on Mrs. Johnson's attempt to work at
Collinswood! Carolyn's fangs are showing!!! A-
EPISODE # 73: October 05, 1966:
Sam just happens to pass by the sheriff's office!
The sheriff is being very coy about the whole thing
and plays with Sam's fears! David and Elizabeth have
a talk about the fact that he likes Burke and that
he treats him good! This of course doesn't set well
with Liz!
As for the coroner's report: Accident! You can
guess how this is going to go over with Burke! A
EPISODE # 74: October 06, 1966:
Roger is extatic, Burke Furious and Sam worried!!
And Elizabeth, she is a little more realistic!!
Meanwhile, David is visiting Burke discussing who
really did kill Bill! And then in walks Carolyn! A-
EPISODE # 75: October 07, 1966:
Carolyn talks with Roger about the pen he took
from her the day that Bill died! Vicky, meanwhile,
goes for a walk up to Lookout Point and guess
what she finds!!! A
EPISODE # 76: October 10, 1966:
Burke has made his plans known to Elizabeth, Roger
and the rest! This disappoints both Vicky and
Carolyn! Roger is keen to go ahead and sell the
place to Roger(gee, I wonder why)!! Elizabeth tells
Burke to go fly a kite and be ready for a fight! A
EPISODE # 77: October 11, 1966:
Elizabeth has a conversation with David and says
that he needs to choose between Burke and her and
the family! A
EPISODE # 78: October 12, 1966:
Almost a throwaway episode where nothing really
happens except a bunch of bickering between Roger
and just about everyone who's not a Collins!! A-
EPISODE # 79: October 13, 1966:
Mrs. Johnson meets up with Burke to let him
know what's happening! Burke re-itteratest that
his main goal in life is to get Collinwood and
all it represents and to avenge Bills death! A
EPISODE # 80: October 14, 1966:
The Pen, The Pen, my kingdom for the pen! Roger
is frantically looking for the pen he lost when,
well, you know! Roger is against Mrs. Johnson
becoming the housekeeper. Carolyn has a date
with Joe! And everyone's wondering what David's
up to! And Roger finds out that Vicky found the
pen! A
EPISODE # 81: October 17, 1966:
Matthew meets up with Burke to tell him that
he shouldn't be bothering the Collins'! Mrs.
Johnson gets an interview with Elizabeth for
the housekeeping job, which she offers her! A
EPISODE # 82: October 18, 1966:
And the pen becomes the focal point of another
episode! A
EPISODE # 83: October 19, 1966
Even more about the pen! And drama between Joe
and Carolyn! A
EPISODE # 84 October 20, 1966
David lies to Vicky and tells here that he did
take the pen and that he put it in the closed
off section of the house! He proceeds to lock
her up in one of the rooms!! More drama with
Joe and Carolyn! A
EPISODE # 85: October 21, 1966
Vicky's still locked up in the unused portion
of the house! More drama with Carolyn and welp
no one really! And finally, and most importantly,
Sam and Burke have a get together at the Blue
Whale and proceed to get drunk and talk ghosts!
One in particular who appears to Vicky!!! A
EPISODE # 86: October 24, 1966
Vicky still locked up and David denies knowing
anything!! Carolyn is wading in dangerous waters
with Burke!! A
EPISODE # 87: October 25, 1966
Vicky is still locked up, but what happened to
the key??(a faux pas)!! She finally gets out
and tries to tell everyone she saw the ghost of
Bill!! Meanwhile Joe and Maggie are having fun
together at her place! A
EPISODE # 88: October 26, 1966
Talks about ghost and goblins! And Vicky is
sure that she should leave but Carolyn tries
to talk her out of it, again!! She tells Vicky
about her night with Burke! A
EPISODE # 89: October 27, 1966
All about Burke trying to buy a rival canery to
force the Collins out of business and out of town!
His plan is to take their workers away from them! A
EPISODE # 90: October 28, 1966
A discussion between Vicky, David and Carolyn
where they are trying to convince Vicky to stay!
Vicky and Carolyn go into the closed down portion
of the house to investigate what Vicky saw and
Matthew changes the lock while they're in there!
Another fuax pas here, he locks the door but the
two girls are able to get back out with no trouble!! A
EPISODE # 91: October 31, 1966
While the girls wher in the locked off portion
of the house Vicky finds a ledger with a bunch
of names on it, including a Betty Hascombe! That
was the name of the woman in the portrait that
Sam Evens had painter several year ealier and
who looked a lot like Vicky!! Burke offers to
give Vicky a ride to Bangor and Carolyn goes
ballistic, again!!! A
EPISODE # 92: November 01, 1966
Vicky is in Bangor tracking down a lead and
makes an impression on one of the lawyers that
she saw! Her search up to this point has turned
up nothing!! A
EPISODE # 93: November 02, 1966
The Collins clan a stewing about Vicky being
in Bangor with Burke, not knowing that the whole
thing was coincidental! What they should be
concerned about is the lawyer that she went
to see!! A
EPISODE # 94: November 03, 1966
Carolyn and Joe are giving things another try!
While at the Blue Whale Maggie and Sam walk in,
and the tension is so thick that you could cut
it with a spoon!! Vicky is still in Bangor talking
with the lawyer, Frank, where he tells her that
he'll do everything in his power to find answers
for her! Sam finds out that Vicky saw the ghost
of Bill Malloy!! He's noticably distraught! A
EPISODE # 95: November 04, 1966
Vicky and Frank are getting along quite well when
she winds up telling him about seeing a ghost! He
of course thinks she's nuts! The pen and seaweed are
brought up again! In fact the pen becomes the reason
she winds up going back to Collinsport with Roger!
It seems that the writers of this show had decided
to make all the women seem really dumb! Instead of
just approaching Burke about the pen, she decides
that he is Bill's murderer! She then calls the real
murderer(Roger) and asks him to come pick her up
in Bangor!! A
EPISODE # 96: November 07, 1966
The trip back to Collinwood is anything but
smooth, as there's a bad storm and Roger and
Vicky get stranded at an abandoned shack! Here
Roger insists that Vicky keep her mouth shut
about the pen!! A
EPISODE # 97: November 08, 1966
Everyone's questioning Vicky about why she had
Roger come and pick her up in Bangor. Vicky decides
to get away from it all and go for a walk! She
winds up at Sam and Maggie's place, where she picks
up the painting and brings it home to Collinwood!
Roger and Elizabeth say they don't see any resemblence
but then Carolyn walks in and asks where she got
the painting of herself!!! LOL! A
EPISODE # 98: November 09, 1966
Mrs. Johnson arrives at Collinwood to start her
tenure as the housekeeper! She is told right away
to stay out of the East Wing and the basement! She
gets busted by David while searching the basement! A
EPISODE # 99 November 10, 1966
Mrs. Johnson tells Burke that she thinks the
house is haunted!! Carolyn is still being a bitch
about Burke! Vicky tells Carolyn that she is afraid
of Burke and Mrs. Johnson overhears! And finally
the two girls get together and the truth comes out
about the pen!! A
EPISODE # 100: Noveember 11, 1966
The girls continue to talk about the pen! And
about Burke! All the while David's evesdropping!
Vicky then goes to Burke about what she's learned! A
EPISODE # 101: November 14, 1966
Welp, Vicky thinks that she's safe from Roger as
he doesn't know that she knows that he was the last
person who had the pen(yep, back to the pen!)!
David is actually being nice to Vicky! Carolyn
is getting ready for her date with Burke and
Roger is very much against it all! A
EPISODE # 102: November 15, 1966
Roger makes a half-assed confession about the
night that Bill died! David goes to the old
house to talk with his ghost friends! Carolyn
meets up with Burke!
This particular episode has several flaws in
the picture! A
EPISODE # 103: November 16, 1966
Vicky slips out of the house to get away from
Roger after he confesses that he was on Lookout
Point the night of Bill's death! But he goes short
of confessing that he killed him! This actually
throws some possibilities that perhaps he didn't
kill Bill, but there's another that had a strong
motive to kill him!! A
EPISODE # 104: November 17, 1966
Vicky tells Elizabeth about someone trying to
enter her room during the night! Later the next
evening she almost gets run down! A
EPISODE # 105: November 18, 1966
Burke talks the sheriff into going to Collinwood
to confront Roger about the pen!! This brings to
light some very interesting things! A

Like many people I used to rush home from grammar
school to see this Gothic soap opera. I distinctly
remember being petrified of the werewolf and running
out of the room when Barnabas bit somebody.
Seeing it now it's still sort of creepy. It moves
very slow (of course) and the black & white seasons
are extremely dull with really pathetic special
effects and threadbare settings. But when the
series switched to color and started to really
be popular (in 1967) it really got going. The
special effects improved, the settings and
costumes got more elaborate and the plot lines
went barreling out of control. Also they had
a good cast who played all their roles seriously.
That's good, because if they had camped it up
or winked at the audience it would have fallen
apart.
A good, fun horror soap. It's a good thing
it's available on video and DVD now. - preppy-3
