HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR SERIES
Hammer films was well known as a "b" horror movie production
company, and they decided to delve into the television market
this series, which only lasted 13 episodes!!
EPISODE # 1: WITCHING TIME(Sept. 13, 1980):
In this first episode we have a man who appears to be a sound
editor for movies who lives in a house that used to belong to a
witch!! How does he know this, you ask? Because in a flurry of
an electrical storm, she suddenly shows up at his place!!
There is some nudity in this! Probably allowed because this was
a television show from Britain!! B+
EPISODE # 2: THE THIRTEENTH REUNION(Sept. 20, 1980):
A reporter is given an assignment to cover "Think Thin",
a weight loss company!! Seems that there's more to this
place than just losing weight!! Anyone hungry??!! B+
EPISODE # 3: RUDE AWAKENING(Sept. 27, 1980):
A man keeps having dreams that goes on and on and on!!!
Think Groundhog's Day meets Alfred Hitchcock!!! B+
EPISODE # 4: GROWING PAINS(Oct. 4, 1980):
And here we have a kind of "Children Of The Damned"!!! A man
and wife have busy lives and their son gets hold of one of his
father's experiments!! This kills him! Later on, the couple adopt
another boy, and very strange things start happening!! B+
EPISODE # 5: THE HOUSE THAT BLED TO DEATH(Oct. 11, 1980):
An old man murders his wife, then sells the house! The couple who
buy it, and their daughter, move in and start having very strange
things happen!!
Again, a small amount of nudity here!! B+
EPISODE # 6: CHARLIE BOY(Oct. 18, 1980):
A group of friends are making big plans, and having a good time
with each other!! Then one of them comes into a large amount of
money, and decides to renege on the plans!!! In the same deal
that made this dude rich, it also gave another one of them a statue
which has been called a "fetish"!! This statue is said to have magical
powers, and people start dying who were in a picture that they
all took together!!
There is a VERY brief shot of nudity here!! B
EPISODE # 7: THE SILENT SCREAM(Oct. 25, 1980):
A man who's been in jail for a couple of years gets out and goes
to thank a man who's been helping him financially!! One thing
leads to another, and the dude that had been in jail finds out that
there are more than one kind of prisons!!
This stars the great Peter Cushing!! B+
EPISODE # 8: CHILDREN OF THE FULL MOON(Nov. 1, 1980):
A couple headed to their belated honeymoon have a car accident
and wind up in a spooky house with a matronly woman and eight
kids!! It appears that these kids really enjoy the night time!! A
EPISODE # 9: CARPATHIAN EAGLE(Nov. 8, 1980):
This is a Jackie-The-Ripper story!!
Starring here, in a very short role, is none other than Bond, Jame Bond -
ummm - Pierce Brosnan!! B
EPISODE # 10: GUARDIAN OF THE ABYSS(Apr. 23, 2012):
Devil worship, hypnotism, and a weird ass girl!! Throw in some
antique dealers and a scrying glass and you have this!! B
EPISODE # 11: VISITOR FROM THE GRAVE(Apr. 30, 2012):
A dude comes to a house and brakes in, demanding to see a
man who owes him money!! Man's not there so dude decides
take his money out of the woman there by trying to rape her!
Woman shoots dude, man comes home and buries dude,
and dude keeps coming back for revenge!! B-
EPISODE # 12: THE TWO FACES OF EVIL(May 7, 2012):
A family on a holiday pick up a hitchhiker!! He in turn repays
the kind deed by attacking the dad who's driving, causing an
accident!! Wife wakes up in the hospital quite dazed and
confused!! Think "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"!!! B
EPISODE # 13: THE MARK OF SATAN(May 14, 2012):
This is weird with a capital W!!! A man who works at a morgue
thinks that he's possessed from touching a patient and starts
doing some pretty strange things!! B-

From a reviewer at IMDb.com:
I love this show so much. It's so intelligent
and unlike anything you've seen before. You've
seen cop shows, you've seen crime shows, but
you've never seen a show where the bones are
the key to solving the mystery. With an array of
crimes, pretty much all involving murder, but you
can't be surprised, how can they solve crimes with
bones if nobody's dead? There are many different
main plots, going throughout the entire season.
There's Gormagon, The Gravedigger, Pelant and
many others. With gripping stories, love, loss and
babies, Bones has everything you could ever want.
Overall, I give this show a 9 out of 10. - Taylor Kingston
