Alfred Hitchcock Hour Season 1

After the success of The Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV
show, they decided to expand it to an hour! All 32 Season
One episodes are presented here!!

Many great actors of the time are here in season one, too
many to name here but I will note them in each episode!

Sadly, there are no closed captions so that my lovely wife
can enjoy these!! :(

EPISODE # 1: A PIECE OF THE ACTION(Sept. 20, 1962):

The Enterprise goes to a planet that hed been visited before
by another ship to see - oh, wait, wrong seies!!

A gambler is trying to quit for the sake of his marriage,
but his brother shows up and challenges him to beat him
at his game!!

Starring in this is Gig Young(The Rogues, That Touch Of Mink,
Kid Galahad) & Robert Redford(THE Robert Redford!!)! A-

EPISODE # 2: DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU(Sept. 27, 1962):

Women have been being killed around a small town
collage and the suspects are many!!!

Starring Jeffrey Hurnter(Star Trek: TOS), Vera Miles(Psycho,
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence) & Dick Seargent(Bewitched)! A-

EPISODE # 3: NIGHT OF THE OWL(Oct. 04, 1962):

A man comes out of nowhere to blackmail a man who adopted a
girl whose father killed her mother and threatens the man
to tell everyone!!

Starring Brian Keith(Family Affair)! B+

EPISODE # 4: I SAW THE WHOLE THING(Oct. 11, 1962):

A man hits a dude on a motorcycle after stopping at
a stop sign when he says the motorcyclist swerved in
front of his car and that's when he hit him! But
the driver says that he stopped! The real issue
becomes much more grave when the rider dies! And
also there's the issue of the fact that the driver
of the car didn't stop after he hit the cycle!!

Starring John Forsythe(Charlie's Angels[voice only],
Bachelor Father, Dynasty), John Fielder(Star Trek:
TOS episode "Wolf In The Fold", best known as the
voice of Piglet in all the incarnations of Winnie
the Pooh)!!! A-

EPISODE # 5: CAPTIVE AUDIENCE(Oct. 18, 1962):

A man sends a tape to another man under a psudinum
saying that he may have to kill someone!!

EPISODE # 6: FINAL VOW(Oct. 25, 1962):

A man offers to carry a case for a couple of nuns at
the train station but disappears! Inside the case was
a very valuable statue that was earmarked for the
convent and a nun that's in failing health!!

Starring a returninng Carol Linley(The Poseiden Adventure),
Clu Gulager(Kenny Rogers As The Gambler, The Virginian)! A-

EPISODE # 7: ANNABEL(Nov. 01, 1962):

A man with a split personality is pretty much the name
of the game here!! He continues to carry a torch for a
woman who's already married! A woman he works with has
a crush on him and follows him one day to get a shock!

Shades of Psycho!!

A man saves a boy(Billy) from drowning in the ocean
and he becomes the HOUSE GUEST! He makes himself at
home but eventually his true colors come through!!

EPISODE # 10: DAY OF RECKONING(Nov. 22, 1962):

A drunk couple have an arguement about her infidelity
on a boat and he pushes her overboard! She can't swim<
and so it is assumed that she's now dead!

EPISODE # 11: RIDE THE NIGHTMARE(Nov. 29, 1962):

A man with a past gets a call from another man who says that
he's going to kill him!!

EPISODE # 12: HANGOVER(Dec. 06, 1962):

While this is a terrible episode, the epilogue is worth
watching! Very un-Tony Randall type!!!

This one features Tony Randall(The Odd Couple, Pillow
Talk, Lover Come Back, Send Me No Flowers), Jayne
Mansfield(Promises, Promises)! C

EPISODE # 13: BONFIRE(Dec. 13, 1962)

Peter plays a very bad man who is with an elderly woman
who has a heart attack, but he doesn't do much in the
way of helping her! He says he's a preacher, but it's
very questionable!!

Starring: Peter Falk(Columbo, The Princess Bride, Robin
& The Seven Hoods, It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World), Dina
Merrill(Opperation: Petticoat)! B+

EPISODE # 14: THE TENDER POISONER(Dec. 20, 1962):

A man and his wife are both cheating on each other and the
husband decides to take matters into his own hands!!

Starring in this one is Howard Duff(The Felony Squad)! A

EPISODE # 15: THE THIRTY-FIRST OF FEBRUARY(Jan. 04, 1963):

A woman "falls" down stairs going down to their basement
and her husband calls for help! It is determined that
it was an accident and that was that! Or was it? The
man is getting more and more aggitated as the days go
on and he's almost going over the edge!!

David Wyane(Ellery Queen[1975], The Apple Dumpling Gang,
Batman[1966]), William Conrad(Cannon, Jake And The Fatman),
Bob Crane(Hogan's Heroes), William Sargent(Star Trek: TOS
episode "The Conscience Of The King") star here! A

EPISODE # 16: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED(Jan. 11, 1963):

A wealthy man is killed and his mother is convinced
that his wife did it!! There is one person who knows
the truth but she's not talking!!

EPISODE # 17: FORECAST: LOW CLOUDS AND COASTAL FOG(Jan. 18, 1962):

A woman is left alone at a beach house and is bothered by
a man who says he's run out of gas and needs help. She
turns him away but a few minutes later she hears a woman
scream! Later some police show up with said man and say
that the man's wife had been attacked and was in the
hospital! Then things get really strange!

Starring: Inger Stevens(The Farmer's Daughter), Greg
Morris(Mission: Impossible, Vega$)! A

EPISODE # 18: A TANGLED WEB(Jan. 25, 1963):

A thief with a bad temper talks a lovely young lady into
marrying him, then she finds out what he's really like!!

TekWar, The Fugitive)! B+

EPISODE # 19: TO CATCH A BUTTERFLY(Feb. 01, 1963):

A couple move into a new house find that the new
neighbor boy has big issues, but is it all his
fault!!

Starring: Bradford Dillman(Many guest starring roles on
TV), Edward Asner(The Mary Tyler MOore Show, The Ed
Asner Show)! B+

EPISODE # 20: THE PARAGON(Feb. 08, 1963):

At first It's truly impossible to tell who's the bad
guy here! But as it drones on it becomes more obvious!

Starring in this one is Joan Fontaine(Suspicion,
Rebecca, Gunga Din) & Gary Merrill(Earth II, All
About EVe, ClamBake) B+

EPISODE # 21: I'LL BE JUDGE - I'LL BE JURY(Feb. 13, 1963):

A couple vacationing in Mexico stop off to have a picick
and he falls asleep and she disappears, shortly to be found
dead!! He and the family decide that the local policia are
moving too stlowly and take matters in their own hands!

This stars Peter Graves( Mission: Impossible), Albert Salmi
(Petrocelli, Daniel Boone), Ed Nelson(Payton Place), Sarah
Marshall(Star Trek: TOS episode "The Deadly Years")! B+

EPISODE # 22: DIAGNOSIS: DANGER(Mar. 01, 1963):

A man who appears to be very sick falls out of a car and
winds up in the morgue where he's diagnosed with anthrax!!!

Starring Michael Parks(Then Came Bronson, Plaent Terror,
Kill Bill V. 1 & 2, he also sang the song "Long Lonesome
Highway"!), Celia Lovsky returns! B+

EPISODE # 23: THE LONELY HOURS(Mar. 08, 1963):

A comopletely off-the-handle woman applies for a room
with a couple with three children, one of them a baby boy!
And she seems to take an inordinate amount of interest
in him!!!

Starring here: Joyce Van Patton(sister of Dick)! B+

EPISODE # 24: THE STAR JUROR(Mar. 15, 1963)

A man kills a woman when he tries to make a pass at
her and she starts screeming! The woman's boyfriend
is tagged for the murder and the man who actually
killed her is on the jury!!!

Starring Dean Jagger(White Christmas, Mr. Novak), Will
Hutchins(Clambake, Spinout, Sugarfoot)! A

EPISODE # 25: THE LONG SILENCE(Mar. 22, 1963):

A man embezzles $200,000 from the family bank account
and one of the younger members of the family is accused
the dasterdly deed! Said young man comes home after being
gone a bit and accuses the man of the embezzlement, and
the man promptly kills the younger man by suffocation(this
scene is hilarrious!! The older dude covers the younger's
mouth with his hand suffocating him! Why he couldn't just
breath through his nose is beyond my comprehesion!!] Anyhoo
the matriarch of the family finds out the whole thing and
the bad dude pushes the woman down the stairs and she
becomes parylized and can't talk!!

Starring Michael Rennie(The Day The Earth Stood Stll!!),
Phyllis Thaxter(Superman[as Ma Kant])! A

EPISODE # 26: AN OUT FOR OSCAR(Apr. 05, 1963):

Another embezzlement story! In this one a woman has
embezzled money from a casino and she's gotten caught!
A man catches her and she kills him after he slaps her!
And she has her hooks out for a kind gentleman who has
the hots for her! Quite a tangled mess here!!

This has Henry Silva(Allan Quartermain And The Lost
City Of Gold, Ocean's Eleven), Larry Storch(F-Troup),
David White(Bewitched), Alan Napier(Batman)! A-

EPISODE # 27: DEATH AND THE JOYFUL WOMAN(Apr. 12, 1963):

A man goes to his very vengeful father for a loan
for a baby that's coming soon! His father challenges
him to a drinking contest to earn $5,000 if he can
out drink his father! While later that same episode,
the girl tha his father wanted him to marry pushes
him down the stairs and she thinks that she had killed
him! But - - - - -!

This has Laraine Day(Mr. Lucky, several of the Dr.
Kildare movies of the 39s & 40s) And Don Galloway
(Ironside, Arrest And Trial) in it! B

EPISODE # 28: LAST SEEN WEARING BLUE JEANS(Apr. 19, 1963):

A family from England stops off for tea during a road
trip through the U.S.! The daughter(17) decides to go
back to the car and lay down as she's very tired! The
parents take off on their way to points unknown and after
a while discover that she's not in the car and go back to
find her, but she's now gone, having gotten in the wrong
vehicle which was stolen!

A lovely ending!!

No known actors in this! A

EPISODE # 29: THE DARK POOL(May 03, 1963):

A woman gets distracted by a phone call and her adopted
baby she's taking care of falls into a pool and drowns!
She's a recovering alsoholic and had a drink! It goes
before a hearing but the woman is found unculpable!!
It turns out that the baby's real mother shows up and
places the blame on the mother and says she wants money
to keep the secret!! More to the story than meets the
eye!

I didn't care for this one!

EPISODE # 30: DEAR UNCLE GEORGE(May 10, 1963):

A man who writes an advice column for the "lovelorne"
gets a letter from a woman who says she's seen a woman
who lives accross from her meets a man after her husband
leaves for work!! Guess where said man lives!!

As suggested by others on IMDb.com this is very Columbo
like!

Starring here is Gene Barry(Bat Materson, Burke's Law,
The Name Of The Game, The War Of The Worlds), Dabney
Coleman(WarGames, Nine To Five, You've Got Mail,
Tootsie, Forever Fernwood, Mary Hartman Mary Hartman)! B

EPISODE # 31: RUN FOR DOOM(May 17, 1963):

Pretty much the most boring episode I've watched of any of
the incarnations of Alfred Hitchcock! Basically about a man
who falls for a lounge singer!

There is no action at all til the final 10 minutes of the
episode!!

Starring, Tom Skerritt(Top Gun, Contact, Picket Fences)!! A

EPISODE # 32: DEATH OF A COP(May 24, 1963):

A young up-and-coming cop sees somethhing amiss and goes
to check up and gets ambushed, taken for a ride, and
executed by some punks! His dad, also a cop, goes on
the hunt for his killer!

Starring in this is a returning Victor Jory(Gone With
The Wind, Papillon, Manhunt, The Green Archer, from Salem
Oregon), Read Morgan(Maverick[movie], Fatal Beauty,
Kelly's Heroes, Easy Come, Easy Go), Hari Rhodes
(Daktari, Earth II)! A

was way ahead of its time. Its host, Alfred Hitchcock
presented stories in this weekly, half-hour dramatic/
suspense anthology that virtually no other program
would even dream of presenting. Like many of Hitch's
films, the stories presented frequently dealt with
murder and deception, sometimes on a humerous level.
Anyone expecting the show to end with the conventional
happy ending would fare better to tune into another
television program. In addition to hosting the show,
Hitchcock directed several episodes of the series
