MATT HOUSTON SEASON THREE(1970)


Starring Lee Horsely(who was also on Nero Wolfe)! Also here sporatically
are Paul Petersen(The Donna Reed Show along with being a singer), Paul
Brineger(Wishbone in Rawhide) and Dennis Fimple(7 episodes of Alias
Smith And Jones, The Apple Dumpling Gang), and later in season 3,
Buddy Ebson! It's about an oil tycoon turned detective!

This would have been a perfect vehicle for Tom Sellack!!

With many guest stars of the time including: Herb Edelman, David Wayne,
Gary Lockwood, Don Stroud, William Windom, John Anderson, Richard Anderson,
J.D. Cannon, Robert Loggia, Denny Miller, Max Bear Jr., Stuart Whitman,
Lou Ferrigno, Beverly Garland, Martin Landau, Ernest Borgnine, Chuck
Connors, Sonny Bono, Robert Goullet, Shelly Fabres and many others!!

EPISODE 1: WANTED MAN(Sept. 21, 1984):

With this episode the start of Buddy Ebsen's role as
Uncle Roy starts!!

Matt is still on the run after the last episode of season
two! B

EPISODE 2: VANISHED(Sept. 28, 1984):

Three kids, including Hoyt's daughter, get kidnapped!

Matt and his crew get on the case!!

Guest Starring: Paul Petersen and Herb Edelman! B+

EPISODE 3: EYEWITNESS(Oct. 12, 1984):

CJ is again in "love" and the dude that she's currently
swooning over is suspected by Matt to be involved with
a kidnapping and murder! This is one of the stupidest
episode of any series I've ever seen!

EPISODE 4: APOSTLE OF DEATH(Oct. 19, 1984):

So it appears the good pastor isn't and is tring to
get girls to come to his church and give him everything
they own!!

Poor episode!!

Larry Anderson(Star Trek 9: Insurrection)! C

EPISODE 5: CAGED(Oct. 26, 1984):

Bad cops (actually the whole town is rotten) in a
small town that mixes business with a call girl
scheme gets CJ involved when she has an accident
and looses her memory!!

Guest starring here are Ramon Bieri(Bret Maverick),
R.G. Armstrong(T.H.E. Cat)!

Star Trek connection: Ron Soble(TOS episode "Spectre Of
The Gun)! B-

EPISODE 6: RETURN TO NAM PART ONE(Nov. 02, 1984):

A friend of Matt's calls and says he's going to be
killed! So Matt goes to try to help him and he winds
up dead telling him to keep "Marilyn" safe! Kinda
Rambo Pt 1/2!!

EPISODE 7: RETURN TO NAM PART TWO(Nov. 09, 1984):

Continued from the previous episode! B

EPISODE 8: HIGH FASHION MURDERS(Nov. 16, 1984):

Another fashion girls murder episode! In this the twist
is that Matt knows who did it, but doesn't know how to
prove it because he had an iron clad alabi!

EPISODE 9: DEATH STALK(Nov. 23, 1984):

The crazy dude from the episode "Target: Miss World"
gets out of jail and is after Matt like he said he
would! B

EPISODE 10: BLOOD MONEY(Nov. 30, 1984):

Another friend of Matt's from high school calls Matt
and asks for help!

EPISODE 11: DEADLY GAMES(Dec. 07, 1984):

A man is using athletes for target practice! One of
hhis vicitms is a friend of Murry's and he goes to
Matt for help!

EPISODE 12: STOLEN(Dec. 21, 1984):

All about kidnapping and selling of babies in a fake
adoption ring!

Guest Starring Robert Reed(Brady Bunch)! B

EPISODE 13: THE NIGHTMARE MAN(Jan. 04, 1985):

Matt thinks that a man who's blackmailing people
after kidnapping someone is the same on that
kidnapped him when he was young!

Guest Starring a returning Paul Petersen!! B

EPISODE 14: BREAKPOINT(Jan. 11, 1985):

These episodes keep getting bleaker and bleaker, and
I think that's part of the reason for its cancellation!
Anyway, Matt's cousin has broken and is threatening to
kill himself! D

EPISODE 15: DEATH TRAP(Jan. 18, 1985):

Another bad town and with Matt on vacation, it's up to
CJ and Roy to help!! It's all about oil!

Guest starring: Scatman Crothers(More well known as a
jazz singer), Andrew Robinson returns!! C

EPISODE 16: THE HONEYMOON MURDERS(Jan. 25, 1985):

Someone's going around killing brides right after the
weddings! One of the victim was one of Matt's good
friend's new wife! C

EPISODE 17: THE BEACH CLUB MURDERS(Feb. 01, 1985):

There's a rash of murders at a beach club and one of them
happened while CJ was there! Therefore Matt gets involved!

Another serial killer out to make Matt look bad for
reasons unknown!

Your Wagon), Sheri Belafonte(Harry's Daughter)! Richard and
John Anderson return! B+

EPISODE 19: COMPANY SECRETS(Feb. 15, 1985):

A dude that Roy had helped put away many years before
breaks out and comes after him and the rest of the
unit that put him away!

Guest starring: Andrew Duggam(In Like Flint, Lancer,
12 O'Clock High, Burbon Street Beat), Celeste Holm(High
Society, All About Eve, As The World Turns, 3 Men And
A Baby)!

This is by far the best episode of the series!! A+

EPISODE 20: KILLING TIME(Feb. 22, 1985):

Is Matt going nuts or is someone trying to drive him
crazy!! B

EPISODE 21: DEATH WATCH(Mar. 15, 1985):

This one's about a bad captain in the police force
and Hoyt asks for Matt and company's help in trapping
him! Things don't go well and it turns into a hostage
situation!!

Guest starring: Frank Bonner(WKRP In Cincinatti)! B

EPISODES 22: FINAL VOWS(Mar. 29, 1985):

The girl from the the episode "Killing Time" returns
and Matt and her decide to get married! The kink in
the whole thing is that there's ANOTHER serial killer
and he thinks he needs more publicity!

Last episode of the series!! This seems to end rather
abruptly, almost like they didn't know that this was
it for the series! B
