OUTER LIMITS, THE - SEASON 1(1963) PAGE

OUTER LIMITS, THE - SEASON 1(1963)

While this set says "Volume 1", it is actually all
of season one!!

EPISODE # 01: Galaxy Being, The:

This first episode stars Cliff Robertson(PT 109, several
episodes of Batman, Escape From L.A., Spiderman 1, 2 & 3)!

The story, a man at a radio station makes contact with a
being from outer space! This has a real "The Day The Earth
Stood Still" feeling to it!! A-

EPISODE # 02: Hundred Days Of The Dragon, The:

Starring here is James Hong(The New Adventures Of
Charlie Chan, Big Trouble In Little China, Blade
Runner)!

This is actually pretty boring! The bad guys(China?)
come up with a serum that allows a persons skin to be
re-shaped however a person wants! They use it to take
over the Presidency! Almost interesting!! B-

EPISODE # 03: Architects Of Fear, The:

Starring the great Robert Culp(I-Spy, The Greatest American
Hero, Trackdown)!!

So to save the world and get everyone working together,
a group of scientists decide to turn one of them into
an alien so as to unite the world in a common cause! A-

EPISODE # 04: Man With The Power:

Donald Pleasence(You Only Live Twice, The Great Escape,
Escape From New York)! Also here is Edward Platt(Get
Smart, North By Northwest)!

Donald plays a fairly meek professor who has an operation
that gives him powerful metaphisical powers which when he
gets angry goes crazy! This was all done for the advancement
of science and the space race! A-

EPISODE # 05: Sixth Finger, The:

David McCullum(The Man From U.N.C.L.E., N.C.I.S., Saphire &
Steel) stars in this episode along with Edward Mulhare(The

David becomes his "volunteer"! A-

EPISODE # 06: The Man Who Was Never Born, The:

Martin Landau(Mission Impossible, Space 1999) stars!
Also here is John Considine(older brother of Tim)!

Kind of like the premise of Planet Of The Apes! In
reverse! A man goes into the future to find the whole
world destroyed after a man developes a virus that
destroys people! One of the beings he meets up with
talks him into going back to the past and taking
him with him! Welp, the man from the past disappears
and the man from the future tries to stop the future
from happening! A-

EPISODE # 07: O.B.I.T.:

No really big names here, but there are two aumni
from Star Trek: TOS: Jeff Corey("The Cloud Minders")
and Harry Townes("The Return Of The Archons")!

Kinda reminds me of 1984 - Big Brother is watching!!
And it's not our government!! A-

EPISODE # 08: Human Factor, The:

Starring in this episode is Sally Kellerman(Star Trek - TOS
episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before", M*A*S*H)

Scientists in Greenland are being plagued by earthquakes,
but one of them insist it's something more sinister! A-

EPISODE # 09: Corpus Earthling:

Robert Culp returns here!

And he's hearing voices, from rocks!! A-

EPISODE # 10: Nightmare:

This stars the great James Shegita(Flower Drum Song,

With Tribbles", The Time Tunnel) & David Frankham

They are also afflicted with several different malidays! A-

EPISODE # 11: It Crawled Out Of The Woodwork:

Guesting in this are two Star Trek TOS alumni: BarBara
Luna(episode "Mirror Mirror"! Also the TNV episodes "Enemy
Starfleet" & "In Harms Way") & Michael Forrest(Episode
"Who Mourns For Adonais" as well as being in the STC
episode "Pilgrim Of Eternity")!

Also here is Ed Asner(The Mary Tyler Moore Show & Lou
Grant)!

The story here is that there's some sort of elecrical
being that's taken over a lab that a new scientist is
hired at! It's a job people are dying for! A-

EPISODE # 12: The Borderland:

Another Star Trek TOS alumn, Alfred Ryder(episode "The
Man-Trap") is in this one!

Story: a team of scientists accidentaly discover a possible
way to transport to another dimension(unknown which one)!

to gum up the works! B+

Kinda retelling of the movie Them, Kinda!

EPISODE # 15: The Mice

Dabney Coleman(War Games, Nine To Five, You've Got Mail,
Forever Fernwood, Mary Hartman Mary Harman) stars in
this!

A man is chosen to be an exchange subject between Earth
and another planet! Seems simple enough, and what could
possibly go wrong?!! A-

EPISODE # 16: Controlled Experiment

And another alumni from Star Trek: TOS, Grace Lee Whitney
(Yoman Janice Rand in 9 episodes as well as being in four of
the theatrical movies!!)! Also here is Carroll O'Connor(All
In The Family) as well as Barry Morse(The Fugitive, Space:
1999)!

A couple of gents from Mars are sent to Earth to study Earthers
and the phenomina of murder! B

EPISODE # 17: Don't Open Till Doomsday

Star Trek: TOS alumni John Hoyt("The Cage") & David Frankham
("The Trouble With Tribbles") are here!

The title refers to a present that mysteriouly appears at
weddings that has forboding consequences if not heeded!! A-

EPISODE # 18: Zzzzz

This is a strange one, even for Outer Limits! Some very
horny bees make their queen into a human, and a very
fetching one at that!! The reason, to procreate by the
billions?? Oh, and she has her sights set on a scientist
who's made a machine that communicates with the bees!!
Like I said, very strange indeed!! B+

EPISODE # 19: The Invisibles

We have starring here Neil Hamilton(Batman) & Richard
Dawson(Hogan's Heroes)!

There's some aliens who plan to take over the US
by attatching themselves to humans who then help
them out! Reminds me of the Star Trek episode
"Opperation: Annihilate"!! B+

Space: 1999), Sally Kellerman(Star Trek: TOS episode "Where
No Man Has Gone Before, M*A*S*H) & Neil Hamilton(Batman)!!

A scientist, while working with laser beams, accidentally
beams down an alien with amazing technology that his wife
sorely wants him to get the credit for inventing!! B+

EPISODE # 21: Children Of Spider County, The

The title is a total misnomer! There are no children
in this!!

Five unusual boys grow up and their fathers come to
take them home to a different world! This turns out
just about how you figure it will!! B+

EPISODE # 22: Specimen: Unknown

Dabney Coleman(War Games, 9 To 5, Mary Hartman Mary
Hartman, Forever Fernwood) & Arther Batanides(Star
Trek: TOS episode "That Which Survives", several of
the Police Academy movies)!

Kind of a cross between War Of The Worlds and the
Star Trek: TOS episode "This Side Of Paradise"! A
rocket ship has come across some spore-like plants
that are putting the crew out of commission! A-

EPISODE # 23: Second Chance

A strange episode(I know, it's Outer Limits!)! But this one
is a little more strange in that it starts out like
a carnival and ends up in space! Pretty good though! A-

are not as they seem!! A

EPISODE # 29: A Feasibility Study

Starring in this one is Robert H. Justman(not a big
name as actors go, but he was producer for Star Trek:
TOS & TNG!! This is one of only two acting credits,
the other being in the Star Trek: TOS episode "The
Conscience Of The King")!

Aliens abduct a six square block of suburbia USA with

There are some very well constructed stories in this
series and they are well worth looking at. - pauldeadman
