STARGATE - SG-1 SEASON 1(1997) PAGE

STARGATE - SG-1 SEASON 1(1997)

After the movie did so well, the powers that be decided
what the heck, let's try doing a TV show! They couldn't
get either Kurt Russell or James Spader, so they went
out and got RDA & Michael Shanks(a fairly uknown actor)
to take their places! It was a great choice!! Let's face
it, Richard Deen Anderson was already an icon on TV with
McGyver, and this did nothing but solidify his place as
a TV icon!

Along with them are Amanda Tapping and Christopher Judge
and together(for most of the series) make a wonderful team,
with great stories and very good F/X! This is a great series!

Incedibly hard to do, to follow up the excellent movie with
more excellence, but somehow they did it!

EPISODE 1: CHILDREN OF THE GODS(Sept. 8, 1966):

(BEWARE, THERE IS NUDITY IN THIS FIRST EPISODE!)

This introduces us to the main characters of the
series: Colonel Jack O'Neill, Daniel Jackson,
Teal'c, Captain Samantha Carter & General George
Hammond! While Jackson, Teal'c and Carter appear in
all the seasons, O'Neill is only in the first 8
seasons! After he departs from the series, they
bring in Ben Browder as Lt. Cameron Mitchell and
Cladia Black as Vala Mal Doran!

Showing up to reprise his role as Skara is Alexis
Cruz!

The story: The "enemy" comes through the Stargate
after the thing has been dormant for a year or so
and the grab a couple of the people at thecompound!
Jack gets re-called to service to head a team back
to the place where they went in the movie, and along
with him is Captain Samantha Carter and several
soldiers! A

EPISODE 2: THE ENEMY WITHIN(Sept. 15, 1966):

The crew discover that Kowalski has a Gsu'ould
in him and try to save his life by operation on
him! Some high-ups want to take control of Teal'c
and come to take him away!! A

EPISODE 3: EMANCIPATION(Sept. 22, 1966):

Carter gets sold to some tribesman on what
appears to be a Mongolian type planet!!

Guest starring: Soon-Tek Oh(The Man With The Golden
Gun, Mulan, Babylon 5 episode "TKO")! A

EPISODE 4: THE BROCA DEVIDE(Sept. 29, 1966):

The group go to a world whre the differences are
as stark as night and day! Literally!! This reminds
me of the Star Trek: TOS episode "The Cloud Minders!"
crossed with "The Immunity Syndrome"!! A

EPISODE 5: THE FIRST COMMANDMENT(Oct. 6, 1966):

SG1 go to a planet where another team, SG9, went
and never returned! The dude heading that team
has let the planet's inhabitants worshiping of
him go to his head!! A

EPISODE 6: COLD LAZARUS(Oct. 13, 1966):

Jack and crew come upon a planet with a bunch of crystals
and Jack gets knocked out! Suddenly there's a duplicate
Jack and he's acting pretty strange!

This is an extremely emotional episode!! A

EPISODE 7: THE NOX(Oct. 20, 1966):

The fiance of Nurse Chapel is discovered on a desolate
planet where all the natural inhabitants have died off,
leaving only one android left to take care of the mechanical
devices that were created by them!! Dr. Korby has befriended
him and taken over the research on the planet, which has led
to some pretty bizarre experiments!! The second time(of three)
where there's two Kirks!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Nurse Chapel, Lt. Uhura, & Mr. Spock!!

Guest starring here are Ted Cassidy(The Addams Family[TV]),
in his first of three appearances on Star Trek(The other
two are The Corbomite Maneuver[voice only] & Arena) &
Sherry Jackson(Make Room For Daddy[playing the oldest
daughter of Danny Thomas], several of the Ma Pa Kettle
movies)!! A

EPISODE 8: BRIEF CANDLE(Oct. 27, 1966):

The crew land on a planet where life is only
1100 days long, and Daniel thinks it's some
kind of virus that perhaps Jack now has!

Guest starring in this are Kim Darby(True Grit, many guest
starring roles on various TV shows) & Michael J. Pollard
(Dick Tracy, Tango & Cash, Bonnie & Clyde)!! A+

EPISODE 9: THOR'S HAMMER(Nov. 3, 1966):

As with "Brief Candle", this episode is presented out of
airing order, being the sixth episode on disc 1, while it
was actually episode 9!

The crew come to a planet looking for allies which
seem to be here! What they run into is Thor(No, not
Chris Helmsworth!) and they discover that there is a
way to separate the host and the symbiot!!!

Guest Starring: THE James Eark Jones)! A

EPISODE 10: THE TORMENT OF TATNALUS(Nov. 10, 1966):

While doing routine star mapping the Enterprise meets
up with another vessel many times the size of it!! The
occupant warns the crew to go away or suffer the
consequences!! Of course, Captain Kirk ignores the
threat, and trouble ensues!!

The first McCoyism: What am I, a doctor or a moon
shuttle conductor??!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Mr. Spock,
Lt. Sulu, Lt. Uhura, Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy, Lt.
Scott & Yeoman Rand!!

Guest starring Ted Cassidy(voice only) & Clint Howard
(all three Austin Powers movies, The Andy Griffith Show,
Star Trek: ENT[episode "Acquisition"], Star Trek: DS9
[episode "Past Tense Pt. 2][making him one of only a
few actors/actresses to be in at least three different
incarnations of Star Trek!!], Gentle Ben)!! A

EPISODE 11: BLOODLINES(Nov. 17, 1966):

This double episode incorporates the original pilot, "The
Cage", into an episode of the final ensemble of cast members!
The gist here is that Spock has decided to take matters into
his own hands to help out his first captain, Captain Pike, in
his darkest hour!! He had suffered a terrible accident which
left him mute and in a wheel chair for the rest of his life, not
much more than a vegetable! Spock has risked his career
on this move, as he is brought up on conspiracy charges!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, Lt. Uhura, Lt. Scott & No. 1(played
by Majel Barret, who later was known as Nurse Christine
Chapel)!!

Guest starring here is Jeffrey Hunter(from the pilot
"The Cage")(Temple Houston, The Searchers)! Sadly,
he had decided not to continue as the captain of the
Enterprise, and only a couple of years later died of
a stroke!! Also here is Susan Oliver(Peyton Place), Malachi
Throne(It Takes A Thief[TV], Star Trek: TNV[episode
"In Harms Way"], Babylon 5[episode "The Coming
of Shadows"], Star Trek: TNG[episode "Unification"
Pt. 1 & 2]) & Felix Silla(Buck Rogers, Star Wars: Episode
VI: Return Of The Jedi, The Addams Family[TV], Battlestar
Galactica[1978])!!! A+

EPISODE 12: FIRE AND WATER(Nov. 24, 1966):

Continuing on from the previous episode with the same
plot, regulars and guest stars!! A+

EPISODE 13: HATHOR(Dec. 8, 1966):

The Enterprise gets an urgent call for help from a planet
which turns out to be false!! The real reason is because
a scientist there thinks that he has recognized a mass
killer in the form of an actor!! The murderer was a governor
on a planet running out of food supplies, and he made a
decision to kill off half the population so that the rest of
them could live! Turns out, if he had just waited a couple
of days more, supply ships showed up earlier than expected!!
There were only a handful of witnesses still alive, including
the scientist, Captain Kirk, and an Ensign on board the
Enterprise!!!

Another song by Uhura!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk, Mr.
Spock, Lt. Uhura, Yeoman Rand(seen only, no dialogue!) &
Dr. McCoy!! A

EPISODE 14: SINGULARITY(Dec. 15, 1966):

After attacks on outposts near the Romulan neutral zone,
the Enterprise has to make a hard decision on whether to
retaliate or not!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Scott, Captain
Kirk, Dr. McCoy, Yeoman Rand, Mr. Spock, Lt. Sulu, & Lt. Uhura!!

Guest starring here, in the first of several guest starring roles
in not only Star Trek: TOS, but Star Trek: TNG and the Star
Trek movies is Mark Leonard(here playing a Romulan!!)!! A+

EPISODE 15: COR-AI(Dec. 29, 1966):

The crew is in need of a rest, and the Enterprise encounters
a planet that looks just right for shore leave!! BUT, as the landing
party is researching the planet to make sure that it's suitable,
they start encountering very strange things!! This is a lot of fun!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Mr. Spock, Lt. Uhura, Lt. Sulu & Dr. McCoy!! A+

EPISODE 16: ENIGMA(Jan. 5, 1967):

While on a routine mission to drop off some drugs to a planet
along with a commissioner who's on board the Enterprise,
the crew encounter an anomaly which they take time to
investigate, sending out the shuttlecraft Galileo, which
gets into trouble because of the anomaly and crash lands
on a nearby planet!! This strands the seven on board, which
Spock is in charge of, with no hope of getting back to the
Enterprise!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Lt. Uhura, Mr. Spock, Lt Scott, Dr. McCoy & Lt. Sulu!! A

EPISODE 17: SOLITUDES(Jan. 12, 1967):

While running supplies to another planet, the Enterprise
and crew run into a runaway planet!! Kirk, Sulu, Scotty &
McCoy get pulled down to the planet by an incredibly
powerful being, for purposes unknown!! This is, in my
opinion, the for runner of the character Q from Next
Gen!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Mr. Spock, Lt. Uhura, Dr. McCoy, Lt. Sulu & Lt. Scott!! A

EPISODE 18: TIN MAN(Jan. 19, 1967):

Part of the crew from the Enterprise beams down to a planet
to pay a visit to some old friends of the Captain's, only to find
the outpost there has been destroyed!! They come under attack
until they use a powerful weapon to retaliate, whereupon the
attackers beam back to their own ship and take off! The away
team promptly beam back to the Enterprise to give chase, only
to have their chase cut short by beings even more powerful
than the attackers!! The reason: they don't want a battle in their
section of the galaxy and decide that the way to stop it is to
send the captains of each ship to a nearby planet to fight it
out between themselves! The winner gets to go on their way!
The loser, not so much!!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Dr. McCoy, Mr. Spock, Yeoman Rand, Lt. Sulu, & Lt. Uhura!! A+

EPISODE 19: THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD(Jan. 26, 1967):

Under the pull of a black star, the Enterprise, while trying
to pull free, gets slingshot in to the past!! There, they encounter
the inhabitants of the 20th century and all Hell breaks loose!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk,
Mr. Spock, Lt. Uhura, Lt. Sulu, Lt. Scott & Dr. McCoy!! A

EPISODE 20: POLITICS(Feb. 2, 1967):

During an emergency Captain Kirk is forced to jettison a pod
with a crewman aboard!! Turns out that it appears that
the captain acted too quickly, and the death of the crewman
is now on his head, and a court martial convenes to find out
if he's guilty of not only killing the man, but of falsifying official
records!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kirk, Lt.
Uhura, Mr. Spock, Lt. Scott & Dr. McCoy!

Guest stars include Elisha Cook Jr.(Magnum P.I., The Maltese
Falcon, The Big Sleep) & Percy Rodrigues(Peyton Place[TV], many
guest starring roles on TV)!! A+

EPISODE 21: WITHIN THE SERPENT'S GRASP(Feb. 9, 1967):

While searching for a lost ship, "The Archon", two crew members
beam down to a planet and are attacked by it's inhabitants!!
This turns them into zombie like people who seem to all worship
someone name "Landru"!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Sulu,
Captain Kirk, Lt. Scott, Dr. McCoy, Mr. Spock & Lt. Uhura!! A

From an IMDb.com customer:

I love this series, and every one of the Stargate
series. I started watching in season 7, but quickly
went back and binged every episode on DVD (netflix
wasn't a thing yet). I now own all of SG1 and SGA.
I've watched every episode of SG1 at least 5 times,
SGA about 3 times, and SGU about twice. I think
I'm pretty much obsessed with this series. - captjack-29256
