STARGATE - SG-1 SEASON 5(1997)

After the movie did so well, the powers that be decided
what the heck, let's try doing a TV show! They couldn't
get either Kurt Russell or James Spader, so they went
out and got RDA & Michael Shanks(a fairly uknown actor)
to take their places! It was a great choice!! Let's face
it, Richard Deen Anderson was already an icon on TV with
MacGyver, and this did nothing but solidify his place as
a TV icon!

Along with them are Amanda Tapping and Christopher Judge
and together(for most of the series) make a wonderful team,
with great stories and very good F/X! This is a great series!

Incedibly hard to do, to follow up the excellent movie with
more excellence, but somehow they did it!

EPISODE 1: ENEMIES(June 29, 2001):

The team(minus Teal'c) are not of this world,
or galaxy even!!! And they have company, not
only Apophos, but replicators as well! Started
off good, made a VERY wrong turn! D

EPISODE 2: THRESHOLD(July 06, 2001):

Bra'tac comes to the aid of SG-1 to try to get
the real Teal'c back! A

EPISODE 3: ASCENTION(July 13, 2001):

The team comes back after a stint on another
planet, not knowing they brought back a friend
for Carter!!

Guest starring: John de Lancie(Star Trek: TNG, VOY,
PIC) in his first of five appearances, Sean Patrick
Flanery(The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones)! A

EPISODE 4: THE FIFTH MAN(July 20, 2001):

The crew are on a mission with a new member when
they get attacked! Daniel, Teal'c and Sam make
it back, but Jack goes back for the new member,
Lt. Tyler who's been injured! When the team gets
back to headquaters, they find out there is no
one named Lt. Tyler!!! Also, Col. Frank Simmons
is back interrogating the whole team! If not for
this portion of the episode, I would rate this
higher! B

EPISODE 5: RED SKY(July 27, 2001):

The crew, again, cause a catastrophe on a new world
that their visiting and try all kinds of tricks to
right things!

Guest starring John Prosky(Star Trek: VOY episode
"Friendship One", Star Trek: DS9 episode "For The
Cause")! A

EPISODE 6: RITE OF PASSAGE(Aug. 03, 2001):

Why the Hell do shows think they have to represent
ALL teenage girls as ass holes???? Anyway, Cassandra's
back and she's sick! They have turned a loveable character
into one that you really don't give a shit about1! C-+

EPISODE 7: BEAST OF BURDEN(Aug. 10, 2001):

This is about slavery, and the fact that one of
Daniel's friends made in the season 4 episode "The
First Ones") is one of those caught up in the
slavery trade!

Guest starring: Larry Drake(Star Trek: VOY episode
"Critical Care")! B

EPISODE 8: THE TOMB(Aug. 17, 2001):

The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming!
And they are going on a mission with the SG-1 team
to a planet that has been visited by the Russians
already and they are looking for the team that seems
to have disappeared! B+

EPISODE 9: BETWEEN TWO FIRES(Aug. 24, 2001):

The Tollan send a message to SGC saying they would
like to have discussion on their embargo on tech
trading! Jack, of course, is skeptical, but Hammond
says to go and talk and hopefully this can lead to
a treaty! NOPE! A

EPISODE 10: 2001(Aug. 31, 2001):

So, remember the note that O'Neill(with two lls)
sent back to the SGC warning not to go to a particular
planet?? Welp, THEY'RE HERE!!!

Ronny Cox returns! B+

EPISODE 11: DESPARATE MEASURES(Sept. 07, 2001):

When you can't come up with a new idea, just replay
an old one! Carter gets kidnapped!!!

John de Lancie returns! B

EPISODE 12: WORMHOLE X-TREME(Sept. 08, 2001):

Our friend Marty from the season 4 episode "Point
Of No Return" returns here! He is spearheading a
new pilot for TV called "Wormhole X-Treme" which
is loosly based on the Stargate! Also going on
is a spac ship heading toward Earth! Think the
two entertwine??

A LOT of humor here!! A

EPISODE 13: PROVING GROUND(Mar. 08, 2002):

While training new recruits, SGC is taken
over, leaving Jack and the trainees to re-take
the base back! B+

EPISODE 14: 48 HOURS(Mar. 15, 2002):

While returning from a mission, Teal'c gets
trapped in the "buffer" of the Stargate!!

John de Lancie returns! A

EPISODE 15: SUMMIT(Mar. 22,2002):

SGC is in a possition to wipe out the Gao'uld in
one shot! All they have to do is poison all the
leaders at the same time, who just happen to
be having a meeting of the minds!!!

This turns into nothing more than a war story!

Continued in the next episode! C-

EPISODE 16: LAST STAND(Mar. 29, 2002):

Continued from the previous episode! C-

EPISODE 18: FAIL SAFE(Apr. 05, 2002):

Ala the Bruce Willis movie "Armageddon", an
asteroid is headed for Earth and the Stargate
team is the only ones that know about it! They
go to their "allies" but not hope of help there!
Last ditch effort involves nukes and running
important people through the Stargate to safety! A

EPISODE 17: THE WARRIOR(Apr. 12, 2002):

There's a new chef in town! K'atano has risen in
the ranks of the Jaffa to where he is seen as almost
another god! He want's to have an allegience with
the Tau'ri! Jack is sceptical as always!!

Guest starring: Rick Worthy(Several itterations
of Star Trek)! B+

EPISODE 19: MENACE(Apr. 26, 2002):

On a new planet, the team come across a civilization
that had been long wipped out! But they do find a
survivor, an female android!

I just figured out why I don't care for the episodes
about the Replicators: They're this series' Borg! They
should be totally unbeatable. D

EPISODE 20: THE SENTINAL(May 03, 2002):

The team go on a hunt for Harcesis on a planet
here-to-for unknown to the Stargate group!

Guest starring: Hanry Gibson(Laugh In)! A

is dying! He is blamed for the accident that caused
all this! A

EPISODE 22: REVELATIONS(May 17, 2002):

There's a new big baddie: a Anubus! Who continues
to plague SGC for the remainder of seasons 5-8!

Anyway, Thor is captured by the Goa'uld Osirus!
The team mount a rescue effort!

Last episode of the season! A

From an IMDb.com customer:

I love this series, and every one of the Stargate
series. I started watching in season 7, but quickly
went back and binged every episode on DVD (netflix
wasn't a thing yet). I now own all of SG1 and SGA.
I've watched every episode of SG1 at least 5 times,
SGA about 3 times, and SGU about twice. I think
I'm pretty much obsessed with this series. - captjack-29256
