THE AVENGERS SERIES 3 PAGE

THE AVENGERS SERIES 3

One of the greatest series to come out in the 60s!

Sadly, these have no closed aptions wich would have been
nice as this is a Brittish show with(for us here in the U.S.)
hard to understand "accents"!

One more thing, these are region 2, which only plays on
computers here in the US!!

SERIES THREE:
Brittish TV is done in series' intead of seaons, don't know why!!

For whatever reason, the episodes are not presented in
airing order!!

One more thing here: a lot of these episodes have an
introduction, usually Patrick MacNee and Honor Blackman!

EPISODE # 1: BRIEF FOR MURDER:(Sept. 28, 1963):
(Disc 1)
!

Steed "kills" Cathy in an attempt to find out what two

success ratio of defending criminals! B

!

Steed was assigned to accompany a man to New York but
the man "retires" just before the date! He joins a raft
of men who have suddenly "retire" who also happen to be
rich! A

EPISODE # 3: MAN WITH TWO SHADOWS(Oct. 12, 1963):
(Disc 2)
!

This is about agents being killed and replace with exact
doubles! B

EPISODE # 4: THE NUTSHELL(Oct. 19, 1963):
(Disc 1)
!

Another episode where Steed is thought to be a traitor!
B+

EPISODE # 5: DEATH OF A BATMAN(Oct. 26, 1963):
(Disc 3)
!

An old batman of Steed's dies and was apparently quite rich!!
(a batman is a servant in the Bruttusg service who tends to
the officers! Questions arise when he leaves quite a sum to
his widow! A

EPISODE # 11: THE GOLDEN FLEECE(Dec. 07, 1963):
(Disc 1)

to him and Cathy into a gold smuggling ring!!

I would rate this higher but gotta tell ya it was
nigh on to impossible to understand almost anything
that the actors were saying!! B

EPISODE # 12: DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU(Dec. 14, 1963):
(Disc 2)
!

Totally unlike all the other episodes, this boarders on horror!
Cathy gets invited to a house out in the country but when she
gets there, no one's there 'cept a loony girl, a loony dude,
and voices throughout the house head!! It's all about a loonier
dude who's trying to get back at her for dumping him years ago! C

party for some very well off people! Connected?! A

EPISODE # 15: THE WHITE ELEPHANT(Jan. 04, 1964):
(Disc 5)
!

This is literally about a white elephant, not the
Christmas tradition of exchangin gifts! Anyway,
said white elephan disappears from a zoo aptly
named Noah's Ark and Steed and Cathy go there to
find answers! B+

EPISODE # 16: THE LITTLE WONDERS(Jan. 11, 1964):
(Disc 5)
!

If nothing else this episode is worth watching just
for Lois Maxwell, Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond
movies from Dr. No to A View To A Kill! As for the
episode, Steed decides to turn over a new leaf and
start going to church as a priest! It appears there
are some less than reputible priests doing very
dastardly deeds!! B+

EPISODE # 17: THE WRINGER(Jan. 18, 1964):
(Disc 5)
!

An agent friend of Steed's is missing in Austria/Hungary
and he's been tasked with finding him! This turns out
very bad for Steed!! All about mind control! B

EPISODE # 18: MANDRAKE(Jan. 25, 1964):
(Disc 6)
!

A friend of Steed's dies and it seems to be all well
and good except for when Steed goes to investigate! A

!

country but fails! He is held captive for 5 years

man who he was sent to kill is coming to the country
to work out an arms deal! Consequence? I think not!! A

EPISODE # 23: THE CHARMERS(Feb. 29, 1964):
(Disc 7)
!

There's been a rash of deaths on the other side and
they think Steed and his band of merry men(and ladies)
are behind it all! But the "good guys" think that the
other side is killing them for some unknown reason! So
both sides agree to work together to solve the whole
thing!! B+

Last episode of Honor Blackman(Cathy)! I can't say I'm

her character!

As for the episode, an agent is killed and the building
he's killed in is burt down! It's all about heroin! B
