THE MENTALIST SEASON 3
This series is about a guy named Patrick Jane(played by
Simon Baker) who use to make his living as a psychic who's
wife and son were killed by a serial killer because he was
trying to help the police find him, using his "psychic" abilities!
Kind of a Phych type show, 'cept very serious, although there
is humor sprinkled around in it! Very interesting premise for
a series and very good!!
EPISODE # 1: RED SKY AT NIGHT(Sept. 23, 2010):
A high profile lobbyist is missing and his driver is found dead!!
Jane says he has no interest in this case and he bows out!!
However, everyone else wants him on the case and Lisbon
is put upon to change his mind! This one's pretty easy to figure
out fairly quickly!

EPISODE # 2: CACKLE-BLADDER BLOOD(Sept. 30, 2010):
Jane's brother-in-law is in town with the carney and he calls on
Jane to help him out of a jam!! Seems that he's quite the scam artist
and the latest mark has been shot dead!! Of course since Jane
feels responsible for his wife's, and of course his brother-in-law's
sister's, death he comes to the aid and gets himself embroiled in
the whole mess!! A
EPISODE # 3: THE BLOOD ON HIS HANDS(Oct. 7, 2010):
Two stories going on here: a woman is found by the river which
leads the team to a self-help business!! And the other story is
about a call to a hot line that appears to be from Kristina, who's
been missing for several months!!
Guest starring in this is Malcolm McDowell(Star Trek 7: Generations,
a total of 5 episodes of The Mentalist, Heroes)! A
EPISODE # 4: THE RED CARPET TREATMENT(Oct. 14, 2010):
A man who had been in prison for a rape and murder that
was over turned had his head blown off two days after his
release!! A talk show dudette who had been behind his
conviction is found at the crime scene and is a main suspect!

EPISODE # 5: THE RED PONIES(Oct. 21, 2010):
A jockey gets offed and there's several suspects!! A
EPISODE # 6: PINK CHANEL SUIT(Oct. 28, 2010):
A wealthy judge's mother has just passed away, and as luck
would have it, her daughter's boyfriend is killed during a wake
and the daughter goes missing!! Wouldn't you just know it!!
Anyway, so many suspects, including the mother, sister, security
people, doctor & a dude who the judge put behind bars!! A
EPISODE # 7: RED HOT(Nov. 4, 2010):
A Russian businessman is "blown up" with Jane and Lisbon
right outside the door, along with a returning character, Walter
Mashburn(played by Kevin Spacey look-alike, Currie Graham)!! A
EPISODE # 8: BALL OF FIRE(Nov. 11, 2010):
Jane gets kidnapped, and everyone thinks it's the work of
Red John!! However, there are a lot of other people out there
in la-la land who have a hate on for him!! A
EPISODE # 9: RED MOON(Nov. 18, 2010):
The team investigates a bunch of killings in a small town which
includes several police officers of the area!! The one that doesn't
fit is a young lady who works at a diner!
Compounding the issue is a "psychic" who thinks he knows what
the score is!!
Guest starring in this is John Billingsly(Star Trek: Enterprise!)! A
EPISODE # 10: JOLLY RED ELF(Dec. 9, 2010):
Santa drops out of the sky!! Not to deliver presents, but because
someone has killed him!! Lots of suspects!
As a side plot, there's a new sheriff in town, and he's out to
find out who killed the bad guy from the last episode, and
he thinks that Jane is the most likely suspect! A
EPISODE # 11: BLOODSPORT(Jan. 6, 2011):
This one's about MMA and a writer who's writing about the
perils who gets killed!!

EPISODE # 12: BLOODHOUNDS(Jan. 20, 2011):
A couple of women's bodies are found in a junkyard!! At first
glance it appears to be the work of a serial killer named
The Caveman, but of course nothing in this series is ever
that easy!! A
EPISODE # 13: RED ALERT(Feb. 3, 2011)
A man who'd been accused of killing his wife, but got off
on a technicality, is accused again of a murder!! The crew
gets involved because the mayor's wife is involved in the
whole mess!! This eventually get Jane in a hostage situation
with said suspect, along with several other people, including
the mayor's wife!! A
EPISODE # 14: BLOOD FOR BLOOD(Feb. 10, 2011):
A man who's in the witness protection program and being
guarded by Van Pelt is shot and killed, and his daughter taken
hostage!! A
EPISODE # 15: RED GOLD(Feb. 17, 2011):
It's gold fever in the hills!! A man is found dead in his pick-up
who's been panning for gold for several months after a mini
gold rush!! A
EPISODE # 16: RED QUEEN(Feb. 24, 2011):
A man who imports archaeological artifacts is found dead in a
museum, stabbed many times! This leads to an investigation
that winds up tying this man to the man in Red Moon, and
there's evidence that the whole thing is tied in to Hightower! A
EPISODE # 17: BLODSTREAM(Mar. 10, 2011):
With Hightower on the run, La Roche is now the new head of
the department, and one of the first things he does is take
Lisbon out of control and put Cho in charge of the group!!
As for the case, a doctor is found driven to death at a golf
driving range, and that leads the group to a hospital with
several suspects!! A
EPISODE # 18: THE RED MILE(Mar. 31, 2011):
A man is found dead in a field, and as he's being transported
to the morgue, the ambulance is hijacked and the body stolen!!
Dr. Steiner is the one who'd been driving the vehicle and feels
responsible, and asks Jane if he can help out on the case!!
This, while having its usual amount of humor, is really quite
sad, as this is one of the semi-regulars final episode!!

EPISODE # 19: EVERY ROSE HAS ITS THORN(Apr. 7, 2011):
A man is found at the marina quite dead!! Everything points to
his wife, who has a pretty good alibi! But Jane is convinced and
puts all his efforts into proving that she's guilty! A
EPISODE # 20: REDACTED(Apr. 28, 2011):
There are two story lines going on here: One, a man is killed
in a shop, and the suspects all appear to be on the up and up:
Two, a man breaks into La Roche's house and is caught, and he
has ties to Jane!!
This is actually pretty good, but you can get distracted at the
beginning!! Stick with it to the end, it all comes together!! A
EPISODE # 21: LIKE A REDHEADED STEPCHILD(May 5, 2011):
A prison guard is found dead in an ally!! He's all
dressed up and no where to go! The team gets on the
case with Wayne calling on his dad to see if he knows
anything!
Also happening: Grace is handing out invites to her
impending wedding!! Wayne isn't handling this very
good!! A
EPISODE # 22: RHAPSODY IN RED(May 12, 2011):
A concert cellist is found dead at a bus stop, and Jane heads
to her job to find out who did it!!
As an aside here, Cho gets his car keys ripped off by a kid who
looks to be about 12!! He steals Cho's car, gets caught, and Cho
ends up watching him for a couple of days til juvie can come and
take custody of the kid!! A
EPISODE # 23: STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM PT. 1 & 2(May 19, 2011):
Last show of season, as soon as I saw it was a two parter, and
as it was the last two of the season, I knew the subject was going
to be about Red John!!
Stop me if you've heard this before!! A man walks up to a convenience
store, seems very upset, some cops happen to be there, and he blows
himself up! But, not really! It seems that the device on his body was
placed there by someone else, and detonated by same!!
This all leads to Jane finding out who the mole is at CBI, or at least
one of them, and a confrontation between the team and a very
determined killer!!

When The Mentalist first premiered, I wasn't too
sure how long a show about a fake psychic would
last...but I'm so happy they never touched it and
let it run as long as it did.
"Cho" has always been my favorite due to the 'stare'
he gives stupid people. :) I'm hoping a spin off follows
that brings Van Pelt & Rigsby back - maybe their
quick cameo in the final show is a hint?? Gotta have
Wylie to bring in that 'virginistic' tech dude vibe...and
there is someone female that I wish could come back,
but can't (no spoilers!). She would've been worth
watching working side by side with Cho.
I'll definitely miss this show and can't wait to see
what everyone's up to throughout the year. - jen_marien
