THE MENTALIST SEASON 4
This series is about a guy named Patrick Jane(played by
Simon Baker) who use to make his living as a psychic who's
wife and son were killed by a serial killer because he was
trying to help the police find him, using his "psychic" abilities!
Kind of a Phych type show, 'cept very serious, although there
is humor sprinkled around in it! Very interesting premise for
a series and very good!!
EPISODE # 1: SCARLET RIBBONS(Sept. 22, 2011):
Picking up from the last episode from the last season, Jane is
convicted of murder!! The guy he shot was a "respected"
business man from the area, and his gun was not found at
the mall!! Doesn't look good for the man!! Meanwhile, Lisbon
is in the hospital recovering from the gunshot that she suffered
from the previous episode!! And worse for Jane, Bertram seems
to be totally against him, telling the DA to keep him locked up!! A
EPISODE # 2: LITTLE RED BOOK(Sept. 29, 2011):
After Jane's acquittal, Bertram re-assigns him with another
team, and keeps Lisbon on suspension and scatters the rest
of the team around the force!!! Jane has many suspicions about
the whole force now!! The case in this one concerns a man who
recently moved to this country and worked at a gym where he
was quite the womanizer!!
Bradley Whitford returns for a very brief, but important,
cameo here!! A
EPISODE # 3: PRETTY RED BALLOON(Oct. 6, 2011):
Jane and team gets requested for a kidnapping case when an
eight year old boy gets grabbed! Turns out that the woman who
requested them is an old client of Jane's!! A
EPISODE # 4: RING AROUND THE ROSIE(Oct. 13, 2011):
Two cases going on here! First, a man is stabbed many times in
an ally, which brings us to the second, in which Jane runs into a
man who he thinks has the makings of a mass murderer!! On
the first case, Lisbon and Rigsby run down clues to find out
who killed the dude in the ally! In the second, Jane, Van Pelt &
Cho concoct a plan to make the man show his cards in the
way of a mass murder!!
As a side note, we now have another new head of the department
in Luther Wainwright! A
EPISODE # 5: BLOOD AND SAND(Oct. 20, 2011):
A young woman's body is found on the beach of a small
island off of California!! This little place is holding so many
secrets that it takes quite a little bit to work through all the
hidden stories!! A
EPISODE # 6: WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMINE O'BRIEN(Oct. 27, 2011):
Jane and Lisbon are on a case of a police chief getting killed
and complications arise when a bounty hunter gets involved,
who happens to be Lisbon's brother!! A
EPISODE # 7: BLINKING RED LIGHT(Nov. 3, 2011):
A new serial killer is on the prowl, and Jane figures this one out
pretty quickly!! But he sets an interesting trap for the perpetrator
who winds up in an interesting mess!! A
EPISODE # 8: PINK TOPS(Nov. 17, 2011):
While working on a drug case undercover, a cop is murdered
and all signs point to the drug lords!! But of course Patrick
has his own ideas!! A
EPISODE # 9: THE REDSHIRT(Dec. 8, 2011):
A famous former football player gets blown up in a SUV!
Ok, now for the truth, it was his car, but not him in it!! And
there's just sooooo many suspects in this one, and the star
helps find out who the culprit is!! A
EPISODE # 10: FUGUE IN RED(Dec. 15, 2011):
A lot going on here! A firefighter is killed at a get together at
his house, and while the team is investigating, Jane gets attacked
and loses his memory! This makes him revert back to his old
charlatan ways, but he still helps out the team to find the
killer!
The ending of this is quite hard to watch!! A
EPISODE # 11: ALWAYS BET ON RED(Jan. 12, 2012):
Another episode where there's two things going on at
once!! A high profile lawyer is found dead, and several
possibilities here!! Meanwhile, in a continuation from
episode 7 of this season, an investigator is questioning
Patrick about Red John, and how he could have possibly
still been around to kill the murderer from that episode! A
EPISODE # 12: MY BLOODY VALENTINE(Jan. 19, 2012):
A mobster's son is killed, and it looks as if the killer was
from an apposing mob!! While investigating, Van Pelt
is asked to take a witness back to the office when they
get attacked and get into an accident in the forest!
Totally lost, she and the witness wind their way trying
to find the main road so they can get to safety! A
EPISODE # 13: RED IS THE NEW BLACK(Feb. 3, 2012)
A man in the fashion industry is killed, and there are many
suspects!! But the real story here is that the investigator from
the episode Always Bet On Red is back, even though Jane
did his best to persuade her that Red John was dead, and
because of her meddling, another person gets killed!! A
EPISODE # 14: AT FIRST BLUSH(Feb. 9, 2012):
While at the courthouse, Jane sees a woman being interviewed,
actually inundated with questions, by the press!! She's on trial
for murder of her dance teacher, but Jane sees something in
her that makes him sure that she isn't guilty! So, he talks the
crew into investigating the case to try to stop her from being
found guilty, and they only have a few hours to do it in!! A
EPISODE # 15: WAR OF THE ROSES(Feb. 16, 2012):
A case of a young woman getting killed, and a woman who's
in jail for manslaughter being released to help find the killer!!
And Rigsby is dealing more and more with the pregnancy!! A
EPISODE # 16: THE THOUGHTS WERE RED THOUGHTS(Feb. 23, 2012):
A man who tries to bring down cults is found dead at his desk
late one night! It appears that the current case he was working
on was about Visualize, the same cult that Jane, Lisbon and the
crew have been up against a few other times before!!!
Guest starring again here is Malcolm McDowell(Star Trek:Generations)
in his third of five appearances and Robert Picardo(Star Trek: Voyager)
in his first of four appearances!! A
EPISODE # 17: CHEAP BURGUNDY(Mar. 8, 2012):
Again, two cases in play here: One: At the office a girl is killed that
worked for a maniac who everyone has pegged for the deed; Two:
Jane is dragged off by the dudette that's been pursuing the Red
John case for a case involving a girl getting killed in a forest, but
the real motive for him being there is so the dudette can size up
Jane and find out more about Red John!! A
EPISODE # 18: RUDDY CHEEKS(Mar. 9, 2012):
A man who was dying of cancer has been killed!! Seems pretty
strange, but there are many suspects, son, daughter, girlfriend
doctors and such!! On the side, Cho is getting more and more
addicted to pain killers!! A
EPISODE # 19: PINK CHAMPAGNE ON ICE(Mar. 29, 2012):
Body's found along side the highway beside a car! Clues lead
the team to a casino nearby where he use to work! Strange
thing is, he was an ex-con!!

EPISODE # 20: SOMETHING'S ROTTEN IN REDMUND(Apr. 5, 2012):
School teacher's killed!! Not only was he revered, but a drug
addict, and he liked hookers!! Or was/did he??!!

EPISODE # 21: RUBY SLIPPERS(Apr. 26, 2012):
A gay teen is murdered in his car by someone putting it, and him
on fire!! The father looks good for it, as he was ashamed of his son!
A co-worker also has motive, and then there's drag queens that are
in a building right by where he was killed!! So many possibilities!!
Guest starring here is a very aged William R. Moses(Perry Mason
movies)!! A
EPISODE # 22: SO LONG, AND THANKS FOR THE RED SNAPPER(May 3, 2012):
A surfer dude is missing, and later found dead in the sands by
the ocean!! Clues lead the team to a drug dealer that Summer
knows, and she goes to visit him!! Trouble ensues!! And Kim is
enraged!!
There is a dedication at the end of this episode to "Keith O'Brien"
who was part of the transportation dept. of this series who died
of cancer during the filming of this episode! Just an FYI!! A
EPISODE # 23: RED ROVER, RED ROVER(May 10, 2012):
Main case: a man is found dead in a toxic dump warehouse,
and the suspects are a plenty!! The man was part of an
investment company, and the main players are his ex-fiance,
his boss and his co-workers!
Side plot: Jane gets a note on his windshield from who is assumed
to be Red John! He goes to the cemetery where his family is buried,
and a young girl comes up to him and delivers a message, again
apparently from Red John!! This makes Patrick re-think about his
resolve for vengence! A
EPISODE # 24: THE CRIMSON HAT(May 17, 2012):
Last show of season, this has Jane in Downtown Las Vegas, apparently
down and out and drinking up a storm!! He's met up with some old
acquaintances and has struck up a friendship with a girl that works
at the bar were he's been hanging out!! He's left the department and
has dropped his search for Red John! Or at least that's the way it
looks to the casual observer!
The case back home, a man is found in a park with his face blown
off, and it looks like it has to do with gangs!! But, of course, nothing
in this series is as it seems! A

When The Mentalist first premiered, I wasn't too
sure how long a show about a fake psychic would
last...but I'm so happy they never touched it and
let it run as long as it did.
"Cho" has always been my favorite due to the 'stare'
he gives stupid people. :) I'm hoping a spin off follows
that brings Van Pelt & Rigsby back - maybe their
quick cameo in the final show is a hint?? Gotta have
Wylie to bring in that 'virginistic' tech dude vibe...and
there is someone female that I wish could come back,
but can't (no spoilers!). She would've been worth
watching working side by side with Cho.
I'll definitely miss this show and can't wait to see
what everyone's up to throughout the year. - jen_marien
