The second season of Seth MacFarlane's homage to Star Trek!
Starring a slew of people that no one ever heard of, it does
have Seth as it's main character, the Captain of the ship
The Orville! Also here, out of the realm of Star Trek, is
Penny Johnson(who was Captain Sisko's wife) as Dr. Claire
Finn. The rest of the regular crew for the second season are:
Cmdr. Kelly Grayson(Adrianne Palicki), Lt. Gordon Malloy(Scott
Grimes), Lt. Cmdr. Bortus(Peter Macon), Lt. Alara Kitan(Halston
Sage) who is replaced by Lt. Talia Keyali(Jessica Szohr), Lt.
Cmdr. John LaMarr(J. Lee) & Isaac(Mark Jackson)!
EPISODE # 1: JA'LOJA(Dec. 30, 2018):
Bortus has to pee!! Yep, the whole episode is about Bortus!
Kelly has a new booyfriend!
Dr. Finn is having trouble with her son Marcus!
Thoughout the show the great tune "As Time Goes By"(from the
excellent movie Casablanca)can be heard playing!!

EPISODE # 2: PRIMAL URGES(Jan. 03, 2019):
Another "Bortus episode"! He appears to be addicted to sex!
Klyden is pushed to the point of trying to kill Bortus!
Surely amoung the worst episodes!
The crew discover some life forms on a planet that is being
consumed by their sun! They make a plan to try to save as
many of them as they can!! This part of the episode is very
good, but unfortunately doesn't make up for the other story
line!

There's also a couple of great Billy Joel songs!

The Orville comes upon a new world with some very strange
beliefs, such as if you're born in a certain month(which
coincidentally happens to be the next month after their
contact) and Bortus and Kelly get arrested because their
birthdays are the next month!!!
We get a new security officer here: Lt. Tall Keyali!!
Some of the music is very "Star Trek III"ish!!

A romance is blooming between Dr. Finn and, wait for it:
Issac!!! Bortus decides to grow a mustache!!
While this is not an Earth shaking episode, the plot of
Claire and Isaac has some really sweet moments, and the
music is wonderful!!!!

Continuing from the last episode: it appears that Isaac's
deception of the human's has lead to their demise with a
Kaylon force headed to Earth for mass anhialation!!
One really great battle scene here!!

Just before a treaty meeting with the Krill can happen, a
shuttle is seen running from a Krill ship! On it is an old
friend of Gordons who's about as anti-treaty as a person
can be!! Also with him is his "daughter" who shows tendencies
toward autism! That plus the obvious PTSD that her father
shows seems to indicate impending doom!

Klyden! However, this episode shows some heart to it as there
are a couple of Moclans who are headed to sanctuary for their
baby girl!

The Orville is a show with potential. I liked how it didn't
try too hard to be funny. In fact, it reminded me more of a
Star Trek episode than Family Guy. I suspect there will be
many comparisons to Galaxy Quest.
My concern is the audience. To appreciate this show, I think
you need to be both a science fiction and crude humor fan. I'm
one of these people, but I'm not sure if there are enough of
us to support the production. Hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot
more of The Orville.
Star Trek discovery was also released, and I have to say,
this show comes closer to what I expect in a Star Trek
