STAR TREK: CONTINUES #4: THE WHITE IRIS PAGE

STAR TREK: CONTINUES #4:
THE WHITE IRIS(2015)

This starts out with a dedication to Leonard Nimoy!

Another strong tie-in with the Original Series, as Kirk
is on a planet negotiating an agreement whereby they
will join the Federation and in return get a planet
protector to help against attacks by their neighboring
planet!! All goes well til one of the "dignitaries" attacks
Kirk, sending the whole away team back to the Enterprise
and Kirk to sickbay where he undergoes a treatment
that is new and untried! This does good, except now
Kirk is seeing girls from his past, and he can't remember
the code to unlock the protection device!!

The "ghosts" he "sees" are, in no particular order, Edith
Keeler("City On The Edge Of Forever"), Miramanee("The
Paradise Syndrome"), Rayna("Requiem For Methuselah"),
Nakia(a made up dudette) and a little girl(supposedly
Miramanee's child, though again, made up!!)!!

All the main actors from the previous show show up here!
The story here is pretty good, the acting on the most
part getting better as the episodes go along, and
the sets are still great!! Just not as good as the previous
episode!! I guess my biggest issue is one that was brought
up by another reviewer at IMDb, the ship's "counselor"!!
There never was a counselor on the original Enterprise!!
Nor on Enterprise A, B, or C!!! None in the series at all, nor
any of the original crew movies!! Just seems really out
of place here!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Montgomery Scott,
Commander Spock, Lt. Uhura, Dr. Leonard McCoy, Captain James T.
Kirk, Ensign Pavel Chekov, Lt. Hikaru Sulu & Dr. Elise McKennah! A-

From an IMDb.com customer:

I cannot stop talking about Star Trek Continues! I
feel like I'm a kid again. Every episode I wait in
anticipation for each as if they are a major summer
movie release. "The White Iris" is no different. Quick
somebody give these guys a weekly show! This group
of people get together and...ENERGIZE...Star Trek
happens. Vic Mignogna has put together industry
professionals along with talented amateurs who
really know and love Star Trek to make this colossal
labor of love. Don't want to give anything away so
I'll leave it at this. TOS is back and I pray it doesn't
go away any time soon. If you like the original
series you will like this. Rod Roddenberry (Gene
Roddenberry's son) says his dad would consider
these episodes canon. That is quite an
endorsement. - Ron Estes (thefinswin@gmail.com)

STAR TREK: CONTINUES #5: DIVIDED WE STAND PAGE

STAR TREK: CONTINUES #5:
DIVIDED WE STAND(2015)

And this one starts out with a dedication to Grace
Lee Whitney!

After encountering "Friendship 3", the Enterprise is
inundated with nanites!! This causes a lot of trouble
and Captain Kirk and Doctor McCoy get transplanted
to another time(1862) right in the middle of the civil
war!!

A McCoyism here: "I'm a surgeon, not a butcher"!

This story is just crazy enough that it could have actually
been a part of the series!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Spock,
Captain James T. Kirk, Lt. Hikaru Sulu, Lt. Uhura, Lt.
Montgomery Scott, Dr. Leonard McCoy, Ensign Pavel Chekov &
Dr. Elise McKennah! A

From an IMDb.com customer:

I keep being so impressed by this show. This latest episode
is simply outstanding. It feels to me, completely true to the
Star Trek spirit. The story is compelling, the acting is smart
and the writing is both witty and entertaining. The dialogues
just flow and it's all coming together like a well oiled machine.
Speaking of which, now that Chuck Huber has found his
footing as Dr. McCoy, they've got it all "just right" in my opinion.
On the topic of McCoy, we love you Larry! Keep doing what
you're doing, just stay on the other side of the camera. Thanks
guys for having produced another little gem. This show is
such a treat. - Jojo Mojo

STAR TREK: CONTINUES EPISODE 6:
COME NOT BETWEEN THE DRAGONS PAGE

STAR TREK: CONTINUES EPISODE 6:
COME NOT BETWEEN THE DRAGONS(2013)

Kind of a cross between TOS' "The Devil In The Dark", "Day
Of The Dove" & "The Squire Of Gothos"! A space entity has
boarded the Enterprise for purposes unknown, and right
after it arrives the ship starts getting hit with waves
of energy that start affecting the crew to the point of
warring amoungst themselves!!

The acting here is, in my opinion, really below par!
Decent enough story, and of course the SFX are stellar,
but this is just not as good as some of the others that
Vic and crew have put out! And definitely not of the
calibur of Star Trek: The New Voyages!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain James
T. Kirk, Lt. Montgomery Scott, Dr. Elise McKennah, Ensign
Pavel Chekov, Lt. Hikaru Sulu, Commander Spock, Lt. Uhura &
Dr. Leonard McCoy! B

From an IMDb.com customer:

I am a big fan of Star Trek Continues, and truly thrilled
with the work that Vic Mignogna and the rest of the team
has done and continues to do. The sets are amazing, and
the sound effects, costumes, story lines... everything...
are on target with the original series. We are very lucky
that these fans have pulled together to create STC. I do
have to say though, that I was a bit disappointed in the
character portrayal of Captain Kirk in this last episode.
In the original series, Captain Kirk has a persona of
being bigger and better than the average Star Trek human.
This "super human" nature is what makes him such a wonderful
leader and captain. You can count on him to put up a bigger
fight and hold on longer than any other captain in the fleet!
In the original series, Captain Kirk would put up a heroic
fight before succumbing to any alien force. He would exhibit
emotional and physical struggles to retain control of himself
before being consumed. I did not see that struggle in "Come
Not Between the Dragons." Captain Kirk seemed to just give
right in to the anger that was consuming the crew. No big
deal. Go with the flow... oh what a disappointment! To remain
true to his character, Vic needed to exhibit a super-human
struggle before falling into the anger. I really missed that
in this episode. Vic is a good actor, and he could have pull
this off with no problem. It just did not
happen. - susancomics from Omaha, NE
