a guy who shot himself to get out of harms way!!
Later, that same war, Jake and Bashir are going out
to get a portable generator when they get attacked
and Jake does the heroic thing, he runs away!!!!
I believe the whole reason for this is to show the
horors of war, and to that purpose, it succeeds
swimmingly!

On the side here, Odo is dealing with being a "solid"!

this particular situation, I can fully underestand with

EPISODE 7: LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN...(Nov. 11, 1996):

Worf being his asshole self, with him and Jadzia planning
a trip to Riza for a vacation, which, suddenly, there are
more going there than are left on the station!! Dr. Bashir,
Leeta Alexander and Quark(yep, Quark) are headed there also!
While there, Worf runs into a fundamentalist who is the head
of a group that's trying to shut down Riza, as well as all
"bad influences" within Starfleet!! And Worf is taking their
side!!! WTF!!!! As I've said before, the relationship between
him and Dax was one of the stupidest in all of TV history!

has her doubts that she's the right person to be

From an IMDb.com customer:

I just recently bought the DVDs for my son because
we had just finished watching STNG on DVD. I have
tried to get into this show but I just can't. I
don't feel the acting is up to par of STNG. I
actually liked the optimistic, TNG. I am already
tired of the politics of DS9; tired of the
Cardassians, tired of the prophets and tired
of the Ferengi. I can't imagine watching 5 more
seasons with my son! I just may have to relegate
the show to my playroom. However, I miss Picard,
I miss Riker, Data, Geordi, Troi and Dr. Crusher.
That show felt like family. I can't even relate
to this cast. My favorite of the DS9 cast is Dr.
Bashir. He's just such a cutie.

I can see why this show polarized fans. You either
love it or you don't. I'm hoping the seasons get
better (I've read they do)but my enjoyment of this
show pales in comparison to TNG, which did have
dark episodes. They just weren't the primary focus,
thank God. - KittyMurray12
