After their ship was disabled last episode, survival is
the name of the game for Sisko and his crew! While running
from some Jem'Hadar ships, the ship is even further damaged
and it crash lands on a planet inside a dark matter nebula!
In the accident, Dax gets injurred! To increase the wonderful
situation here, a Jem'Hadar ship has also crashed on said
planet, making matters much worse for the crew!
Meanwhile, back on DS9, there's a protest in the plans and
Odo and Kira think this is a very bad idea!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Chief O'Brien,
Lt. Commander Dax, Nog, Garak, Captain Sisko, Dr. Bashir,
Lt. Commander Worf, Lt. Commander Kira Nyris, Jake Sisko
& Security Chief Odo! A
EPISODE 3: SONS AND DAUGHTERS(Oct. 13, 1997):
Worf's son Alexander shows up as a volunteer in the Klingon
services and winds up on the ship that General Martok and
Worf are commanding!! Ziyal, Gul Dukat's daughter, shows
up on DS9 for reasons unknown! Both of these have grave
consequences!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Commander Dax,
Lt. Commander Worf, General Martok, Cheif O'Brien, Dr.
Bashir, Captain Sisko, Major Kira, Security Chief Odo, Jake
Sisko, Quark, Legat Dumar, Gul Dukat & Ziyal!!
Showing up for the first time in many episodes is Alexander,
Worf's son(played by a different actor)!
EPISODE 4: BEHIND THE LINES(Oct. 20, 1997):
First Sisko is tasked with the distruction of a tracking
station, then out of the blue, promoted to the second
to Admiral Ross! This puts Dax in command of the mission!
On DS9, Odo gets a surprise visitor in the form of the
female shapeshifter from several episodes ago! They form
a link with each other which threatens the resistance
greatly!!!

Dax, Chief O'Brien, Rom, Major Kira Nerys, Quark, Gul
Dukat, Weyoun, Legat Dumar, Securiry Chief Odo, Morn,
Jake Sisko & Lt. Commander Worf!! A
EPISODE 5: FAVOR THE BOLD(Oct. 27, 1997):
Odo is becoming more and more enthralled by the female
changling, which greatly disturbs Kira, Quark and the
rest of the resistance! And Rom is still under arrest,
and up to be executed! Meanwhile, there's a plan afoot
to re-take DS9! And an unlikly ally comes to the aid of
the group on DS9!!
Nog is promoted to Ensign!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Commander
Dax, Nog, Chief O'Brien, Lt. Commander Worf, Dr. Bashir,
Captain Sisko, Garak, Quark, Morn, Security Chief Odo,
Weyoun, Legat Dumar, Rom, Leeta, Ziyel, General Martok
& Jake Sisko! A
EPISODE 6: SACRIFICE OF ANGELS(Nov. 3, 1997):
Continued from the previous episode!
The move to take back DS9 continues, and Dukat decides
that to be safe, he should get Kira, Jake and Leeta out
of the way by putting them behind "bars"!
Everything hinges on, of all people, Quark and Leeta!
And finally, Odo!
Sadly, this bring the death of a semi-major charactor!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Sisko,
Lt. Commander Dax, Garak, Chief O'Brien, Ensign Nog, Dr.
Bashir, Gul Dukat, Weyoun, Legat Dumar, Leeta, Quark,
Jake Sisko, Major Kira Narys, Security Chief(?) Odo,
Lt. Commander Worf, Ziyel, Rom & General Martok!! A-
EPISODE 7: YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED(Nov. 10, 1997):
This was not as much fun as it could have been! It centers
on the Klingon rituals surrounding marriage, which includes
many trials! The men endure several different trials, while
Dax endures General Martok's wife! And on the side, Odo &
Kira are having trouble with re-establishing their relationship
after the occupation!
As I'm sure you've noticed by now, I'm not a big fan of
the character Worf! This did nothing to change that opinion!
However, Dax is one of my favorites from the series, so
my rating is more for her than him!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Morn, Captain Sisko,
Major Kira Nyres, General Martok, Alexander, Lt. Commander Dax,
Lt. Commander Dax, Lt. Commander Worf, Quark, Security Chief Odo,
Cheif O'Brien, Dr. Bashir, Jake Sisko, Leeta Alexander, Nog,
Rom & Odo!! A-
EPISODE 8: RESURRECTION(Nov. 17, 1997):
Vedek Bareil, back from the dead? Well, not quite! A dude
who looks like him and has the same name is transported
from the alternate universe that has plagued this series
to the here and now DS9! This gives Kira pause to wonder
if this is a second chance for love with Berial, who turns
out to be nothing more than a common thief!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Commander
Dax, Major Kira, Lt. Commander Worf, Captain Sisko,
Alternate Universe Beriel, Security Cheif Odo, Dr.
Bashir & Quark!! B
EPISODE 9: STATISTICAL PROBABILITIES(Nov. 24, 1997):
The main story is about a group of four genetically
enhanced people who are having trouble in the real
world, and go to see Dr. Bashir to see if he can help
them out! Turns out that they are so far more intelligent
than the rest of the humans that they've basically gone
unnoticed! The second part of the show is about the
dominion saying that they want peace and want to sign
a peace treaty! But the group think there's a lot more
to their story!
This story started out with such great potential, but
then turned really stupid!
Starring, in order of appearance: Dr. Bashir, Lt.
Commander Dax, Captain Sisko, Major Kira, Security
Chief Odo, Chief O'Brien, Lt. Commander Worf,
Weyoun, Legat Dumar, & Quark!! B+
EPISODE 10: THE MAGNIFICENT FERENGI(Jan. 01, 1998):
Quark's mother has been kidnapped by the Dominion
and the Grand Nagus has ordered Quark to rescue her!!
So Quark proceeds to put together a Ferengi swat team
to rescue Moogie!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Morn, Quark,
Leeta Alexander, Securit Chief Odo, Lt. Commander Dax,
Chief O'Brien, Rom, Captain Sisko, Ensign Nog & Major
Kira! B+
EPISODE 11: WALTZ(Jan. 8, 1998):
While taking Dukat to his hearing, the ship that Sisko
and he are on is attaked, Sisko blacks out, and the
next thing he knows is that he's on a planet with Dukat
who has apparently saved both their lives but also seems
to be having delusions! And the crew of the Defiant mounts
a rescue attempt! And the Difiant only has 52 hours
for the rescue!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Gul Dukat,
Captain Sisko, Major Kira, Security Chief Odo, Chief
O'Brien, Lt. Commander Dax, Lt. Commander Worf, Weyoun,
Legat Dumar & Dr. Bashir!!
This is really a good episode! A
EPISODE 12: WHO MOURNS FOR MORN?(Feb. 04, 1998):
The ship that Morn was on while on a trade mission
is destroyed!! Quark, in all his humble manner, holds
a memorial service for him! Everyone tells all their
stories about him and his many discussions with him!
Oh, and Morn left everything to Quark, which incluedes
1000 bars of latinum and an ex-wife! Oh, and all of his
debts!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Chief Odo,
Morn, Quark, Dr. Bashir, Chief O'Brien, Lt. Commander
Dax, Captain Sisko, Lt. Commander Worf & Major Kira!!
A fun, if not predictable episode! A
EPISODE 13: FAR BEYOND THE STARS(Feb. 11, 1998):
Sisko has lost another friend in the war and he's
questioning whether he should continue on or retire!
To add to his confusion, he's having halucinations!
These halucinations place him in the past as a writer,
along with several of the crew members!
Perhaps the best episode that Michael Dorn ever did
in Star Trek!
Directed by Avery Brooks, this is heavily about race!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Major Kira,
Captain Sisko, Lt. Commander Dax, Kassidy Yates, Dr.
Bashir, Jake Sisko, Chief O'Brien, Quark(in civilian
attire), Chief Odo(in civilian attire), Lt. Commander
Worf(in civilian attire), Weyoun(in civilian attire),
General Martok(in civilian attire), Gul Dukat(in civilian
attire) & Nog(in civilian attire)!! A-
EPISODE 14: ONE LITTLE SHIP(Feb. 18, 1998):
While on a scientific mission, Sisko and the crew
of the Defiant are using their tractor beam to
protect the Rubican(a shuttle) as they attempt to
shrink down for tests! Problems arise when the
Defiant is attacked by the Dominion, and this leaves
the crew of the Rubican in really bad shape!
This is actually pretty silly! But the special effects
are quite stunning!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Major Kira,
Ensign Nog, Captain Sisko, Lt. Commander Worf, Chief
O'Brien, Dr. Bashir, Lt. Commander Dax, Morn, Security
Chief Odo & Quark!! A-
EPISODE 15: HONOR AMONG THIEVES(Feb. 25, 1998):
O'Brien is working undercover to find a mole in Starfleet
who's been helping out a crime syndicate! This puts him
in a lot of danger! And the worst part is that he is getting
to attached to the man he's supposed to be spying on!
A very sad episode!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Chief O'Brien,
Quark, Security Chief Odo, Major Kira, Dr. Bashir, Lt.
Commander Worf, Lt. Commander Dax & Captain Sisko! A
EPISODE 16: CHANG OF HEART(Mar. 04, 1998):
Worf and Dax get an assignment to meet up with a
Cardassian operative which informs the two that
he wants to defect and get off out of Cardassian
controlled space!
On the side, O'Brien becomes obsessed with Tongo and
beating Quark, who's on a impressive winning streak!
This begins the end for Jadzia! :)
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Commander
Dax, Quark, Lt. Commander Worf, Chief O'Brien, Major Kira,
Dr. Bashir & Captain Sisko!! A
EPISODE 17: WRONGS DARKER THAN DEATH OR NIGHT(Apr. 01, 1998):
On Kira's mother's birthday, she gets a call from
of all people, Dukat!! He proceeds to tell her that
her mother left her father for him!! This, of course,
puts Kira in a VERY bad mood!! With Odo's advice to
do something about it, she goes to Sisko and asks to
be allowed to go to Bajor to use the Orb of Time to
find out the truth!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Commander
Dax, Lt. Commander Worf, Quark, Major Kira, Morn, Gul
Dukat, Chief O'Brien, Dr. Bashir, Chief Odo & Captain
Sisko! A
EPISODE 18: INQUISITION(Apr. 08, 1998):
Internal affairs is conducting an inquisition on DS9
saying that there's an apparent colaborator with the
Cardassians on board, and they're starting at the top
questioning all the officers on board!
This is all about Dr. Bashir! And quite the witch
hunt!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Dr. Bashir,
Security Chief Odo, Chief O'Brien, Lt. Commander Dax,
Major Kira, Lt. Commander Worf, Captain Sisko, Quark,
Morn & Weyoun! A
EPISODE 19: IN THE PALE MOONLIGHT(Apr. 15, 1998):
Sisko wrestles with decisions he made to try to lure
the Romulans into the war against the Dominion! In
the process, he bribes, counterfeits, and generally goes
against everything he believes in to succeed!
Andrew Robinson does a great job in this, but the
main problem is that Avery Brooks has to carry 90%
of this show, and he is, to me, a very weak actor at
best! Not a fan of this episode!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Sisko,
Lt. Commander Dax, Dr. Bashir, Garak, Lt. Commander Worf,
Major Kira, Quark, Chief Odo, Legat Dumar & Weyoun! B
EPISODE 20: HIS WAY(Apr. 22, 1998):
One of the best epsodes, with the great James Darrin
as Vic Fontane! He plays what he is, a singer! He has
helped Bashir with his relationship issues, and
Odo thinks that perhaps he can help him with his
not so secret crush on Kira!
Darrin sounds really great in this!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Dr. Bashir,
Lt. Commander Worf, Major Kira, Chief Odo, Lt. Commander
Dax, Chief O'Brien, Quark, Morn & Captain Sisko
Darrin sings several tunes here, including "Come Fly
We Me", "You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You", "They
Can't Take That Away From Me" & "I've Got You Under
My Skin"! And Nana Visitor sings "Fever"! And Odo
and Sisko sing a part of "They Can't Take That Away
From Me"! A+
EPISODE 21: THE RECKONING(Apr. 29, 1998):
An artifact is found on Bajor and it appears to have
a grave prophecy concerning Bajor and Sisko!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Sisko,
Lt. Commander Worf, Lt. Commander Dax, Dr. Bashir, Security
Cheif Odo, Major Kira, Jake Sisko, Kai Winn, Quark & Morn! A-
EPISODE 22: VALIANT(May 06, 1998):
While on a trip to Feringanar, Nog and Jake are intercepted
by a group of Jem'Hadar war ships!! Not looking good for
the young friends! They are rescued by the ship Valiant,
manned by the Red Squad, an elite group of cadets from
Starfleet!(this is the same Red Squad that were prominant
in an episode of TNG where they were responsible for another
cadets death, but lied about what happened, including Ensign
Wesley Crusher!) They had to take control of the ship when
the main crew of the ship were either killed or badly wounded!
It seems as though this group of Red Squad members seems to
be headed the same direction!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Morn, Security
Chief Odo, Quark, Lt. Commander Dax, Jake Sisko, Ensign
Nog, Major Kira, Lt. Commander Worf, Captain Sisko & Dr.
Bashir! A
EPISODE 23: PROFIT AND LACE(May 13, 1998):
Grand Nagus Zek has implemented some new laws on
Faringanar, and it has got him deposed! He reaches
out with Quark's and Nog's mother to them to help
him re-take his position!
This is really silly!!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Quark, Rom,
Captain Sisko, Lt. Commander Worf, Major Kira, Lt.
Commander Dax, Ensign Nog, Leeta Alexander, Dr. Bashir
Morn & Security Chief Odo!!
Returning again as Grand Nagus Zek is Wallace Shawn! B
EPISODE 24: TIME'S ORPHAN(May 20, 1998):
While the O'Brien's are on a picknick on a Bajoran
planet, Molly falls into a time warp, and when they
finally rescue her, she's 10 years older, and she's
become wild and unmanagable!!!
Also going on, Worf is having doubts about his ability
to be a father, as he is trying to help out the O'Briens
by watching Kirayoshi for them while they try to re-establish
their relationship with Molly!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Molly O'Brien,
Keiko O'Brien, Chief O'Brien, Kirayoshi O'Brien, Major Kira,
Lt. Commander Dax, Security Chief Odo, Dr. Bashir, Lt.
Commander Worf, Quark, Morn & Captain Sisko!
For the first time in many episodes, Keiko, Molly and
Kirayoshi O'Brien return to the show! And the girl that
plays the older Molly does a really good job!! A very sad
but sweet episode! A+
EPISODE 25: THE SOUND OF HER VOICE(June 10, 1998):
On their way back from a mission, the Defiant intercepts
a distress call from a woman saying she's crashed on a
planet and needs "heroes"!
On the side, Odo is giving Quark a bad time when he
get interrupted by Kira, who distracts him and off he
goes! Quark appears to be formulating a plan around
this distraction, to his benifit!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Security Chief
Odo, Morn, Quark, Major Kira, Jake Sisko, Kasidy Yates,
Captain Sisko, Dr. Bashir, Lt. Commander Worf & Chief
O'Brien! A
EPISODE 26: TEARS OF THE PROPHETS(June 17, 1998):
Sisko get a medal, then the news that he's to head an
attack on the Dominion! He, in turn, starts getting
visions from the Prophets saying that he needs to
stick by Bajor!! And Dukat returns, and uses a Bajoran
artifact to tip the scales in the Dominion's favor!
Meanwhile, Dax and Worf have decided to have a baby
which puts Bashir and Quark in a very foul mood!
James Darrin sings again here, "Here's to the Losers"!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Sisko,
Major Kira, Security Chief Odo, Lt. Commander Dax, Chief
O'Brien, Jake Sisko, Dr. Bashir, Lt. Commander Worf, Quark,
General Martok, Weyoun, Gul Dukat, Legat Dumar, Ensign
Nog & Garak!
This is continued in the first episode of the last seaon,
and things don't go very well!!
Guest starring again here is James Darin!!
Last episode for Jadzia Dax(this was because Terry
Farrell wanted to do other projects)!! A-

From an IMDb.com customer:
I just recently bought the DVDs for my son because
we had just finished watching STNG on DVD. I have
tried to get into this show but I just can't. I
don't feel the acting is up to par of STNG. I
actually liked the optimistic, TNG. I am already
tired of the politics of DS9; tired of the
Cardassians, tired of the prophets and tired
of the Ferengi. I can't imagine watching 5 more
seasons with my son! I just may have to relegate
the show to my playroom. However, I miss Picard,
I miss Riker, Data, Geordi, Troi and Dr. Crusher.
That show felt like family. I can't even relate
to this cast. My favorite of the DS9 cast is Dr.
Bashir. He's just such a cutie.
I can see why this show polarized fans. You either
love it or you don't. I'm hoping the seasons get
better (I've read they do)but my enjoyment of this
show pales in comparison to TNG, which did have
dark episodes. They just weren't the primary focus,
thank God. - KittyMurray12
