STAR TREK - ENTERPISE SEASON 4(2004-2005)
With the all-time worst theme song of any science fiction
show in history, this show starts out with a whimper!
Unfortunately, this starts out with a whimper, as it
continues on from the ending of last season! It turns
into a hot mess quickly!
With the whole crew returning, the fourth and final
round starts! If I hadn't already known that this was
the last season, I would have known it by the eighth
episode! Brannon and Braga totally failed with this
series, which is unfortunate, cause it really did have
promise!
EPISODE 01: STORM FRONT PART 1(Oct. 08, 2004):
So here we now have the Enterprise and crew stuck in
an alternate past where the Nazis have won WWII and
have taken over the US! As you can guess, this puts
our intrepid crew in quite a bind!
Daniels appears again, and as is obvious, responsible
for the Enterprise crew's throw back in time!
My buddy Jim calls these the "Space Nazis episodes"!!!!
There's one deleted scene here!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Charles
Tucker III,Ensign Travis Mayweather Captain Jonathan Archer,
Ensign Hoshi Sato, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Sub Commander T'Pol &
Dr. Phlox! B-
EPISODE 2: STORM FRONT PART 2(Oct. 15, 2004):
The fight against the Nazis and the Sulibans continues!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Sub Commander T'Pol, Ensign Hoshi
Sato, Ensign Travis Mayweather, Commander Charles Tucker
III & Dr. Phlox. B-
EPISODE 3: HOME(Oct. 22, 2004):
After a rousing reception when they return to Earth, the
crew find out that the people of Earth are not the same
as when they all left, and there's a lot of finger pointing
to put blame on anyone and everyone! And T'Pol and Trip
go to Vulcan where they get a very cold reception!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Commander Charles Tucker III, Sub Commander T'Pol,
Dr. Phlox, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Ensign Travis Mayweather &
Ensign Hoshi Sato!
Guest starring here are Joanna Cassidy(Diagnosis Murder,
Boston Legal) & Vaughn Armstrong who returns as Admiral
Forrest! C
EPISODE 4: BORDERLAND(Oct. 29, 2004):
Episode starts with what seems like two humans who are
on a supposedly stranded ship that is grabbed by the
Klingons! Unfortunately for the Klingons, these are not
normal humans but genitically enhanced humans(a la "Space
Seed"!)! And Archer goes to the only man that seems to be
the most likely culprit behind the attack!!
A tie-in with both the TOS episode "Space Seed" and TNG's
Noonien Soong!
This is a good but bad episode! Quite an interesting tale,
but again this would have been discussed in TOS, which it
wasn't!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Ensign Travis Mayweather, Commander
Charles Tucker III, Ensign Hoshi Sato, Sub Commander T'Pol &
Dr. Phlox!
Guest starring Brent Spiner as Soong! Also here is JG
Hertzler(In DS9 as General Martok)!
Continued in the next episode! B
EPISODE 5: COLD STATION 12(Nov. 05, 2004):
The Enterprise continues it's persuit of Dr. Soong
and his band of merry men(and women)!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander
Charles Tucker III, Captain Jonathan Archer, Lt.
Malcolm Reed, Dr. Phlox, Sub Commander T'Pol,
Ensign Hoshi Sato & Ensign Travis Mayweather!
Brent Spiner returns!
And again the story is continued!(It comes to mind
that they couldn't come up with enough new stoies
to fill the season, so they stretched out as many
of the stories they had to fill up a semi-full season)! C
EPISODE 6: THE AUGMENTS(Nov. 12, 2004):
The end of the three episode arc that should've been
done in one! As one would expect, everyone dies! LOL!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Dr. Phlox,
Lt. Malcolm Reed, Captain Jonathan Archer, Sub Commander
T'Pol, Commander Charles Tucker III, Ensign Hoshi Sato
& Ensign Travis Mayweather!
And of course Brent Spiner returns! C
EPISODE 7: THE FORGE(Nov. 19, 2004):
There's an attack on the Earth's embassy on Vulcan and
Admiral Forrest it killed! The two factions under suspicion
are the Andorians and a faction of Vulcans called Syrrannites!
This is very unsettling for T'Pol as her mother is one of
said Syrrannites!!
Perhaps the final really good episode of the series!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Malcolm
Reed, Ensign Hoshi Sato, Commander Charles Tucker III,
Dr. Phlox, Sub Commander T'Pol, Captain Jonathan Archer
& Travis Mayweather!
Guest starring in his final appearance is Vaughn Armstrong
as Admiral Forrest! Alos guest starring is Robert Foxworth
(Transformers I, II, III IV, The Librarian: The Return To
King Solomon's Mine, Star Trek: DS9 as Admiral Leyton &
Babylon 5 as General William Hague)!
Again, this begins a multi-episode storyline! They really
are hurting for stories! A
EPISODE 8: AWAKENING(Nov. 26, 2004):
This is a continuation of the previous episode! The high
counsil is continuing their quest to eliminate the resistance
by bombing them out of existance!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Sub Commander T'Pol, Commander Charles Tucker III
Ensign Travis Mayweather, Ensign Hoshi Sato & Lt. Malcolm
Reed!
No Dr. Phlox in this!!
This episode continues the desicration of all we have known
of Star Trek!! B-
EPISODE 9: KIR'SHARA(Dec. 03, 2004):
The end of another pretty dumb arc!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Sub Commander T'Pol, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Commander
Charles Tucker III, Ensign Travis Mayweather, Ensign Hoshi
Sato & Dr. Phlox!
Jeffrey Combs returns, as does Robert Foxworth! B-
EPISODE 10: DAEDALUS(Jan. 14, 2005):
The man who developed the transporter is on board the
the Enterprise to test a new type of subquantum transport!
But is he really? And, is he REALLY?
The has some familiarity to the TOS episode "The Tholean
Web"!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Charles
Tucker III, Captain Jonathan Archer, Sub Commander T'Pol,
Lt. Malcolm Reed & Dr. Phlox!
Seen but not heard are Ensign Travis Mayweather & Ensign
Hoshi Sato! B-
EPISODE 11: OBSERVER EFFECT(Jan. 21, 2005):
Some non-coporeal beings take over several of the
crew to observe how they react in different situations!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Travis
Mayweather, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Ensign Hoshi Sato, Commander
Charles Tucker III, Captain Jonathan Archer, Dr. Phlox &
Sub Commander T'Pol! B+
EPISODE 12: BABEL ONE(Jan. 28, 2005):
The Tellorites and Andorians are set to sit down at a table for
peace negotiations when one of the Andorian's ships is attacked,
presumably by the Tellorites!!
This is an homage to the TOS episode "Journey To Babel"!
This has Romulans in a light that wasn't ever established
in any other Star Trek series!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Hoshi Sato
Captain Jonathan Archer, Commander Charles Tucker III, Sub-
Commander T'Pol, Ensign Travis Mayweather, Lt. Malcolm Reed
& Dr. Phlox!
The beginning of the end for one of the main carachters!:(
Again returning for another round is Jeffrey Combs as Shran!
And again, this starts a mutli-episode arc! They just really
couldn't come up with ideas for episodes, and the series was
officially cancelled after this aired! A-
EPISODE 13: UNITED(Feb. 04, 2005):
Archer has the great idea of a united(get it?) faction
to go after the drone of the Romulans!
This has the death of a semi-recurring character!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Charles
Tucker III, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Captain Jonathan Archer, Ensign
Travis Mayweather, Sub Commander T'Pol, Dr. Phlox & Ensign
Hoshi Sato!!
Guest starring a returning Jeffrey Combs(DS9)! B+
EPISODE 14: THE AENAR(Feb. 11, 2005):
The Aenar are a sub-species of Andorians and one of
them is the pilot for the Romulan ship! As for the
Romulans, their only mission now is to hunt down and
destroy the Enterprise!
This has one deleted scene here!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Sub Commander
T'Pol, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Commander Charles Tucker III,
Captain Jonathan Archer, Dr. Phlox, Ensign Travis
Mayweather & Ensign Hoshi Sato(seen but not heard)!
This has a very sad ending! B+
EPISODE 15: AFFLICTION(Feb. 18, 2005):
The part about Trip and T'Pol has just gotten stupid!
The other story, about Dr. Phlox, is compelling! He's
been kidnapped by the Klingons(through Rigellians) who
want him to find a cure for a deadly desease!
And again the Lt. is contacted by the secret police who
ask him to spy for them against Archer! Again, a stupid
story line! I think at this point Braga and Berman had
given up on the series, going to stories that they knew
would be unpopular with most of the Star Trek nation!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Charles
Tucker III, Sub Commander T'Pol, Ensign Hoshi Sato, Dr.
Phlox, Captain Jonathan Archer, Lt. Malcolm Reed & Ensign
Travis Mayweather!
Guest starring is John Schuck(this man's done so much, Star Trek
IV, Star Trek VI, guest starring roles on both DS9 & Voyager as
well as Babylon 5, McMillan & Wife, Dick Tracy)!! Also guesting
for his second stint is Seth McFarlan(The Orville)!
Again, a multi-episode story line! B-
EPISODE 16: DIVERGENCE(Feb. 25, 2005):
Concluding the stories(or at least most of them) from
the previous episode!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Commander Charles Tucker III,
Ensign Travis Mayweather, Sub Commander T'Pol, Dr. Phlox &
Ensign Hoshi Sato!
John Schuck returns and does great as usual!!! C
EPISODE 17: BOUND(Apr. 15, 2005):
An Orian has a proposition for Archer, information on
some magnasite, and if Starfleet is successful in mining
it, he'd like a 10% cut! To celibrate the agreement, he
gives Archer three Orian slave girls! This starts causing
problems with the male members of the crew, and things go
from bad to worse!! The only one not affected is Trip, so
it' up to him to solve the mystery!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Sub Commander
T'Pol, Captain Jonathan Archer, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Ensign
Hoshi Sato, Commander Charles Tucker III, Ensign Travis
Mayweather & Dr. Phlox!
The first stand-alone episode since #11, "Observer Effect"! A
EPISODE 18: IN A MIRROR, DARKLY PART I(Apr. 22, 2005):
"Mirror, Mirror" all over again!! Even the beginning is
different, just as they did on the TOS episode! It is
interesting that almost all of the actors did well as
their "evil twins" except for Scott Bakula!! He just
doesn't fit the part!
While the TOS episode had four of the crew of the Enterprise
transferring to the mirror universe, this one only has one,
the Captain!
Hoshi's and T'Pol's outfits are pretty cool!
This episode has, in order of appearance: "Lt. Malcolm Reed",
"Dr. Phlox", "Captain Jonathan Archer", "Ensign Hoshi Sato"
"Sub Commander T'Pol", "Ensign Travis Mayweather" & "Commander
Charles Tucker III"!
Guest starring for his last stint is a returning Vaughn
Armstrong!
This is continued in the next episode! A
EPISODE 19: IN A MIRROR, DARLY PART II(Apr. 29, 2005):
The conclusion to the mirror story arc, and Bakula is worse
in this than the first part!
This episode utilizes just about every device the TOS
series has, including clothing!!
The Gorn here looks absolutely nothing like the one on
TOS!!!!
Several regular member deaths here!
This has one deleted scene!
This episode has, in order of appearance: "Captain Jonathan
Archer", "Commander Charles Tucker III", "Sub Commander T'Pol",
"Lt. Malcolm Reed", "Ensign Travis Mayweather", "Ensign Hoshi
Sato" & "Dr. Phlox"!
Guest starring here is Majel Barrett as the computer voice!!!
This ends with quite a cliffhanger! I believe that they were
planning to continue this line of stories in the next season
which never happened! B+
EPISODE 20: DEMONS(May 06, 2005):
Ok, so the story is that Trip and T'Pol have had a baby -
that neither of them knew about! And it seems that there are
factions that are very much against its survival!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Commander Charles Tucker III, Dr. Phlox, Ensign
Travis Mayweather, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Ensign Hoshi Sato &
Sub Commander T'Pol!
Guest starring here is the Peter Weller(Robo Cop)!
As I have mentioned before, it was obvious early on that
this series was dead with all the multi-episodic stories!
And yes, this is another one!! C-
EPISODE 21: TERRA PRIME(May 13, 2005):
This pits some humans against well, everyone! And the
baby, well, it's story becomes clear!
And there's a traitor on Enterprise that's behind the
baby's exestance!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Jonathan
Archer, Ensign Hoshi Sato, Lt. Malcolm Reed, Sub Commander
T'Pol, Commander Charles Tucker III, Ensign Travis Mayweather,
& Dr. Phlox!
Connor really did an excellent job in this episode!!
This really should have been the final episode, but unfortunately
it wasn't! A
EPISODE 22: THESE ARE THE VOYAGES(May 13, 2005):
While this is the last episode of the series, the true
end came in the last episode!
TNG alumni Riker and Troi discuss what happened to the
Enterprise at the end of their mission!
This episode has, in order of appearance: "Ensign Travis
Mayweather", "Ensign Hoshi Sato", "Lt. Malcolm Reed", "Sub-
Commander T'Pol", "Captain Jonathan Archer", Commander
Charles Tucker III & Dr. Phlox!
Guest starring in this final episode are Jonathan Frakes
& Mirina Sirtis as well as Jeffrey Combs!!
Also here you hear the voices of Captain James T. Kirk,
Captain Jean Luc Picard & Commander Data!
The death of a main character here is totally unnecessary
and detracts totally from the story, and if not for that
this would have garnered an A from me! C-

From an IMDb.com customer:
Many people have stated what they feel is wrong
with this series. I think I just might have the
answer: the show has no sense of the fantastic.
Remember Kirk and the doomsday machine? Picard
meeting himself from 6 hours in the future? The
Enterprise meeting a giant space amoeba? The idea
now seems to be 'if it isn't within current scientific
journals we don't do it'. Berman must accept the
blame for this. ST:TNG was a super show, and DS9
started out that way. As soon as Roddenberry was
gone - poof! Berman decided to turn DS9 into a space
war series, and to have the starship Voyager get
it's butt kicked every week. This is Star Trek - we
need heroes to boldly go 'out there'. This was the
idea for 'Enterprise'...then, guess what? The
Xindi - and ANOTHER space war! Look, when I want
that I'll pop in my 'Battlestar Galactica' dvds.
Make 'Star Trek' 'Star Trek' again - you have a
great cast...now give them great 'Star Trek'
stories! - Moondog-6
