STAR TREK - VOYAGER SEASON 1(1995)
Another Star Trek, and this time a Star Trek/Lost In Space
mix! With the first female captain to head a Star Trek series
(Captain Kathyrine Janeway[Kate Mulgrew]), this has an amazing
number of non-human crew members: A Vulcan(Lt. Tuvok[Tim Russ]},
a Telaxian(Neelix[Ethan Phillips]), an Ocampan(Kes[Jennifer
Lien]), a half Klingon half human(B'Elanna Torres[Roxann
Biggs-Dawson]), a Borg(7 of 9[Jeri Ryan]) starting with the
4th season, as well as having the first Native American
(Chakotay[Robert Beltran]) and a holographic doctor(The
Doctor[Robert Picardo])! The rest of the crew are rounded
out with Lt. Tom Paris(Robert Duncan McNeil) & Ensign Harry
Kim(Garrett Wang)!
EPISODE 1: CARETAKER(Jan. 16, 1995):
This starts out with a Maquis ship being chased into the
badlands by the Cardassians and disappearing! Captain
Janeway is tasked with the search and rescue mission!
However, things go terribly wrong and all people concerned
end up in the Delta Quadrant! Thus starts the long "Voyage
Home"!
In this, Paris becomes a Leiutenant and Chakotay a Commander!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Chakotay,
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, B'Elanna Torres, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Tom Paris, Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Neelix &
Kes!
Guest starring here is Mark Allen Shepherd(Morn) & Armin
Shimmerman(as Quark)!
After the travisty that was DS9, the series is a breath
of fresh air, and this first episode is actually pretty
good! A+
EPISODE 2: PARALLAX(Jan. 23, 1995):
B'Elanna gets her skirt all in a ruffle and puts another
crewman in sickbay with pretty severe injuries! This puts
Chakotay in a difficult position, trying to keep her from
being cortmartialed and keeping peace amounst the rest of
the crew! And Janeway is trying to fill in missing officers
with those who are left! This again causes some issues amoung
the crew.
And then there's the distortion in space that's making the
ship go in ciricles!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, The Doctor, Commander Chakotay, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim,
Neelix & Kes!
EPISODE 3: TIME AND AGAIN(Jan. 30, 1995):
Kes is having visions, with one particular one being
quite disturbing as a whole civilization gets obliterated!
Meanwhile, Paris is having flashes of the planet before
the distruction! Perhaps there's more going on here than
meets the eye! Suddenly Janeway and Paris end up on the
planet before the holocaust, and they have to find a way
back! And the crew on the Voyager are also trying to find
them!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Neelix, Kes, Commander Chakotay, B'Elanna Torres
& The Doctor!
EPISODE 4: PHAGE(Feb. 6, 1995):
The Voyager crew head to a planetoid that Neelix has told
them has a rich deposit of Dilitheum Crystals! While exploring
the caverns, Neelix meets up with what appears to be a being
that's skulking aroung there! When the crew beams back up
to the ship, Neelix is in great distress! Turns out that
his lungs had been removed!!
The first "I'm a doctor" statement here(a la Dr. McCoy):
"I'm a doctor, not decorator"!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Neelix, Ensign Harry Kim,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor, Kes, Lt. Tom Paris & Security
Chief Lt. Tuvok!
EPISODE 5: THE CLOUD(Feb. 13, 1995):
The crew are looking for another power source and it
seems to show up in the form of a nebula, which they
decide to investigate!
The first use of a holodeck is here!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna
Torres, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt.
Tom Paris, Neelix, Commander Chakotay, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Kes & The Doctor!
This is a great episode!!! A+
EPISODE 6: EYE OF THE NEEDLE(Feb. 20, 1995):
Harry Kim thinks he's found a wormhole, and the crew
immediately head there to investigate!! Turns out to
extremely small!! They send a very tiny probe through
and wind up using it to try to contact whoever/whatever's
on the other side! Unfortunately the only ship that they
are able to hail is Romulan!!
On the side, Kes is going to bat for the Doctor!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay, Security
Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor, Kes & Lt.
B'Elanna Torres!
Strangely, Neelix is not in this at all!! And this is
another very strong episode! A+
EPISODE 7: EX POST FACTO(Feb. 27, 1995):
Kim and Paris are on a planet to try to get help with
a problem with the ship when, according to the local
authorities, Paris has an affair with one of the scientist's
wife and Paris ends up killing him!
The Captain and Tuvok are hard pressed to prove his innocence!
The first mind-meld happens here, between Tuvok and Paris!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Kes, The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim, Neelix, Commander Chakotay &
Lt. B'Elanna Torres!
EPISODE 8: EMANATIONS(Mar. 13, 1995):
The crew discover what they believe is a new element
and when they go down to a planetoid to investigate,
they find many apparently dead humanoids! This is all
about the sanctity of the dead and the prime directive -
and the afterlife!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry
Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Commander
Chakotay, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, The Doctor, Kes & Lt. Tom
Paris!
Again, no Neelix!
Not a fan of this! C
EPISODE 9: PRIME FACTORS(Mar. 20, 1995):
The ship intercepts a distress signal, but then when
they find the source, the commander of the ship that
sent it out say that The Voyager is the one that is
in distress! Turns out that the people of the ship
come from a planet known for their hospitality, and
they invite the crew to come to their planet and enjoy
some R & R!
The people are much more than they appear, and have
technology that Voyager desperately can use to get
back home! This all boils down to the planet's
Cannon of Laws, which is a play on the Federation's
own Prime Directive!!
This ends up pitting half the crew against the rest!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna
Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Commander Chakotay,
Neelix & Kes!
No Doctor in this one! A
EPISODE 10: STATE OF FLUX(Apr. 10, 1995):
While searching for alternate sources of food on
a planet, the crew runs into the Kazon! Eventually
Voyager is hailed to help out the Kazon ship that
they encounterded, only to wind up in extreme
danger themselves!
This exposes a traitor aboard the Voyager! The two
main suspects: Ensign Seska and Lt. Carey!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix,
Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor & Kes! A
EPISODE 11: HEROES AND DEMONS(Apr. 24, 1995):
Harry Kim has disappeared while in a holosuite program
based on Beowulf and the holosuite has malfunctioned!
This creates some really dangerous situations for those
that come in to find out what's going wrong here! It all
has to do with discovering a new life form!
The Doctor chooses a name for this episode: Dr. Schweitzer!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna
Torres, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt.
Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor,
Kes & Ensign Harry Kim!
No Neelix!
Another great episode! A+
EPISODE 12: CATHEXIS(May 01, 1995):
Another holosuite program, this one with the Captain
in an 18th century setting where she's a governess for
two children!
Meanwhile, there's been an accident wherein Chakotay and
Tuvok have been injurred, with Chakotay brain dead!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok,
Lt. Tom Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Kes, Neelix & Commander
Chakotay! A
EPISODE 13: FACES(May 08, 1995):
Torres has been kidnapped, along with Paris and another
crewmember to be killed later(LOL)! The reason, to find
a cure for the Phage!! To do this, they split B'Elanna
into two halves, one all human, one completely Klingon!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, Security
Chief Lt. Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor
& Kes!
I have never cared for the episodes about the Phage and
organ harvesting, this one does not change that oppinion! B
EPISODE 14: JETREL(May 15, 1995):
Jetrel is a doctor that was the cause of the mass murder
of Nelix's people! He has tracked down Nelix to tell him
that he has a fatal illness that he wants to find a cure
for!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, Lt. Tom
Paris, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay, Kes, The Doctor & Lt.
B'Elanna Torres!
This is a statement on the atom bomb!! A
EPISODE 15: LEARNING CURVE(May 22, 1995):
This starts out with Janeway in the holosuite, doing her
Jane Ayer-ish program when it malfuntions!! It appears a
crewmember had been working on part of the ship without
autorization when it interupted several systems on the
ship. Tuvok discovers this and the crewman, a Maquis member,
is quite cross with Tuvok! This starts an all-out war between
some of the Maquis members and Tuvok!
On the side, there's an infection in some of the circuitry
and it looks like it may be Neelix's fault!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt.
B'Elanna Torres, Kes, The Doctor, Ensign Harry Kim, Neelix
& Lt. Tom Paris!

From an IMDb.com customer:
Voyager started off on shaky ground, but gradually
levelled off into a good scifi show. It took TNG
forever to find its unique niche and identity, and
so it is for Voyager. It can be compared to the
original Star Trek, in its go-where-no-one-has-gone-before
identity.
Humor and drama, action and sometimes even horror
are well-balanced in Voyager, the characters started
off slightly odd but eventually became edgy but fast
friends with each other. Even Neelix, the Talaxian
who often looks as if he's wearing rejects from Quark's
wardrobe, has become a far more palatable and even
likable character.
If Neelix can make me laugh, then Voyager has its
niche. :) - ffordegroupie
