STAR TREK - VOYAGER SEASON 2 PAGE

STAR TREK - VOYAGER SEASON 2(1995-96)

Another Star Trek, and this time a Star Trek/Lost In Space
mix! With the first female captain to head a Star Trek series
(Captain Kathyrine Janeway[Kate Mulgrew]), this has an amazing
number of non-human crew members: A Vulcan(Lt. Tuvok[Tim Russ]},
a Telaxian(Neelix[Ethan Phillips]), an Ocampan(Kes[Jennifer
Lien]), a half Klingon half human(B'Elanna Torres[Roxann
Biggs-Dawson]), a Borg(7 of 9[Jeri Ryan]) starting with the
4th season, as well as having the first Native American
(Chakotay[Robert Beltran]) and a holographic doctor(The
Doctor[Robert Picardo])! The rest of the crew are rounded
out with Lt. Tom Paris(Robert Duncan McNeil) & Ensign Harry
Kim(Garrett Wang)!

EPISODE 1: THE 37'S(Aug. 28, 1995):

Welp, it took four series to do it, but they finally ran
into traffic in space!!! While on their merry way, the creaw
runs across an old automobile - IN SPACE!!!

Obviously a deeper story here, but that's pretty funny!

What the car leads the crew to is a group of missing people
who include Emelia Earhart - all in cryogenic chambers!!

This is the first time in any incarnation of Star Trek that
the whole ship is landed on a planet!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay,
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Kes, The Doctor
& Neelix!! A

EPISODE 2: INITIATIONS(Sept. 04, 1995):

While searching for his animal guide in a shuttle craft,
Chakotay is captured by the Kazon! OK, really a Kazon boy!
The boy is determined to prove his worth to the rest of
his people and makes life difficult for Chakotay! Things
don't go his way, and he gets saved by Chakotay! Unfortunately,
the Kazon are very much like the Klingons, in that they'd
rather die in combat than be "saved"! The Kazon capture
Chakotay and the boy gets less than a pleasant welcome!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Neelix, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The
Doctor & Kes!

Guest starring here is Aron Eisenberg! A

EPISODE 3: PROJECTIONS(Sept. 11, 1995):

The Doctor gets activated and discovers no one on board
the Voyager!! This is a test, this is only a test!

This episode has, in order of appearance: The Doctor,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Neelix,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay,
Kes & Security Chief Lt. Tuvok!

Barklay! A-

EPISODE 4: ELOGIUM(Sept. 18, 1995):

People on the ship are starting to act really weird, making
out with each other, getting angry for no reason and eating
things that had not eat!! It's all tied to a new life form
that they've discovered, without realizing the complications
that's being felt! The most affected by all this is Kes!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Lt. Tom Paris, Kes, Neelix, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign
Harry Kim, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres &
The Doctor!

EPISODE 5: NON SEQUITUR(Sept. 25, 1995):

Ensign Kim wakes up in San Fransisco! In the present! With
all the memories intact of his time on Voyager! Hmmmmmmmmm!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim,
Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
Commander Chakotay & Security Chief Lt. Tuvok

No Neelix, Kes or The Doctor! A

EPISODE 6: TWISTED(Oct. 02, 1995):

This starts out with a birthday party for Kes in the holodeck,
and winds up with a space anomole affecting several systems on
the ship! Oh, and the whole party that was at the party are
lost!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Kes, Neelix,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor, Ensign
Harry Kim, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres &
Commander Chakotay!

"I am a doctor, not a bartender" here!! A

EPISODE 7: PARTURITION(Oct. 16, 1995):

Kes is learning to fly with the help of Paris! This of
course sets of Neelix's jealousy again!! And of course
Tom's not helping things out by thinking that he loves
Kes!

In the meantime, the ship is in need of food, and they
head to a planet nicknamed "Planet Hell", to see if
they can find something to help them there! To find out
an away team of Paris & Neelix!!! LOL!

"I am a doctor, not a voyeur" here!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Kes, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Ensign
Harry Kim, The Doctor, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Neelix & Security
Chief Lt. Tuvok!

EPISODE 8: PERSISTANCE OF VISION(Oct. 30, 1995):

Janeway is having troubles with being pulled every which
way but loose! The Doctor orders her to take a break, in
the holodeck! She returns to her story about her being
a governess, where she finds that her master is having
thoughts of love with her! Soon, she's having halucinations
about things and people in her story on the ship! Soon
everyone on the ship is having halucinations!

This appears to be tied to some new aquintences that
the ship is making contact with to try to go through
their part of space! Soon it comes down to The Doctor
Kes!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Neelix, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, The
Doctor, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander
Chakotay & Kes! A

EPISODE 9: TATTOO(Nov. 06, 1995):

Again, while looking for alternate fuel sources, Chakotay
and group comes across a symbol that takes him back to his
youth!! This becomes an integral part of the episode!

In a discussion with his father, young Chakotay mentions a
certain Captain Sulu!!!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Neelix, The
Doctor, Kes, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim & Lt.
Tom Paris!

Hanry Darrow(Zorro[1990], Santa Barbara, Harry O, The High
Chaperral, Maverick[movie]) guest stars as young Chakotay's
father!

Another excellant episode! A+

EPISODE 10: COLD FIRE(Nov. 13, 1995):

The ship comes across the female caretaker, who blames
them for his death! And the crew gets a less-than-friendly
reception!!

One thing leads to another, and the Okompa that seems to
be the head dude on the space station that the ship encounters
starts training Kes in the ways of the Okampa. Shortly
he begins to try to persuade Kes to join them on the station,
which, of course, gets Neelix up in arms!

The biggest problem is that Kes is just too young to handle
all of the new information being given her!

This episode has a strange familiararity to it, such as
the TOS episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before"!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Kes, The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt.
B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander
Chakotay & Neelix! A

EPISODE 11: MANEUVERS(Nov. 20, 1995):

Another episode about the Kazons! After intercepting a
distress signal wherein the Voyager goes to find out
what's going on, they get attacked by the Kazon! They
have been getting help - from Voyagers ex-crewmember,
Seska!!

Chakotay takes this all very personally and plans to
rectify the situation himself!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt.
Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, Ensign Harry Kim, Neelix, The Doctor &
Kes!

This really has a stupid ending!!! A-

EPISODE 12: RESISTANCE(Nov. 27, 1995):

While on a planet searching for something to re-charge
the warp engines on their ship, several members of the
Voyager are either injurred or captured as spies! The
Captain is the injurred, and she has been taken in by
a man who's not entirely all there(Grey)!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Neelix, Security Chief Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim,
Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris & Lt. B'Elanna Torres!

No Doctor or Kes!!

Guest starring here is Joel Grey(Caberet) who does a
great job here! A

EPISODE 13: PROTOTYPE(Jan. 24, 1996):

The crew find Data! Ok, not really, but a robot that
appears to be broken! Torres seems almost obsessed with
reviving it! After successfully reviving the robot, he
asks her to make another like himself! This becomes a
hot topic that appears to go against the prime directive!
This does not set well with Torres! The robot also doesn't
take this decision well, and he kidnaps Torres once they
meet up with his ship!

A kind of I'm a doctor here, the Doctor says "I'm a doctor"
and Torres finishes with "not an engineer"!

Another similarity to TOS, the episode "Let That Be Your
Last Battlefield"!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry
Kim, Neelix, The Doctor, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay &
Kes! A

EPISODE 14: ALLIANCES(Jan. 22, 1996):

The Voyager is under attack from the Kazon, and they do
much damage to life and ship! This prompts Chakotay to
approach the captain about a change of tactics while
in the Delta Quadrant! A move away from Starfleet and
the Prime Directive! They decide to form and alliance
with Seska and the Maje the she's with!

Meanwhile, Neelix is trying to use his contacts to persue
an alliance with another sect when he gets captured by the
Kazon there, and instead he forms an alliance with another
group called the Trabe, a group that originally subjegated
the Kazon and now are being chased and killed off by them!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris,
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor,
Kes & Neelix! A

EPISODE 15: THRESHOLD(Jan. 29, 1996):

So, Paris, Torres and Kim are working on a way to break
the unattainable warp 10! Tom is all set to do a test run
when Janeway informs him that the Doctor has said that Kim
should do the test, and this doesn't set well on Paris and
talks the captain into letting him do the test! But the
affect on Paris is very detrimental to him!

This devolves pretty quickly into an almost horror show,
and it's not good! In fact this goes into the absurd!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, Neelix, Captain
Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Tuvok,
The Doctor & Kes! C-

EPISODE 16: MELD(Feb. 05, 1996):

There's a murder on the Voyager! All signs point to a
crewman name Sudar, and Tuvok decides to have a mind
meld with him to try to find out why he did it! While
this seems to help Sudar to mellow out, Tuvok, on the
other hand, seems to be loosing control of himself!

Meanwhile, Paris is running a gambling gig and he gets
busted by Chakotay, who puts him on report! Paris really
seems to have changed since the last episode!

And this is just about as stupid as the last one!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim,
Lt. Tom Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Neelix, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Commander
Chakotay & Kes! C-

EPISODE 17: DREADNOUGHT(Feb. 12, 1996):

This is interesting, if not hard to believe! The Voyager
crew happen upon a ship that's been destroyed! Trying to
find out the cause, Torres and Chakotay discover that the
weapon used was one that was Cardassian, and Torres got
to it and re-programmed it to become, well, a dreadnought!

Paris continues his unusual behavior here!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Kes, The Doctor,
Lt. Tom Paris, Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Lt. B'Elanna
Torres & Neelix!

After the last two episodes, this is a much better one
and a breath of fresh air! A

EPISODE 18: DEATH WISH(Feb. 19, 1996):

Q vs. Q here! The Voyager runs into a rouge "comet" that
in reality is a prison for the Q continuum! They break out
one of the Qs who wants to kill himself by accident, and
this ends up a tug-o-war between him and the John DeLancie
Q! It comes down to a hearing to decide the Qs request for
asylum!

This deals with the right to die issue one I don't need
crammed down my throat!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim,
Neelix, Kes, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris & The
Doctor!

Guest starring here is John deLancie as Q! Also here is
is Jonathan Frakes as William Riker! D

EPISODE 19: LIFESIGNS(Feb. 26, 1996):

Voyager come upon a ship with one passanger that is dying!
She has the phage! The Doctor cannot save her body, so he
creates a holographic body to put her intelligence into!
It turns out that B'Elanna is the only person on board the
ship that can help, but she's resistant after what happened
to her with the Vidiians!!

The woman here comes up with a name of Shmullus for the
doctor for this episode! And he thinks that he's falling
in love with her!!

And Tom really goes over the edge in this one!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Kes, The Doctor,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres & Neelix!

One of the greatest songs ever by one of the greatest groups
ever is played here, "My Prayer" by The Platters!! B+

EPISODE 20: INVESTIGATIONS(Mar. 13, 1996):

This has a lot going on here: Neelix starts a daily video
show called "A Briefing With Neelix"; Tom Paris decides he
doesn't fit in with the crew anymore, and he takes off with
some Talaxians, only to be promptly captured by the Kazon;
and the traitor comes to light!

"I'm a doctor, not a performer" here!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, The Doctor,
Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief
Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Lt. Commander
Chakotay & Kes! A

EPISODE 21: DEADLOCK(Mar. 18, 1996):

The Voyager is under attack, from sources unknown! This leads
to many casulties, including The Doctor! Then, suddenly, all
is well! There's obviously some sort of spacial rift going
on here! It's all very gimmiky!

And on the side, it's a girl!

Oh, and everyone dies!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, The Doctor,
Kes, Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Ensign Harry Kim & Lt. B'Elanna
Torres! B-

EPISODE 22: INNOCENCE(Apr. 08, 1996):

Tuvok and a crewmember have crash landed on a moon, and
the crewmember dies, leaving Tuvok alone! OK, so maybe
not so alone, as he comes upon 3 children who are all
that's left of another ship that crashed on the same
moon! Seems to be a moon to stay away from!!!!

The kids tell of a boogie man(called a morrok) who has
stolen two others that had been with them, and Tuvok is
determined to find explanation to the whole matter!

Tuvok sings!!!!!!!

This is actually a very touching episode!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Security
Chief Lt. Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, The Doctor, Kes, Lt. Tom Paris, Ensign Harry
Kim, Lt. B'Elanna Torres & Neelix! A+

EPISODE 23: THE THAW(Apr. 29, 1996):

The Voyager is hailed by a planet that appears to have no
life on it due to an ice age!! Turns out that some of the
population is under artificial hibernation! An away team
goes to find out what's going on, find that there are
still three functioning, and in order to contact them
and bring them out of the stasis, Harry & B'Elana join
them in their dream world which is more like a nightmare!

Harry plays the clarinet here!

This is kind of a cross between the TOS episodes "Plato's
Stepchildren" & "The Changling"! And a not a great blending
at all!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim,
Lt. Tom Paris, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Neelix, Commander Chakotay, Kes, Lt. B'Elanna
Torres & The Doctor(Thomas Kopache),!

The guest stars a man who is probably not well known, but
has the distinction of having been on not only Voyager,
but also Enterprise, DS9, TNG & Babylon 5(Thomas Kopache)
as well as Carel Struycken(both TNG & Babylon 5)!! B

EPISODE 24: TUVIX(May 06, 1996):

Another questionable episode! Tuvok and Neelix are beamed
aboard the Voyager after an away mission, and there's an
accident which blends the two together into one body! This
of course puts Kes in a very strange position!

This is a direct opposite of the TOS episode "The Enimy
Within"!

Neelix sings and Harry plays the clarinet here!!!

I'm not sure what the writers were thinking when they wrote
this, but it started out great and devolved into a soap
opera! So unfortunate, as it could have been great!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, Security
Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Kes &
Lt. Tom Paris! B-

EPISODE 25: RESOLUTIONS(May 13, 1996):

This starts out like it had been started about twenty minutes
ago! The captain and commander wake up on a planet after being
in stasis! It appears that they have been infected by an
insect bite without a cure! They have decided to stay on the
planet which seems to block the virus! The crew of course is
taking this quite poorly!

Janeway and Chakotay get quite a bit closer in this!

Tuvok gets his first shot at being captain! And he decides to
go with the crew's conclusions to contact the Vidiians to see
if they have a cure to the virus!!

Kate Mulgrew shows her acting chops in this, while being
on the planet! She does quite well, and it reminiscent of
her stint on Mrs. Colombo!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, The Doctor, Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt.
Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Lt. Tom Paris, Kes, Neelix,
Ensign Harry Kim! A

EPISODE 26: BASICS PT. 1(May 20, 1996):

Mr. Suder is back in this, as well as Seska! Both
are really dumb characters! Also back is Chakotay's
father, one of the better characters in the series!
The episode has to do with Chakotay having to decide
whether to accept the child as his or not! This leads
the ship to another contact with the Kazon! And as far
a Mr. Suder, he makes a request to Tuvok to let him
help out the airponic crops to be able to increase
the output of their food!

The whole episode is based around the Kazon seizing
Voyager and stranding the crew on a desolute planet,
all except The Doctor, Tom Paris & Mr. Suder, who
are tasked with trying to re-take the ship!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt.
Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay, Neelix, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
The Doctor & Kes!

Continued next year! A

From an IMDb.com customer:

Voyager started off on shaky ground, but gradually
levelled off into a good scifi show. It took TNG
forever to find its unique niche and identity, and
so it is for Voyager. It can be compared to the
original Star Trek, in its go-where-no-one-has-gone-before
identity.

Humor and drama, action and sometimes even horror
are well-balanced in Voyager, the characters started
off slightly odd but eventually became edgy but fast
friends with each other. Even Neelix, the Talaxian
who often looks as if he's wearing rejects from Quark's
wardrobe, has become a far more palatable and even
likable character.

If Neelix can make me laugh, then Voyager has its
niche. :) - ffordegroupie
