STAR TREK - VOYAGER SEASON 4(1997-98)
All the regular cast members return for this fourth season,
with it being Jennifer Lien's final two episodes:)! An addition
here, in "Scorpion" Pt. 2 we get introduced to 7 of 9!
EPISODE 1: SCORPION PART 2(Sept. 03, 1997):
Continuing from the last episode, the Captain and crew have
forged an alliance with the Borg(stupid), Kes is having
visions of the new creature, 8472, and The Doctor is still
trying to repair Kim!
This introduces the worst character in all of Star Trek lore,
the Borg 7 of 9!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor, Kes, 7 Of 9, Ensign Harry
Kim & Neelix! F------
EPISODE 2: THE GIFT(Sept. 10, 1997):
The last episode for Kes! I hated that they cut her out
of the series just to add a stupid Borg to the ship! This
was where I quit watching the series during it's initial
television run! It's going to be hard for me to continue,
but I'm determined to see this stupid series out!
Anyway, Kes is having difficulty with controlly her new
found abilities, and therefore "she" decides that for the
safety of the ship and crew, she should leave!
And 7 of 9 is very determined not to be unassimilated!
Some really stupid points here, why the Hell did they leave
all the Borg hive equipment active on the ship?!!
Most importantly here, Kes, as she's leaving the ship,
gives the crew a going away present!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, The Doctor, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Kes, Commander
Chakotay, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris &
Neelix! Z-------!
EPISODE 3: DAY OF HONOR(Sept. 17, 1997):
7 of 9 wants to make herself usefull and asks to be
assigned to engineering, which makes B'Elanna very
unhappy! And she's having issues with a Klingon tradition,
the "day of honor", that is upon her and she doesn't
want to observe it!
Also here: Voyager runs across a Contati ship that's
been damaged and is in need of help and asks the captain
if they can help them, which she, of course, agrees to!
This episode has, in order of appearance: 7 of 9, Commander
Chakotay, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Vorik, Lt. Tom Paris,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Neelix &
Ensign Harry Kim!
The Doctor is not in this at all!! B
EPISODE 4: NEMISIS(Sept. 24, 1997):
Chakotay crashes on a planet and is immideately captured!
He is let go right away, but find himself in the middle of
a civil war of sorts!
Meanwhile, back on the Voyager, the crew are being helped by
the very people that the group Chakotay winds up with are
fighting against! How will this turn out?!
I read a lot of reviews on this, and I disagree with the way
they all were distracted by the talk of the locals on the
planet! In fact, I found it quite fitting for the episode!
This is basically a war story, and I am not a fan of war
TV or Movies! But I believe this on is a comment against
war, and has some redeeming qualities! And the ending is
quite - interesting!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign
Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Neelix &
The Doctor! A(this may very well be the last A grade I
give, as it's the last one without 7 of 9!!)
EPISODE 5: REVULSION(Oct. 01, 1997):
Voyager intercepts a distress call from a - hologram!
The Doctor and B'Elanna are assigned to find out what's
going on and offer assistance if possible! What they
don't know is that there is a lot more going on here
than just distressed ship!
Also going on is Harry is assigned to do some repairs
with 7 Of 9, and he is very nervous about it! The reason:
he's starting to have feelings for her!
One more thing, Tuvok gets promoted to Lt. Commander!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief
Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor,
Commander Chakotay, Neelix & 7 Of 9! B+
EPISODE 6: THE RAVEN(Oct. 08, 1997):
This digresses to a 7 of 9 story!!!! She decides that she
needs to go back to the Borg! Stupid, Stupid STUPID!!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, 7 Of 9, The Doctor, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander
Chakotay, Neelix, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok &
Ensign Harry Kim!
No Lt. B'Elanna Torres! D-
EPISODE 7: SCIENTIFIC METHOD(Oct. 29, 1997):
The captain's having headaches and acting on edge,
there's wierd flashing going off intermittantly,
Chakotay is suddenly experiencing accelerated aging
& Neelix is experiencing a sudden change to a whole
new race!!
Soon, the whole ship is being affected! Seven Of Nine to
the rescue!!
This is a comment on experimentation on the helpless to
find cures for others!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
7 Of 9, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok,
Ensign Harry Kim & Neelix! B+
EPISODE 8: YEAR OF HELL PART 1(Nov. 05, 1997):
The Voyager crew run into a group called the Krennam who
say that unless they go away, they will destroy them!
Turns out they have a weapon that uses time to destroy
their enemies!!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Seven Of Nine, Ensign Harry
Kim, Neelix, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security Chief Lt. Commander
Tuvok, The Doctor & Lt. Tom Paris!
Continued in the next episode! A
EPISODE 9: YEAR OF HELL PART 2(Nov. 12, 1997):
Continued from the previous episode!
The group is still trying to figure out how to straighten
out the time paradox going on here! Voyager is deeply
damaged, the culprit has Chakotay and Paris, and they
are having difficulties working together! Chaokotay thinks
he can solve all the problems by working with Annorax,
while Paris is sure that he is mad and needs to be stopped
right away! And the whole thing has to do with him wanting
to get his wife back!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris, Neelix, Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok & Seven Of Nine! A
EPISODE 10: RANDOM THOUGHTS(Nov. 19, 1997):
Voyager comes upon a planet where they spend a little
shore leave as well as pick up some supplies! The inhabitants
are all telepethetic and there's been no crime for years,
until now!! This all comes down to the crew on Voyager!!
Very reminiscent of the TNG episode "Justice" in which Wesley
Crusher, while playing football with the native younguns,
accidently falls into a bunch of flowers, and he's promptly
sentenced to death!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Neelix, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security
Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay,
Seven Of Nine & The Doctor!
Have I mentioned lately how much I HATE the Borg and Seven
Of Nine! B+
EPISODE 11: CONCERNING FLIGHT(Nov. 26, 1997):
Leonardo deVinci returns for another episode! This one
is quite good!! Someone has stolen a bunch of technilogical
items from Voyager, including Leonardo! And the main culprit
for the thefts has hired him for purposes unknown!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris, Ensign Harry Kim,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The
Doctor, Seven Of Nine & Neelix(seen but not heard)!
And the great John Rhys-Davies is back again!
Several flaws here, not the least of which is that Janeway
has the opportunity, TWICE, to beam the culprit up to the
ship and change intirely the balance of power! But even
with the flaws, this is a great episode!! A+
EPISODE 12: MORTAL COIL(Dec. 17, 1997):
Neelix is Godfather to the first child born on Voyager and
he appears to be the only one that can get her to sleep!
Secondly, Neelix joins an away team to try to gather some
"protomater" and while they are gathing it, Neelix gets
killed! Seven Of Nine to the rescue!
But when Neeliix returns, he's not quite himself! That's
because he thinks that he learns that the "Beyond" that
his race believes in doesn't appear to exist! And Chakotay
is the one who helps him out here!
This is a commentary on the existance of God and the after
life!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, Ensign Harry
Kim, Commander Chakotay, Seven Of Nine, Lt. Tom Paris,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, The Doctor, Security Chief Lt. Commander
Tuvok, & Lt. B'Elanna Torres! B+
EPISODE 13: WAKING MOMENTS(Jan. 14, 1998):
Seems that the whole crew is experiencing nightmares! At
the same time! And they all have one thing in common,
they all see the same alien in their dreams! Chakotay
to the rescue!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Seven Of Nine,
Ensign Harry Kim, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Captain
Kathryn Janeway, Lt. Tom Paris, Neelix, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
Commander Chakotay & The Doctor! A-
EPISODE 14: MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE(Jan. 21, 1998):
Seven of Nine has found a way to contact a ship in the
Alpha Quadrant! Or at least it seems like it! There seems
to be a glitch, and it also seems that the only answer is
to send The Doctor to the other ship! When he gets there
he finds the ship has been under attack, and all hands are
either dead or severly injured, from the Romulans!
"I'm a doctor not a commando" here, by the other EMH!
This is a piece of fluff with a little bit of seriousness
thrown in!
Also, from Tom, "I'm a pilot, Harry, not a doctor!"
This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna Torres
Commander Chakotay, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Seven Of Nine,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor, Neelix & Security
Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok(seen but not heard)!
Guest starring here is Andy Dick as the EMH on the ship
in the Alpha Quadrant! A
EPISODE 15: HUNTERS(Feb. 11, 1998):
Voyager recieves a broken up message from Starfleet and
discover that it was relayed through the same relay
stations that The Doctor used to get to the Alpha
Quadrant! The species that are the owners of the relays
are not happy with Janeway and crew, and make it a point
to stop them from using it any more!
The crew gets messages from their friends and family back
home, and not all of it is good news!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, The Doctor, Seven Of Nine,
Neelix & Lt. B'Elanna Torres!
This is continued in the next episode! A
EPISODE 16: PREY(Feb. 18, 1998):
Continued from last episode, kind of! This has the
same beings from the last episode, and they are out
after Voyager and its crew for what happened in the
previous episode!
The crew comes upon a disabled ship of the beings and
find an injured dude and bring him aboard to try to
help him! while doing so, they get attacked by another
being that happened to be the prey that the others
were hunting! This gets the crew into a great deal of
trouble!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Seven Of Nine,
The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. B'Elanna Torres & Neelix!
And I still hate the Borg, and Seven Of Nine! B-
EPISODE 17: RETROSPECT(Feb. 25, 1998):
Another stupid story involving Seven Of Nine! While "helping"
a new race intall some new weapons on Voyger, the dude who's
both the seller and the installer rubs Seven the wrong way
and she attacks him! This of course raises more problems
between Seven and Janeway!
It appears that the gentleman in question has violated her
without her knowing it and then repressed any memory of it!
More Borg shit!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. Tom Paris,
Commander Chakotay, Seven Of Nine, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
The Doctor, Ensign Harry Kim
Neelix is not in this! B
EPISODE 18: THE KILLING GAME PART I(Mar. 04, 1998):
This start out really weird! The race from the episodes
"Hunters" and "Prey" are back, and fighting a Klingon!
After the Klingon is defeated, the dude calls to sickbay
and says "Janeway requires medical assistance"!??
And the episode gets stranger and stranger as the next
scene shows scene right out of WWII!
The Hirogens have taken over Voyager(no explanation on
how) and keep running different holodeck programs for
their hunting pleasure!
Jeri Ryan sings in this!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Seven Of Nine, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok,
Neelix, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor, Ensign Harry Kim
Lt. Tom Paris, & Commander Chakotay! B
EPISODE 19: THE KILLING GAME PART II(Mar. 04, 1998):
Continued from the previous episode!
With the holodecks in shambles, the Hirogens now have a
real war on their hands, from the participants of the
WW II simulation!
By the way, there is in this, and the previous episode,
quite a bit of nudity(in the form of paintings hanging
the bar)!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Seven Of Nine, Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, Lt.
B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor & Neelix!
I'm no a fan of war movies/TV and this is just waaaay too
much war for my liking! B
EPISODE 20: VIS A VIS(Apr. 01, 1998):
Voyager happens upon another new race whose ship is in
distress! Said ship has technology that is only theory
to Starfleet! Turns out that the dude is capable of
changing places with others, and he chooses Tom to
be the new host to him! Meanwhile, Tom is now in the
other dudes body and charged with several crimes!
This is actually quite fun!
This episode has, in order of appearance: The Doctor,
Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim,
Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Neelix & Seven Of Nine!
Dick Dale's songs, "Night Rider" and "Let's Go Trippin'"
are heard while Tom(and B'Elanna) are in his "garage"! A
EPISODE 21: THE OMEGA DIRECTIVE(Apr. 15, 1998):
Voyager encounters a particle that has the possibity
to destroy subspace and halting all warp capabilities!
and because of Starfleet protocol Janeway can't discuss
this with any of the crew! Of course, this doesn't include
Seven Of Nine, as she already knows all about the directive!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Seven Of Nine,
Ensign Harry Kim, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt.
Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor & Neelix! A
EPISODE 22: UNFORGETTABLE(Apr. 22, 1998):
This one has Voyager caught between two warring ships!
One of them gets destroyed, and the other hails Voyager
for help, specifically, Chakotay! He has no memory of the
woman hailing him, and it turns out that she's from a race
that once they leave, the people that they've come in contact
forget about them within a few hours, or at least that's
what the woman tells everyone! She says she's running from
those that would capture her and take her back to her home
planet, and she doesn't want to go back!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim,
Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Seven Of Nine, The Doctor &
Neelix!
No Lt. B'Elanna Torres!
This is directed by Andrew Robinson(DS9's just plain Garak!! A-
EPISODE 23: LIVING WITNESS(Apr. 29, 1998):
This starts 700 years in the future where, in the history
of a particular planet, Voyager and it's crew are remembered
as war-like, and very unlikeable!! The only one to help set
the record straight is the good Doctor!!
A much better episode than the last few!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Neelix, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris,
Commander Chakotay, The Doctor, Ensign Harry Kim, & Seven
Of Nine!
Again, no Lt. B'Elanna Torres!
And this one's directed by Tim Russ! A
EPISODE 24: DEMON(May 06, 1998):
Voyager is dangerously low an feul, and Harry has a plan
to be able to mine some deuterium from a planet near by!
He and Paris take a shuttle craft to the surface and Harry
has an accident and his suit is compromised, then the same
thing happens to Tom! Soon, they run out of oxygen!
Meanwhile, back on Voyager, because of the lack of power,
the ship is in brown out mode, and living conditions are
getting dicy!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. Tom Paris, Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok, Neelix, Commander Chakotay, Seven Of Nine,
The Doctor & Lt. B'Elanna Torres!
And another "guest" director here, Anson Williams(Happy Days)! A
EPISODE 25: ONE(May 13, 1998):
Another stupid Seven Of Nine episode!! The ship encounters a
Mutara nebula that is deadly to the human crew! To go around it
would mean an additional year to their trip! Therefore the
answer is to put the entire crew in suspended animation,
except for the Doctor and Seven Of Nine! So for a month
the two pilot the ship through the nebula, not always
smoothly!!
Not nearly as bad as it could have been, the ending helps
it a lot!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Seven Of Nine,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, The Doctor, Captain
Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt.
Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay & Neelix! A-
EPISODE 26: HOPE AND FEAR(May 20, 1998):
With the help of a passenger that Tom and Harry picked up
Janeway finally decodes the message from Starfleet that
they received several months back! With the new information
they are directed to another ship that suddenly comes to
life with Paris, Tuvok and Chakotay aboard! After getting
the ship under control, the crew start to analyze it to
make sure that all is copesetic! And of course, as usual,
nothing goes as planed!
And of course this brings up bad feelings from Seven!
But this is a pretty good episode!
This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Seven Of Nine, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris,
Neelix, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim,
The Doctor & Lt. B'Elanna Torres! A-

From an IMDb.com customer:
Voyager started off on shaky ground, but gradually
levelled off into a good scifi show. It took TNG
forever to find its unique niche and identity, and
so it is for Voyager. It can be compared to the
original Star Trek, in its go-where-no-one-has-gone-before
identity.
Humor and drama, action and sometimes even horror
are well-balanced in Voyager, the characters started
off slightly odd but eventually became edgy but fast
friends with each other. Even Neelix, the Talaxian
who often looks as if he's wearing rejects from Quark's
wardrobe, has become a far more palatable and even
likable character.
If Neelix can make me laugh, then Voyager has its
niche. :) - ffordegroupie
