STAR TREK - VOYAGER SEASON 5 PAGE

STAR TREK - VOYAGER SEASON 5(1998-99)

All the regular cast members return for this fifth season!

EPISODE 1: NIGHT(Oct. 14, 1998):

The ship has gone into a vast void that will take two
years to circumnavigate! Everyone is on edge, as there's
just plain nothing to do, and that includes the captain!
She's blaming herself for having to go through the void
and putting the crew in a bad mood!

And then suddenly, the ship looses all power with no warning!

Kim "plays" the clarinette!

A good way to start the fifth season!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry
Kim, Lt. Tom Paris, The Doctor, Commander Chakotay, 7 Of 9,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Neelix, Captain
Kathryn Janeway! A

EPISODE 2: DRONE(Oct. 21, 1998):

Ohh, goody, more Borg shit! Have I mentioned lately
that I HATE THE BORG!!!!!!!!

While watching the creation of a new nebula, the Doctor's
mobile emitter is damaged, and while having it scanned by
the computer, it creates it's own haven in the science lab
and, well, there be baby Borg!

A McCoyism, "I'm a doctor, not a peeping Tom"!! This is
actually the second time the Doctor has said this!

This episode has, in order of appearance: The Doctor,
7 of 9, Lt. Tom Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry
Kim, Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Captain Kathryn Janeway,
Commander Chakotay & Neelix! C+!

EPISODE 3: EXTREME RISK(Oct. 28, 1998):

B'Elanna is definitely not herself, which is to say she
is actually overly more of herself! Seems she's trying to
get herself killed! And the crew is trying to find a way
to retrieve a probe that's stuck in the atmosphere of a
nearby planet by building a new fangled runabout!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. B'Elanna
Torres, 7 of 9, Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay,
Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok, Neelix & The Doctor!! A

EPISODE 4: IN THE FLESH(Nov. 04, 1998):

Voyager comes across a kind of space station that is
also a large holo-program which looks just like Starfleet
Command! The place is actually run by Species 8472 and
they're preparing for an attack on Earth!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Security Chief Lt. Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, The Doctor, 7 of 9, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. B'Elanna
Torres & Neelix!

One of the most Roddenberry type episodes in a long time!

This guest stars the always great Ray Walston(My Favorite
Martian)!! A

EPISODE 5: ONCE UPON A TIME(Nov. 11, 1998):

A story mainly based around the little girl Naomi Wildman,
whose mother, Samantha, is on an away mission with Tuvok and
Paris! They are in big trouble from ion that keeps pummeling
their shuttle craft! Nelix is in charge of keeping the little
girl occupied til they can find a way to get the shuttle, and
her mother, Tuvok and Paris back to the ship!

This brings memories of his killed family to the head!

Another Roddenberry-esque episode!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, Security
Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt. Tom Paris, Commander Chakotay,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim,
7 Of 9 & The Doctor! A

EPISODE 6: TIMELESS(Nov. 18, 1998):

There's been an accident and Harry and Chakotay are
sent down to a planet to find out what happened to
The Voyager, which is buried on the planet and frozen
in ice!!

Another really good episode!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Neelix,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, 7 Of
9 & Lt. Tom Paris!

Guest starring LaVar Burton as Captain Geordi LaForge! A

EPISODE 7: INFINITE REGRESS(Nov. 25, 1998):

Another stupid 7 of 9 episode, who just doesn't seem
to be herself!

This episode has, in order of appearance: 7 Of 9, Ensign
Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway,Commander Chakotay,
Neelix, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security Chief Lt. Commander
Tuvok, The Doctor & Lt. Tom Paris! C

EPISODE 8: NOTHING HUMAN(Dec. 02, 1998):

The ship comes upon a damaged ship, and when they beam
what appears to be the only survivor to sick bay, it
attaches itself to B'Elanna symbiotically! This goes
beyond the Doctor's knowledge and he needs some help.
They create a holographic image of a Cardassian surgeon
who has knowledge that can help, but B'Elanna, once she
finds out who this new doctor is, refuses his help due
to his tests on Bjorans that died in his "care"!

This episode has, in order of appearance: The Doctor,
Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,
Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok, Neelix & Seven Of Nine! B-

EPISODE 9: THIRTY DAYS(Dec. 09, 1998):

This one is about Tom Paris and how he went from
Leutenant to Ensign and being in the brig for 30
days!

This all has to do with an underwater civilization
on a totally water world, and the Voyager crew trying
to help out the known inhabitants to stop said world
from its course of self distruction!

So he decides to write his father to tell him
exactly how he ended up there, which entails a
trip to the holo-suite and another adventure with
Captain Proton!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Lt.(Ensign) Tom Paris, Neelix, Ensign Harry Kim,
Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok,
Seven Of Nine, The Doctor & Lt. B'Elanna Torres! B

EPISODE 10: COUNTERPOINT(Dec. 16, 1998):

HUH!

Voyager has entered into the space of a very strict
species who don't trust telepaths, as in Tuvok! They
routinely intercept Voyager to makae sure that they
obey all of there rule, including no telepaths!! To
get around this, the crew has come up with a way to
hide all of the telepathic people! Only problem is
the more they use this ability, the more the possibility
of degregation, and death!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Seven Of Nine,
Ensign Tom Paris, The Doctor, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Security
Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok & Neelix! A

EPISODE 11: LATENT IMAGE(Jan. 21, 1999):

The Doctor is having memory problems! Seems that he's discovered
a discrepency in his programming where he seems to have done an
operation on Ensign Kim that he has no memory of!! And it seems
someone is doing their best to keep him from remembering!!

This is actually a great episode!

This episode has, in order of appearance: The Doctor, Ensign
Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Seven Of Nine, Lt.(Ensign?)
Tom Paris, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Commander Chakotay,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres & Neelix! A

EPISODE 12: BRIDE OF CHAOTICA(Jan. 27, 1999):

Another episode of Capain Proton! And in this one, while role
playing in their favorite hero stories, Tom and Harry wind up
in real peril when the program encounters a glitch caused when
the Voyager encounters a subspace distortion field which threatens
the entire ship!

Seems that there are interdimentional beings that all they want
to do is have a first contact with a new species!

This is again a fun episode!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim, Lt.
(Ensign) Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Seven Of Nine, Lt. B'Elanna
Torres, Neelix & The Doctor! A

EPISODE 13: GRAVITY(Feb. 03, 1999):

This starts out with a young Tuvok and his first lessons
in logic! The reason for all of this comes out later in
the episode! Then it switches to a desolate planet on which
the Voyager shuttle, UNNAMED, crashes with Tuvok, Paris,
and the Doctor! Paris runs into a scavenger that appears
to be a native of the planet, and she promptly relieves
him of some of his gear! One thing leads to another and
the thief ands up working with the two to try to get
them off the planet! Oh, and the universal translator seems
to out of service!

And to make matters even worse, there's a time distortion
that makes every hour that the Voyager experiences is like
a month to our stranded crew! All of this was caused by a
temperol rift that an alien race is trying to close so
no one else gets trapped in it!

A McCoyism here: "I'm a doctor, not a battery"!!

This is very remincent of "The Galileo Seven" from the
TOS series!

Another really great episode!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, The Doctor, Lt. B'Elanna
Torres, Commander Chakotay, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Ensign
Harry Kim, Seven Of Nine & Neelix!! A

EPISODE 14: BLISS(Feb. 10, 1999):

The ship appears to have found a way home, AGAIN! A wormhole
has been discovered and it appears to lead straight home!
Everyone seems to be excited exepct Seven(which makes sense)!
She continues to find a reason that this whole thing is a ruse!

What is really bothering her is that everyone is recieving
letters from home that are extremely positive!

Naomi Wildman to the rescue!!!

The Doctor says "This is a sickbay, not an arsenal" &
"I'm a doctor, not a dragon slayer"!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok Commander
Chakotay, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Lt. Tom Paris, Seven Of Nine,
Ensign Harry Kim, Neelix & The Doctor!

Guest starring here is William Morgan Sheppard(Klingon captain
in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)! A

EPISODE 15: DARK FRONTIER PT. 1(Feb. 17, 1999):

ANOTHER FUCKING BORG EPISODE(actually two, as this is
part 1)!!!! Voyager meets up with a Borg ship and promptly
destroys it! Sound like a win scenario, right! WRONG!!
After the big boom, the crew discover a Borg scout ship
2 light years away and the captain decides to intercept
it to raid it of useful technoloty! Stupid idea!

This has flashbacks to Seven's parent's attempt to
contact and make friends with the Borg!

This whole mess pits Seven Of Nine against, well, just
about everyone!

The Borg Queen shows up in this, but not played by the
same actress as in the movie First Contact(Alice Kreig)!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Seven Of Nine, Security Chief
Lt. Commander Tuvok, Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Lt. Tom
Paris, Lt. B'Elanna Torres & Neelix!

This is continued in the next episode! However, they have
blended the two episodes together into one long episode! F-------

EPISODE 16: DARK FRONTIER PT. 2(Feb. 17, 1999):

More Borg shit!!!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Seven Of Nine,
The Doctor, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris,
Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. B'Elanna Torres & Neelix!

And I still hate the Borg, and Seven Of Nine! F-----------

EPISODE 17: THE DISEASE(Feb. 24, 1999):

Kim is forging a relationship with a crewmember on another
ship! Her species is very xenophobic, and this gets him into
A LOT of trouble!! And the ship that they're trying to help
apparently has infected Voyager with parasites that are eating
away at both ships!! Hence, "The Disease"!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Ensign Harry Kim,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres,Commander
Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok,
Seven Of Nine, The Doctor & Neelix! A-

EPISODE 18: COURSE: OBLIVION(Mar. 03, 1999):

It's the day we all knew was coming, Tom and B'Elanna
get married! The cerimony goes off without a hitch(pun
intended", but the aftermath creates a definte threat
to not only them, but the entire crew!!

This episode has tie-ins with a previous episode from
season 4, "Demon"!!

Ensign Kim "plays" "Heart And Soul", "The Wedding March" &
"Hear Comes The Bride" on the clarinet in this!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, The Doctor,
Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. Tom Paris, Seven
Of Nine, Commander Chakotay, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok &
Lt. B'Elanna Torres! A

EPISODE 19: THE FIGHT(Mar. 24, 1999):

Chekotay is in contact with an alien race telepathically
which started when he was boxing with another dude! The
importance of this is that the ship is in danger from a
space distortion that's breaking it apart and the aliens
that are the inhabitants can help them get out of trouble!

This is kind of a parallel of the Bermuda Triangle!!

The character of Chakotay is shown in this in a very bad
light, and this is pretty dumb over all!! And I'm not
a fan of boxing!!!!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Commander Chakotay,
The Doctor, Seven Of Nine, Lt. Tom Paris, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, Security
Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok & Neelix!

This guest stars Ray Walston again as Boothby! B

EPISODE 20: THINK TANK(Mar. 31, 1999):

It appears that Voyager has a price on its head! And
there is a civilization out to get the reward! While
trying to come up with a solution, a group, which includes
Jason Alexander's character, offers their help for a price:
quantum slipstream technology, Neelix's recipe for Chadre'kab,
an ancient Olmec figurine and Seven Of Nine!! I was REALLY
hoping they'd take them up on this!!(LOL)!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Seven Of Nine, Ensign Harry Kim, Lt. Tom Paris,
Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Commander Chakotay,
Neelix, The Doctor & Lt. B'Elanna Torres!

Guest starring here is Jason Alexander(Sinfeld)! A-

EPISODE 21: JUGGERNAUT(Apr. 26, 1999):

Some old "friends" show up and are in deep trouble!
They're the ones who are responsible for contaminating
large segments of space with their radioactive trash!
Their garbage scow ran into trouble and started contaminating
their ship, and it's threatening to blow up and contaminate
a huge part of the space that the Voyager is in!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Security Chief
Lt. Commander Tuvok, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Lt. Tom Paris,
Ensign Harry Kim, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay,
The Doctor, Neelix & Seven Of Nine! A

EPISODE 22: SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME(Apr. 28, 1999):

An incredibly "pure" and "spiritual" peoples are contacted
by Voyager in hopes of gathering badly needed minerals!
But one of the diplomates who is on Voyager to observe
gets rather smashed and makes a mess of the whole negotiations!

Meanwhile, Seven is doing a study on humans mating rituals
and it is suggested that she try out actually delving into
the dating scene herself!

Seven & The Doctor sing in this again!

There's a fairly large faux-pah here in that The Doctor
and Tom both intimate that they had no idea that Seven
had a good voice! In the episode "The Killing Game" from
season 4 Jeri sings several songs, all quite well done!

Even though Seven Of Nine is a prevelant part of this
episode, it's actually quite good! And The Doctor finds
himself romantically attracted to Seven!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Neelix, Seven Of Nine, Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, The Doctor,
Ensign Harry Kim & Commander Chakotay!! A+

EPISODE 23: 11:59(May 05, 1999):

All about Janeway's ancestors! She's been told a tale
about her ancestor as being the responsible party of
one of the greatest building feats of the 21st century!

Of course there's always one naysayer, and in this case
it comes in the form of Tom Paris!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Neelix, Captain
Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay, Seven Of Nine, Lt.
Tom Paris, Ensign Harry Kim, The Doctor, Security Chief
Lt. Tuvok & Lt. B'Elanna Torres! A

EPISODE 24: RELATIVITY(May 12, 1999):

Taking us back to the beginning, this starts out with
Janeway's first introduction to her new ship, the
Voyager! More here than meets the eye!!

This all has to do with time displacement and some sort
of time police that are trying to fix the problem and
some sort of device that has been planted on Voyager!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Seven Of Nine, The Doctor, Lt. Tom Paris, Neelix,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Ensign Harry Kim, Security Chief Lt.
Commander Tuvok & Commander Chakotay! A

EPISODE 25: WARHEAD(May 19, 1999):

This one's about The Doctor and he's just not himself
lately! That's because an alien weapon with artificial
intellegence has taken him over! Purpose: unknown!!

Huge flaw here, after the beinng that is the weapon,
the simple solution to the whole problem: pull off
the arm band!!!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Lt. Tom Paris,
Neelix, Ensign Harry Kim, Commander Chakotay, The Doctor,
Captain Kathryn Janeway, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Seven Of
Nine, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok! A

EPISODE 26: EQUINOX PT. 1(May 26, 1999):

Another distress signal, another Federation ship! Said
ship has been almost totally destroyed by an unknown
assailant! But the assailant has good reason to be attacking
them! Things go from dire to deadly very quickly,
as it seems that the crew of this said ship don't hold
to the ethics as the crew of the Voyager!

For the second episode in a row, the Doctor is not who
he seems to be, as he has been replaced by the EMH from
the other ship!

This episode has, in order of appearance: Captain Kathryn
Janeway, Seven Of Nine, Commander Chakotay, Lt. Tom Paris,
Ensign Harry Kim, Security Chief Lt. Commander Tuvok, Neelix,
Lt. B'Elanna Torres & The Doctor! B+

Continued next year!

From an IMDb.com customer:

Voyager started off on shaky ground, but gradually
levelled off into a good scifi show. It took TNG
forever to find its unique niche and identity, and
so it is for Voyager. It can be compared to the
original Star Trek, in its go-where-no-one-has-gone-before
identity.

Humor and drama, action and sometimes even horror
are well-balanced in Voyager, the characters started
off slightly odd but eventually became edgy but fast
friends with each other. Even Neelix, the Talaxian
who often looks as if he's wearing rejects from Quark's
wardrobe, has become a far more palatable and even
likable character.

If Neelix can make me laugh, then Voyager has its
niche. :) - ffordegroupie
