ARROW SEASON 1
From the pages of dc comics, this is basically based on
the comic The Green Arrow!! Oliver Queen was shipwrecked
on an island when the ship he was on with his father and
others was capsized and all were lost at sea except him!
This has absolutely nothing to do with the origins of The
Green Arrow! However, because this is actually titled
Arrow, losing the "The Green", it becomes its own entity!!
However, these all would have gotten As except for the
"Marvelization" of these stories, making Oliver have so
many personal problems that it becomes almost a soap
opera!! If not for this, these would probably all garner
an A+ from me!!
EPISODE # 1: PILOT(Oct. 10, 2012):
After being rescued from his island that he was stranded
on for several years, Oliver Queen is busy trying to put
his life back together!! There are many non sequiturs
here, but still a decent representation! A-
EPISODE # 2: HONOR THY FATHER(Oct. 17, 2012):
The list that Oliver got from his father includes a Chinese
triad mercenary!! This dude is out after Laurel, Oliver's
ex-girlfriend!! A-
EPISODE # 3: LONE GUNMEN(Oct. 24, 2012):
While confronting a property tycoon about his shady practices
he's shot by an unknown assailant!! This of course puts our
hero on the search for the guilty party!! This introduces the
character Dead Shot!! A
EPISODE # 4: AN INNOCENT MAN(Oct. 31, 2012):
While researching another target from his father's list
Oliver realizes that a man sentenced to death was actually
set up by his target!! He goes to Laurel to try to help him
save the innocent!! A
EPISODE # 5: DAMAGED(Nov. 7, 2012):
After the last episode, Laurel's father, police detective
Quentin Lance, finds video evidence implicating Oliver
as Arrow(which at this point he hasn't yet picked up
that moniker!)!! During one of Oliver's flashbacks, we
see Deathstroke as a torturer of Oliver's!! A
EPISODE # 6: LEGACIES(Nov. 14, 2012):
During a bank robbery, an off duty police officer is
killed!! Oliver seems disinterested 'til the dots connect
back to his father!! A
EPISODE # 7: MUSE OF FIRE(Nov. 28, 2012):
Oliver's mom almost gets killed by a drive-by shooter
who's real target is the guy she's talking with!! He
gets on the case right away!! A
EPISODE # 8: VENDETTA(Dec. 5, 2012):
Oliver's new friend is Hell bent on taking down her
father one way or another, with both ways ending in
a lot of death!! Oliver is Hell bent on making her his
partner!! Hmmmm, wonder what's going to happen!! A
EPISODE # 9: YEAR'S END(Dec. 12, 2012):
There's a copycat Arrow!! He's apparently after the
same people on The Arrow's list, but he's actually
out to kill!! Definitely not the same mo as Oliver!! A
EPISODE # 10: BURNED(Jan. 16, 2013):
This one has a new foe for The Arrow who appears
to love fire!! Also, while later that same day, Oliver's
step-dad is kidnapped by people associated with his
mother!! A
EPISODE # 11: TRUST BUT VERIFY(Jan. 23, 2013):
A former comrade of Diggle is on The Arrows list, but
Diggle is convinced that he's on the list by mistake!!
Oliver's sister, Thia, overhears a conversation by her
mom and Mr. Merlin and comes to a wrong right conclusion!!
This episode guest stars Ben Browder(Farscape, Stargate SG1)! A
EPISODE # 12: VERTIGO(Jan. 30, 2013):
At the end of the last episode, Oliver's sister Thia has
a car accident which is found to have been caused by
a drug called vertigo!! Turns out that the judge is Hell
bent on making an example of her!! This of course puts
The Arrow on the trail of where the drugs are coming
from!! A
EPISODE # 13: BETRAYAL(Feb. 6, 2013)
A dude gets out of jail early on a technicality and proceeds
to set his sights on The Arrow by going through Laural!!
Sub plots are more on how Oliver became the person he
is, and Oliver's mother's involvement in the shipwreck
and other nefarious activities!! A
EPISODE # 14: THE ODYSSEY(Feb. 13, 2013):
This has Oliver getting shot by his mother while she's
being interrogated by The Arrow early in the show and
he gets help from Felicity Smoak!! She, along with
Diggle, proceed to nurse him back to health! During
his coma, Oliver has many flashbacks to his time on
the island, showing more and more of how he became
the man he is now!! A
EPISODE # 15: DODGER(Feb. 20, 2013):
A dude called the Dodger is out stealing artifacts which
catches the attention of Oliver and crew, and they
proceed to hatch a plan to catch him, which of course
goes horribly wrong and puts Felicity in mortal danger!! A
EPISODE # 16: DEAD TO RIGHTS(Feb. 27, 2013):
Deadshot is back, and he's targeting Malcolm, thanks
to Oliver's mother!!!! A
EPISODE # 17: THE HUNTRESS RETURNS(Mar. 20, 2013):
Helina returns(she was in Muse Of Fire and Vendetta)
to try to locate her father, among other things!! And
of course Oliver gets involved!! Also, Lauren's mother
shows up and tells Lauren and her police officer father
that she thinks that Lauren's sister may be still
alive!! A
EPISODE # 18: SALVATION(Mar. 27, 2013):
There's a new vigilante in town killing off people who
have failed the people of the "Glades"! And Laurel and
her dad and mom are still trying to find out if her
sister is still alive!! Plus it turns out that one of the
victims of the vigilante is a friend of Thea's!! A
EPISODE # 19: UNFINISHED BUSINESS(Apr. 3, 2013):
Vertigo make another appearance, along with the
Count!! A
EPISODE # 20: HOME INVASION(Apr. 24, 2013):
Deadshot is back again and of course Diggle really
wants to bring him down!!! Meanwhile, a family
is getting ready to take on a really bad dude when
they all get killed except the kid!! Things progress
to where he ends up staying at the Queens residence
along with Laurel and Tommy!! What a weird set-up!! A
EPISODE # 21: THE UNDERTAKING(May 1, 2013):
This has several flashbacks to the beginnings of the
group that includes Oliver's mother and father, Tommy's
father and several other highly placed people in the
town!! Meanwhile, Oliver and Felicity get a line on
Walter's whereabouts and proceed to pull off a sting
on a casino in town!! A
EPISODE # 22: DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN(May 8, 2013):
Arrow gets into trouble by getting captured by Tommy's
father who finds out who he really is!! Also, Oliver goes
to Tommy to tell him about the problems that his
father is causing, but of course Tommy doesn't believe
him, which causes more rifts between the two!! A
EPISODE # 23: SACRIFICE(May 15, 2013):
The location of the device to destroy the Glades is
discovered by Oliver, and he takes it upon himself
to stop it by recruiting the police!! Everyone gets
involved in this finale that sees Oliver's mom making
a confession over television, and Oliver having it
out with Tommy's dad!! A

I thoroughly enjoyed the pilot episode, and not being
a comic book fan didn't feel lost at all. The story is
set up extremely well, and you can see there is clearly
a lot of potential there and a lot of places they can
explore if they so desire. Along with "last resort"
this was the best new pilot that i have seen in a
while. I can see this running a long time, as it
strongly reminds me of Nolan's Batman series and
is completely different to the green arrow offered
up in "Smallville" which i also thought was pretty
good in its own unique way. The darker grittier
Green Arrow is a much better one and i prefer
the way he isn't being portrayed as someone who
is extremely nice to everyone and only uses
violence when its the only way out like a
"batman" sort of character. You can also see
how what happened at the start has affected
him and the difference is portrayed well by
the other cast members; all of whom seem
to be suited to their respective roles.
It is too early to say whether this is gonna be
around for ages and be known as the best
comic book to TV show adaptation, however
if the show can continue its quality that was
shown in the pilot episode then the future
is green for Arrow! - Matthew Hutchings
