SMALLVILLE(2001) SEASON 9
Welp, the regulars are dropping like flies(not all of them
permanetly)! Gone this season are Martha Kent(who was absent
last season), Jonathan Kent(He's still dead Jim), Lionel Luthor
(he, too, is dead), Lex Luthor(no one knows where he is), and
Lana Lang(She's taken off for parts unknown!! And with the death
of Jimmy Olsen in the last season, Clark and Chloe remain of
the original cast!!
So this season relies on a lot of the other JLA members to
keep this from being boring, along with Lois Lane and the
LOSH!! Are these good changes? Who the Hell knows at this point?
This series is so far off kilter from the DC lore that it is
at this point almost unrecognizable!!
EPISODES 1: ODYSSEY(Sept. 25, 2009):
Continued from the last episode of Season 8!
I can't believe I've made it this far in this series! More
destroying the lore with the death of Jimmy Olsen last season,
no younger brother conveiniently named Jimmy, no Green Arrow
killing Lex. I could go on, but you get the idea!
Anyway, on to season 9: All the hearoes are blaming themselves
for the death of Jimmy, Lois gets back from the future and
promptly gets into a train wreck, Clark is still wondering
why he can't fly, and we now have a plethera of bad dudes
in town from Krypton, led by Zod!
Not really any difference from last season to this one,
Clark is still being a martyr!

The fun thing about this series is how all the heroes are
ass-hats!(NOT- fun that is)!
The basic premise is that the "Kryponians" as Tess calls
them have started a plague in the city, turning people
into zombies!(I figured that this would come up sooner
or later as the CW most watched shows are all about them!)!

volunteers to help her out! Turns out that not only
did Lois get the job, but they won't hire her withoug
Clark!
This introduces Green Arrow's sidekick, Speedy(although,
of course this is nothing like the Speedy in the comics!
Meanwhile, Chloe is investigating Tess, with her and
Clark thinking that she is forming her own Kryptonian
army!
And again, in the catagory of "let's destroy everything
we know about the Superman/Superboy lore", let's make the
Kandorians evil!!
Lois and Clark kiss for the first time!

I am looking forward to this episode because it has
the greatest ensemble of Superheroes ever: The Justice
Society Of America!! We'll see if my anticipation was
founded!
The cruxt here is that a baddie from the past(The Icicle)
has a son who decides to kill off all of the JSA that were
responsible for his capture!
One of the funniest scenes is when Chloe says she needs
a computer and Stargirl proudly takes the cover off or
their state-of-the-art computer, a commodore 64)!!!

If nothing else this has a great beginning, showing a convention
with many cameos of famous characters from various sci-fi/comic
lore: Yoda, Wonder Woman, C3P0, Storm Trooper!
So the cruxt is that a boy steals a valuable "Warrior Of
Light" comic that has never been open, and it transforms
him into said Warrior! And Chloe find him quite attractive!
Zatanna returns here, and she tells Clark that the comic
had been cursed!

to get the Kandorians powers to work! This isn't setting
well with Tess or his wife, Faora!

kidnaps Lois insisting that she write the story! This
drags Zod's wife Faora involved(still no explantation
as to how she's still alive!)!

I love most of the Superhero shows that are out there (of course
there are some that are awful) but Smallville is absolutely one
of my favorites of all-time! It tells the story of Clark Kent
before he became Superman. Every episode is as exciting as the
one before it and I can't say enough about Tom Welling, he was
fantastic as Clark Kent! It was on before the Superhero genre
exploded but it still absolutely holds up today! If you are
a fan of superhero shows then I can not recommend this show
