SUPERBOY(1988) SEASON 3 PAGE

SUPERBOY(1988) SEASON 3

First things first, there are no English subtitles in this!!!! BOOOOOOO!!!!

The second season sees a few changes, one major one!! Superboy
is just not himself!!! LOL!! They kicked off John Haymes Newton and
replaced him with Gerald Christopher!! Also gone is T.J. White(Perry's
nephew played by Jaime Calvert, and photographer for the newpaper)!!
I'll have to watch these as I don't know how this turn of events
helped/hurt the show!!

EPISODES 1: THE BRIDE OF BIZZARO(PART 1)(Oct. 06, 1990):

This starts off with a big faux pas: Bizzaro's "S" should be
backwards!!! Of course this is because they've changed the whole
lore of the origin of Bizzaro!

Anyway, Bizzaro comes back to Earth and Luthor swings a deal
with him to kill Superboy, then he'll make him a girlfriend!

I really can't stand the dude they picked to play Luthor! C+

EPISODE 2: THE BRIDE OF BIZZARO(PART 2)(Oct. 13, 1990):

Continued from the previous episode! C

EPISODE 3: THE LIAR(Oct. 20, 1990):

This one's about polution and the effects it has on people! B-

EPISODE 4: NEILA(Oct. 27, 1990):

Neila's here and she's after Superboy for some unknown
reason!!! B-

EPISODE 5: ROADS NOT TAKEN(PART 1)(Nov. 03, 1990):

This episode actually has merit! Even though the acting
is still pretty bad! The story was decent, and the SFX
are a bit better! So much possibility! B

EPISODE 6: ROADS NOT TAKEN(PART 2)(Nov. 10, 1990):

Continued from the precious episode!! B

EPISODE 7: THE SONS OF ICARUS(Nov. 17, 1990):

This one's hard to rate! It's somewhere between really, really
great and really bad!! I've got to go with really great! It's
about a group of Afrecan Americans who discover that they're
connected to a past religion that has the ability to fly!

Guest starring Wayne Brady(Who's Line Is It Anyway?, Let's
Make A DEal)!! B+

EPISODE 8: CARNIVAL(Nov. 24, 1990):

The devil made him do it!! OK, a guy is going around stealing
people's souls!!!

Guest starring Gregg Allman!!! B

EPISODE 9: TEST OF TIME(Dec. 01, 1989):

This is about two aliens who are testing Clark by slowing time
down - a lot!!! B

EPISODE 10: MINDSCAPE(Dec. 08, 1989):

This one is pretty silly!! About a "life form" taking over
Superboy, throwing him into a dream world!

Guest starring Lex Lugar!! C+

EPISODE 11: SUPERBOY... LOST(Dec. 15, 1990):

Superboy stops a meteor from crashing to Earth and losses
his memory!!! B

EPISODE 12: SPECIAL EFFECTS(Jan. 05, 1991):

Someone dressing up in scary costumes is going around a movie set killing
people! Or are these real monsters???

Andy(Ilan Mitchel-Smith) returns for his last shot in the series!!

Another episode that coulda benifitted from being longer!! B+

EPISODE 13: NEILA AND THE BEAST(Jan. 12, 1990):

Neila's back, but this time she's needing Superboy for help from
some big bad meanies!! B

EPISODE 14: THE GOLEM(Jan. 19, 1991):

A Jewish man, tired of all the persecution and bigotry he's been
dealing with, brings to life an old legend: Golem! B+

EPISODE 15: A DAY IN THE DOUBLE LIFE(Jan. 26, 1991):

Clark's boss wants Clark to account for every minute of his
day! Meanwhile, two of the other dudes in the office disappear!

Guest starring Allyce Beasley! B-

EPISODE 16: BODY SWAP(Feb. 02, 1991):

Superboy and Lex swap bodies!!! B-

EPISODE 17: REBIRTH(PART 1)(Feb. 09, 1991):

Superboy inadvertantly "kills" a gunrunner during a robery!
He decides he's no good and goes home tom mommy!!

Guest starring here is Stuart Whitman(Cimeron Strip)!! B-

EPISODE 18: REBIRTH(PART 2)(Feb. 16, 1991):

Continued from the previous episode, this one is really violent
and dark!! B

EPISODE 19: WEREWOLF(Feb. 23, 1991):

Betcha never guess what this one's about!!! B-

EPISODE 20: PEOPLE VS METALLO(Apr. 06, 1991):

The man formerly known as Metallo is being tried in court, but
he brings some krytonite with him and the tables are turned
with Superboy being on the defense!! This is really poor! C-

EPISODE 21: JACKSON AND HYDE(Apr. 13, 1991):

The head of the department is in an accident, takes a drink of
a potion that Lana shows to the group, and suddenly he's acting
quite two-faced!!

Guest starring Juice Newton(singer - The Sweetest Thing!!!)
(She doesn't sing here)!! B+

EPISODE 22: MINE GAMES(May 04, 1991):

Oh, goody, another Luthor episode!! Superboy and he gets trapped
in a mine and Superboy can't get them out because Lex brought
some kryptonite with him!! D

EPISODE 23: WISH FOR ARMEGEDDON(Apr. 27, 1991):

Unbeknowngst to Superboy, he signs a pact that opens up his
dreams to input from an evil source! B

EPISODE 24: STANDOFF(May 11, 1991):

This ia about a hostage situation which I've never cared for
this kind of plot!!! C-

EPISODE 25: THE ROAD TO HELL(PART 1)(May 18, 1991):

A great way to end the season, LEX LUTHOR!!!! C+

Continued from previous episode! This is sad that the
best actor in this is Ron!! LOL

Guest starring Ron Ely(Tarzan)!!C

THERE ARE NO SPECIALS IN THIS SET!!

From another reviewer at IMDb.com:

the flash was a pretty good adaptation of the
comic books and it really is a shame that it got
canceled so fast . the acting was pretty good
and the characters were pretty close to their
paper counterparts. all in all a decent show
and a better adaptation of a comic book into
a series than any other so far ( that includes
the not too bad but too girlie adaptation of
superboy in WB's smallville ) - ruthven1974
