Supergirl: The Complete Fifth Season
Even though they take a lot of liberties with the Supergirl lore,
this is non-the-less a pretty good series, at least so far! You
just need to forget about comic consistency!!
This has several almost well known guest stars in it, including:
the first Supergirl, Helen Slater(the movie Supergirl), the third
TV Superman/boy, Dean Cain(Lois And Clark: The New Adventures
Of Superman), Grant Gustin(The Flash), Lynda Carter(Wonder Woman),

Sharon Osborn(mmmm, Ozzie's wife)!
EPISODES 1: EVENT HORIZON(Oct. 14, 2018):
A dudette from out of nowhere buys out CatCo, and is
immediately combative to everyone!! Also for excitement:
a woman calling herself "Midnight" has shown up to put the
hurt on Martian Manhunter and apparently everyone associated
with him! D
EPISODE 2: STRANGER BESIDE ME(Oct. 21, 2018):
Lena has a plan to change humanity! Whle on the surface this
sounds like a great idea, her way of doing in is anything but
helpful She's also out after vengence on Supergirl/Kara!!
John's "brother" shows up and immediately challenges him! D

to right all the wrongs that he's caused!! Even though I can't
stand the character, this episode is pretty fun!! B

More Luthor stupidity, forcing Supergirl to be a bodyguard
to Andrea!! C
EPISODE 15: REALITY BYTES(Mar. 17, 2019):
This whole season is basically a re-telling of the Star TRek:
TNG episode "The Game", wherein people get addicted to none
reality!!!! B
Incredibly leaned toward the trans community! B
EPISODE 16: ALEX IN WONDERLAND(Mar. 24, 2019):
So back the the heavy angst, and it's REALLY old!! Kara and
Alex's "father" dies(killed) and instead of going to the
funeral, Alex goes into the VR world! C
EPISODE 17: DEUS LEX MACHINA(Mar. 31, 2019):
This has really gotten convoluted, with Lex using everyone for
his own purposes!! C
EPISODE 18: THE MISSING LINK(Apr. 21, 2019):
Things get even darker for Supergirl and her friends! Lena
comes to her and asks for forgiveness! C
EPISODE 19: IMMORTAL KOMBAT(Mar. 28, 2019):
So this wraps everything nicely and gets rid of Lex Lu-
oh, wait, that's another series! This ends on a cliffhanger
that I'm pretty sure most nobody wanted!! D

Season 1 was quite good and held well to the superhero genre.
Season 2 started well but drifted deeply into interpersonal
drama. Season 3 started the way season 2 ended, with less emphasis
on the superhero and deeply into character emotions/relationships
and social issues. These are important discussions, to be sure,
but I watch superhero shows to see action and fun, not for deep
emotion or for a critical societal expose.
Frankly I don't care who's straight, gay, engaged, in love,
depressed, happy or psychotic unless it directly relates to
the villain:heroine story line. Supergirl has, seemingly,
fallen to influences (pressures?) far from the original
comic book universe. It has become a soap opera. - ken-1273
