THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO(1981) SEASON ONE PAGE

THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO(1981) SEASON ONE

Believe it or not I'm walking on air! This begins one of the best theme
songs for any TV series, especially Superhero!!

This has some relly great music in it besides the theme song!!

Starring William Katt, Robert Culp and Connie Sellecca, this is about
a dude who has a case containing a suit and instructions given to him,
of which he immediately loses the instructions! The series is about him
and his "handler' Robet Culp fighting the bad guys who are all against
America!! And Katt trying to figure out how to use his uniform!

EPISODES 1: PILOT: THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO(Mar. 18, 1981):

Introduction to Ralph Hinkly(TGAH), Bill Maxwell(Agent for the
FBI), Pam Davidson(Hinkly's girlfriend) Hinkly's class and, of
course THE SUIT!!

Hinkly falls heir to a suit left by space visitors who tell him
that he is the only hope for Earth!!

Guest starring here are Richard Herd(V, T.J. Hooker, 2 episodes of
Star Trek: TNG, SeaQuest DSV, 4 episodes of Star Trek: VOY, InAlienable,
Star Trek: Renegades)! B+

EPISODE 2: THE HIT CAR(Mar. 25, 1981):

Bill comes to Ralph with a job involving a drug dealer and trying
to get a woman to testify! Also going on is the class is going to
put on a Shakespear play: "The Taming Of The Shrew"!

Guest starring: Keen Holiday(Matlock)! B

EPISODE 3: HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU, KID(Apr. 01, 1981):

A top secret gun sight attached to a fighter jet gets hijacked!
Meanwhile, not only are Pam's parents in town, but the class
has put up one of their own to run for school president!

Probably the only real problem with this show is that Ralph's
flying troubles gets pretty old after a while!!

Guest starring: June Lockhart(Lassie, Lost In Space, Babylon 5
episode "The Quality Of Mercy", Petticoat Junction), Bob Hastings
(McHale's Navy, several incarnations of Batman as Commisioner Gordon
[annimated]), Red West(known for being in a lot of western movies
and TV shows, especially The Wild Wild West, 17!!!! Elvis Presley
movies!!!!)! A-

EPISODE 4: SATURDAY NIGHT ON SUNSET BOULEVARD(Apr. 08, 1981):

The triangle strikes again! Ok, it's really a dude out to destroy
everyone who stands in his way of ruling the world!!

Pretty funny line: "We gotta get you a bigger phone booth!"

Guest starring: No known stars here! B+

EPISODE 5: RESEDA ROSE(Apr. 15, 1981):

This is a very poor episode which doesn't make any sense at all!
Even though there's a wrap up at the end, it still makes no snese!
probably the lowest of all the episodes!

Guest starring: No known stars here!! B-

EPISODE 6: MY HEROES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN COWBOYS(Apr. 29, 1981):

Ralph blames himself for a near bus accident and decides he will
give up puting on the suit ever again! The Lone Ranger -and Bill
talk sense into him!! Also going on, a former war buddy of Bill's
and now a cop is planning to bust a diamond deal and steal the
jewels and the money!!

Guest starring: John Har(The Lone Ranger[he took over the role of
the Lone Ranger while Clayton Moore was out, possibly due to a
contract dispute!!])! B+

EPISODE 7: FIRE MAN(May 06, 1981):

Tony(one of Ralph's students) gets framed for arson!!

Guest starring Danny Glover(Lethal Weapon I, II, III, IV, Maverick
[Movie], Predator 2), Timothy Carey(Beach Blalnket Bingo, Bikini
Beach, Change Of Habit! A

EPISODE 8: THE BEST DESK SCENARIO(May 13, 1981):

Both Ralph and Pam get promotions, and Bill is conderned with
his own mortality!!

Guest starring: No known stars!! A

Last episode of the season!

SPECIALS: Greatest American Heroine:

This was a proposed series to take the place of TGAH!
It never took off!!

This had Ralph, Bill and Pam returning to reprise their
roles and Ralph chosing a replacement for his suit because
he had become too well known as the GAH! Clayton Moore(The
Lone Ranger) guest stars in this!

This was proposed because William Katt was tied up working
on the Parry Mason movies!

I can certainly see why it was not picked up!! C

From another reviewer at IMDb.com:

It's amazing that it was on for 3 seasons. To me, that's a lifetime,
but shows back in the day were considered hits when they had 6 or 7
seasons. Thanks Tubi for picking up this show & allowing me to
reminisce!!!! - romeovision2002
