FLASH GORDON SERIES
Another spin on the King Features Flash Gordon character!
I've read that this is kind of a retelling of the movie
from 1980! I'll know more when I watch it! Sadly, there
are no closed captions in this!
OK, so I don't see any connection between this and the
1980 movie, this is actually pretty enjoyable. And it
is considerably unlike the movies from the 30s and 40s!
One huge devience from the original stories is the
character of Joe Wilee, the love interest of Dale
Arden's! There was no such charater in the originals!
There are no specials with this release!!
EPISODE # 1: PILOT, Pt. 1(Aug. 10, 2007):
The set-up for the reest of the series, in this Flash
learns about his father's fate and starts his sojourn
to try to get him home! This has Flash and Dale going
through a dimentional rift to the land of Oz, er, no,
to the land of Ming the Merciless!

group's friend Nick gets attacked and from what
Balin says he either dies happy, or very painfully!

A dude who is not aligned with Ming finds out

EPISODE # 8: `ALLIANCES(Dec. 5, 2012):

who offer to help out after the group run into
the "Night Hunters"!
This is one of the better episodes!

EPISODE # 11: CONSPIRICY THEORY(Jan. 23, 2013):

someone coming through the rift and records it. This
gets a sensationalist reporter, Dale & Flash & a
government operative who is part of the UFO team
involved!!

EPISODE # 12: RANDOM ACCESS(Jan. 30, 2013):
Because of the instability of the rift, strange
creatures are coming to Earth! And the same thing is

into Mongo and wind up on a chain gang!
A lot of flashbacks to previous episodes!

EPISODE # 13: SECRETS AND LIES(Feb. 6, 2013)

the flying Dactyl and a group of blue Zurn! On Earth,
Joe very stupidly goes to his police captain and tells
him about his adventures on Mongo!

EPISODE # 16: POSSESSION(Feb. 27, 2013):
Ming is doing his normal terrorizing thing and Joe
(yah, the dude that shouldn't even be in this series)
is out to prove that he isn't insane and steals Zarkov's
transporter device to head to Mongo! Of course this goes
exactly as he planned!!
Oh, and Dale gets possessed!!

EPISODE # 17: THICKER THAN WATER(Mar. 20, 2013):

is the one possessed! He's been implanted with a control
device that makes him do what ever Aura wants!
This series has gotten incredibly darker as the
episodes roll on. I think that's what killed it!

The water that was released in the last episode has

through Ming. Flash and co. go back to Mongo to find
the truth about Joe, and wind up trying to clear Terek's
name!

EPISODE # 20: COLD DAY IN HELL(Apr. 24, 2013):
Ming is pissed, Dale is pissed, Aura's pissed, Flash,

appose him. Aura vows to help the people of Mongo,
Dale vows to avenge Joe and spread the news on Earth
about Mongo, and Flash, well, he's Flash! And he has
to "win the favor of a distant queen"!

The war continues to the obvious conclusion!
In this last episode, it is not so apparent just

ever finished, as it ended on a cliff hanger!!

Reliving the tale of the legendary Flash Gordon,
Eric Johnson takes on the duty of our beloved hero.
A role that suits him with his goofy charming look.
I'll skip the story, many other have already pointed
it out so I head into the other details.
It's obvious that the creator doesn't take Flash
Gordon seriously, but instead showing a huge
passion and love for the cult rated classic from
1980. Most notable is the awkward directing, it
looks and feels like a 80's show with the picture
quality of today in which I find hilarious and
entertaining and the story is basically based of
the original 80's film feature stretched out
into a full season.
I recommend for all sci-fi fans with a sense of
humor or fans of series like Xena, Hercules and
other adventurous B-shows to give the show a try.
If you're looking for a show with a deep storyline,
good directing and high budget... Look somewhere
