THE MATRIX SET

The complete collection of the Matrix movies
starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne!

It appears that it would be advisable to watch
The Animatrix before starting the series, as this
is suppose to be set before the first movie!

THE MATRIX(1999):

This first movie is quite good, with great special
effects, story and acting! A great start to the
franchise! A

A review from an IMDb.com customer:

It's been a while since a movie has generated enough
interest in me for me to watch it. "The Matrix" looked
exciting enough in the trailers, so I decided to give it
a look. What I found was an amazing movie, with some
of the greatest special effects I've ever seen. The camera
angles really work for the action sequences and the
choreographed fight scenes made me yearn for more.
Say what you want about Keanu Reeves' acting. He
may not deliver the best dialogue, but his look can
carry a film. He was a great choice for the role of Neo.
Carrie Anne Moss was great as was the underrated
Laurence Fishburne. I highly recommend this film
for those who are a fan of visually stunning movies.
It will blow away your senses... - Charles Kim

THE MATRIX 2: RELOADED(2003)

With this movie, the story starts getting not only
really technical, but also hard to follow! You really
need to watch the whole movie very closely to be
able to keep up with what's happening! Still great
acting and special effects abound!! A-

A review from IMDb.com:

Watching The Matrix Reloaded, one is absolutely
entitled to say that it is overloaded, too lengthy
action sequences for instance, and indeed, a way
too lengthy dancing scene in Zion. But next to that,
it is obvious that this sequal to The Matrix (1999)takes
the story to a whole new dimension. Different
characters define the working of the matrix,
and the meaning of life itself, in different ways,
depending on their onthological background. A
conclusion is not (yet) given, which adds to the
movie a kind of postmodern quality. For as far
as the action sequences are concerned: Groundbreaking.
You'll see stuff that you've never seen before.
Sometimes the scenes are a little lengthy, which
harmes the narrative, but that is compensated
easily by the visual spectacle. And yes, the Architect
at the end is difficult to understand, but when
you watch the film more than once, you'll find
out that it does make sense what he says. All
together this movie may not be as fantastic as
'The Matrix', but it is definitely a good movie that
will keep you thinking for a while. - jazzzjasper

THE MATRIX 3: REVOLUTIONS(2003):

The grand finale to the series!! Pretty much more of
the same as the other movies, this is a fitting end to
the franchise! As I said before, you really need to
pay attention to each movie to be able to keep up
with what's going on! And again, great acting and
special effects!! A

A review from IMDb.com:

Going into this movie I had one wish: To leave feeling
that it was a successful conclusion to a two-part film.
Taking Reloaded/Revolutions as a single (very large)
movie with an intermission is the best way to evaluate
it. Viewed that way I think it succeeded. I thought
Revolutions was the equal of Reloaded, yet I can see
how many will think it failed. The ending gave us
everything we needed to know, but did not show us
all we wanted to see. I'm speaking of the last twenty
minutes or so here. After a visually robust middle,
in which I felt my eyes grow larger in their sockets
more than once, the ending seemed like an anticlimax.
It needed to be longer, and I would gladly have traded
some of the fx flair used earlier to give the final part
of the film it's justified due. It will be awhile before
I can look at it more objectively (perhaps I'll have to
wait to view the two parts as one on DVD). I only
suggest now that anyone seeing it let it sink in
completely before being too critical. - puppyperson

THE MATRIX 4: ANIMATRIX(2003):

Nine animated vignettes based off the Matrix movies,
these are quite well done, and very interesting!! I
enjoyed them all, with the second and third installments
being very informative about the world before the
Matrix movies, and just how the world therein came
about! A

A review from an IMDb.com customer:

Born from the directors(Larry and Andy Wachowski)of
"The Matrix" ,this 9 part great animated movie tell's
the story of what happened whit mankind before the
time that "The Matrix" takes place.

Here are the titles of the nine part of The Animatrix:
1.Final Flight of the Osiris 2.Kid's Story 3.The Second
Renaissance Part I 4.The Second Renaissance Part II
5.Beyond 6.A Detective Story 7.Program 8.World Record
9.Matriculated

In the first part of The Animatrix "Final Flight of the
Osiris" we find out that the Osiris is the ship who
informs Zion that the machines are digging direct
to it.

If you don't watch the "Kid's story" you will not be
able to understand what does the kid is talking
about to Neo in "The Matrix Reloaded".

But the most important parts of The Animatrix are
the The Second Renaissance Part's in which is told
the story between man and machine.

The movie is the necessary introduction of "The
Matrix", don't miss it - Attila Duka
