The two Under Siege movies starring Steven
Seagal!
UNDER SIEGE(1992)
There's a lot of people who don't like Steven
Seagal, or his movies, but I really liked this one!
Not only are the settings really good, but the
music and acting are pretty decent too! And
Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey, Patrick O'Neal
and Colm Meany do excellent jobs in their roles!
A much better film than I would have expected! B+
From IMDb.com:
Steven Seagal might not be Arnold Schwarzenneger
or Bruce Willis, but Under Siege quickly became
one of 1992's most successful films, earning Seagal
a fine reputation as a good action star. Andrew
Davis directed the film about a US Battleship that
has been taken over by Tommy Lee Jones and Gary
Busey and it's up to Steven Seagal, whom acts as
a chef cook, but is really an Ex-Navy Seal to save
the day with the help of the ever sexy Erika Eleniak
playing Miss July 1989. Jones and Busey particularly
are great as the two villians and the action scenes
and karate moves from Seagal are quite well
choregraphed with a fine score by Gary Chang.
The supportive cast, topped off by Patrick Adams,
Colm Mehoney, Nick Mancuso, Andy Romano,
Troy Evans, Glenn Morshower, Dennis Lipscomb
and Damian Chapa all turn in fine and impressive
even humerous performances. Highly recommended
for fans of the action genre. - (eddy-28)

Wow, I really liked this!! Unusual for a sequel!
There are no name actors backing up Steven
this time, but gotta say he carries this one
pretty good on his own! Course, he does have
the help of a Arsinio Hall look alike in Morris
Chestnut, who is actually very good here and
brings quite a bit of humor! Well worth the
time to watch! B+
From IMDb.com:
A high water mark in the career of Mr Segal.
He returns to the screen as the, unflappable,
invincible, ice cool, ultra hard Casey Ryback.
See him leap from a speeding train, rock climb,
roll in dirt, take bullets in the arm, all without
putting a mark on his immaculate black suit.
No messing about with drawn out fight scenes
against a super hard villain, everyone is
dispatched with minimum of effort as no-one
is anywhere near as hard as Casey Ryback.
No-one is more entertaining as to watch as
the one man army than Segal. If you watch
this film expecting an intellectual script and
fine acting then you will be disappointed.
But if you expect that from any all out action
film I expect you are a fool. Totally over the
top, totally unbelievable but a total
blast. - martin-530
